A new start for MommyOf2!!

I agree...this wedding I went to this weekend...boy, oh boy.....just because you have dated FOREVER, does NOT mean you should be legally hitched, especially if you are both compulsive gamblers! Hope things are going well, I also had a stinky eating weekend..so I am afraid to step on the scale...SO I am not going to until I am ready! Good Luck with you weigh in!!!!

Hey Laurel! Glad you are back! :D I know what you mean about the marriage thing. There has been a few times when I just thought: "why?" Don't worry about the messed up eating for a day or two. We all have those slip ups every once in awhile. The important thing is that you can put it behind you and move on. And you are almost to your goal! :D

Hi all!
so glad you're back, JB! You really should try to get to the SB Zoo before you leave there. It's well worth it! We should've arranged to meet there! Oh well!
Yesterday was a good day. I ran nearly 4 miles. I want to get so that I can run 4 miles in 45 min. It's hard! My ipod helps. My sweet husband loaded it up w/ my favorite tunes. We went to the beach and bought sandwiches on the way. Not the best for a dieting person, but oh so yummy! I also had coffee which I thought was unsweetened, but it was super sweet and super yummy. (sigh) Dinner was leftover Indian food. Pretty reasonable.
Today is our 8th anniversary!!!!!! I will splurge on sushi for dinner since that is sort of our thing. I'll control myself and only drink water with it. 8 years - wow!

Hi all! Thanks for the kind wishes for our anniversary! We ended up taking the girls w/ us to dinner. They were pretty good, though. Yesterday we went to Disneyland. I was so bad! I had one of those tollhouse cookies w/ van. ice cream: 23 friggin' grams of fat!!!!! I felt so gross and I swear if I get on the scale, I'll be 2 lbs. up. So frustrating! Today I'm being soooo good. Oh and fried chicken for dinner. What's up with that??? There was nothing healthy on the menu.

Well, I'm back on track. I'm going to go very seriously into my diet on July 5th. No excuses! Anyone want to join me?

Laurel!!! :D I'm back! LOL Happy Belated Anniversary!! :D 8 years! Holy smoke! ;) hehehehe

Glad to see you're back on track :D I just started counting points again, too after taking a two week break (how friggin' long THAT seemed! I acutally missed counting each bite!!! - I know, I'm weird but it works for me :D hehehe)

Hope all went well for you today and you let the water have it! LOL

23 grams of fat! Avoid those things! Next time you have the urge, RUN! In the other direction! Lol! :p We all have to get back on track. We've been all relaxed and slacking for some reason.

In about 1 1/2 months, it will be my 12th anniversary!

12 years?? Wow! That's cool. I love anniversaries! Usually, I go through the wedding pics with my girls, but this year we were just so busy. I will one of these days. It's the only time we look at them, after all.

So today was ok. I had my normal breakfast, lunch at my mom's which meant super healthy. I only ate a bit of my dessert. Then leftover Indian food for dinner which was yummy! But I only ate a bit of it.

I had every intention of getting to the gym to run on the treadmill, but the shower I was at lasted longer than I thought it would. Oh well! Then I tried to swim, but I couldn't do it safely wtih my two girls plus a neighbor. Even with not swimming someone chewed me out for what she perceived as "lack of supervision" of my 2-year old. Bitch! I clearly should have been right next to her, but with two other children it was hard. Usually people at our pool are really nice, helpful, willing to pitch in - especially other moms. This woman was just nasty about it even though she had some older kids. I always help people out who are struggling w/ little ones. This woman was just out to nail me. Grrrrr!!!! Oh well. She'll get hers someday. Unfortunately, it put me in a bad mood.

Soooo ... what's everyone going to do to stay on track despite all the I.D. festivities?????

pool women

What is it with evil pool women this week? I had my own incident earlier in the week. Not fun. Well, you have to remember you took this mommy job for the high pay and recognition! HAAAAAA!

Good point, TwinMom! How weird that you had your own evil pool mom experience. Strange ...

OK - it's 2 a.m. and I am having the worst insomnia!!!! I can't go to sleep to save my life. Aaargh!

Hey Laurel! Yep, that insomnia is the worst. I have it alot! I hope you finally got some sleep last night. We aren't doing much for the 4th. Just hanging around the house and cooking on the grill. We might go to some fireworks display but we aren't sure yet if we want to go through the hassle. It's basically just like any other day around here. What are you doing?

