A new start for MommyOf2!!

Oh! How could I forget!! Remember, Tams, I was asking about the IUD? Well, I got one yesterday. OMG - I can't believe how painful it was! I guess they sew it with NO anasthesia. I kept saying to myself, "Oh, I gave birth to 8+ lb. and a 9+ lb. babies w/ no drugs, I can handle this!" But man! It was painful. It was minor surgery and no one warned me. Ugh! Anyhow, I'm covered for 10 years - so that's worth a lot, right?

Well, I thought I'd share the outcome of tthat story!

OMG! I've never heard anything about it being painful! I guess no one wants to tell you that! Sometimes I'm really glad that I don't have to worry about all of that. ;) 10 years is definitely a long time to be worry free. What is the failure rate of those? How easily can it be removed if you do decide to have another?

OMG - this insomnia is the worst!!!!! I absolutely cannot sleep. And I just realized that I forgot my first group personal training session. Grr! I hate that. It was on Monday and I guess I just spaced between the wedding Sunday and Fourth of July Tuesday. That is so frustrating. At least I'm down to 148 - Yippeee!!!!!!

Today I started my group personal training. Yes - I weighed in. Scary! I was at 150 so maybe my 148 the other day was just