Hi Tams!
We have such a packed weekend!! Today we are catching up wtih friends at a lake. Tomorrow we have this BIG wedding to go to at the Ritz Carlton in Pasadena. Very fun! I've got to go rent a tux for my hubby today. Monday, some friends are coming here for dinner - we're ordering in probably Mexican or Indian food. It's sort of a tradition with my little group of high school friends. Then on Tuesday, we were thinking about going to a party at our swim club although I'm so mad about that evil woman yesterday, I don't know. Also there is a firework celebration from 5-9 that night so I don't know if we can handle both. Now do you see why I'm not going to get entirely serious until the 5th????? Crazy! I'm tired just thinking about it all.
So how are we going to stay on track? Any ideas? I guess you won't have trouble b/c your weekend is going to be normal - lucky you!

weekend normal??? WHERE? HOW? LOL

Hi laurel! no such thing as a "normal" weekend! I swear! :D just try to stick with the healthiest choices possible! :D You can do it ! THe 5th is coming so look out! :D We are gonna kick butt!

Oh Peanut! Did that word "normal" catch you off guard? Lol!

Laurel, We just don't have anyone who leaves near by that we could visit. We haven't really made many friends here. We move around too much and it gets too hard to leave them. Most of the people I like from school are away for the summer. And the people I like, hubby doesn't. The people he likes, I sure don't. So, nothing to do but spend time with the hubby and kids. But to be honest, even if we could go somewhere, I don't think I would really want to. We went to wal mart and target today and walked around a little and my leg was already hurting just from that. :(

Anyway, you are going to stay on track cause we are going to kick your butt if you don't! Is that a good enough idea for ya? Lol! ;) :D

We do have some good friends. The ones I am seeing this weekend happen to be friends from waaaaaaaay back. We also have a nice group of couple/family friends who we really like. It took awhile though. We had the same problem that you and your husband have especially with neighbors. We would like the wife and dislike the husband or vis versa. Now our group is pretty great. There is one husband who drives us nuts - weird social skills, sarcastic, etc. He went all the way through med school and residency and decided he didn't like being a surgeon because he didn't like havnig to talk to the patients. ???????? Can you imagine? Then he went back to Law School. Weird! (That was for you, Tams!!! JUST KIDDING!!!)
Anyhow I did pretty well today. Ate a nice heatlhy lunch and dinner. No exercise, but I sure did move around a lot.
We'll see how I do tomorrow and the following two days. Keep me good, ladies!! You're so good for me.

Well, I didn't decide on law school cause I didn't like talking to the clients in counseling. :p I was always trying to figure out what I could help them do legally. I really felt like asking them how they felt about their problems did not help their problems!

We'll keep you good cause you know you have to come back and report to us! ;)

Yep - I just find that weird. Give up a career as a surgeon to go back to school. Ugh! To each his own I guess.

Anyhow, I am just home from the most amazing event! I wnet to a wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Pasadena. It was black tie, so I wore a dress that I haven't worn since I was engaged. It felt great fitting in it! I did eat the dinner, but it would've been a sin not to: Sirloin (only at half), lobster tail, etc. Of course I had to eat!!!

So this man came up to me and gave me the most amazing compliment: He said, "Someone should make a doll out of you, cuz you're perfect!" How do you like that?? I've never had a compliment like that and this event was filled w/ 25 year old hotties!! And a man dipped me so that the back of my head nearly hit the floor. I thought, "He couldn've have pulled that off a year ago!" It felt really good. Yippee!! Motivating me to lose the last 5 lbs! (Which is probably closer to 7 or 8 since I've cheated so much lately.)

Anyhow, thanks for letting me share - it was such fun!

Hi there!
I have tried to post photos, but it never works. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Grrr! It's funny - I think there is something to having tthe confidence of being 36, having two kids, and being happily married cuz I do NOT look like a doll!!!
So get this! I am down another 3 lbs!!! REmember all my predictions that I'd be up? Nope! I'm at 148!! Which means, of course, that I'm 3 lbs. away from my goal. Unbelievable! Unfortunately, I haven't been to the gym in a week, but I've been runnign about like crazy and eating pretty well. Last night we had Mexican food, which bummed me out a bit. I ended up eating 2 fish tacos. They were totally healthy (not fried), filled me up, and I was happy. There was nothing else I would've wanted. I have truly changed my eating habits in this past year. One year ago, I would've had something fried with a coke and I would've found a way to have a nice, chocolatey dessert! It feels good.
Happy 4th to everyone in the Statees!
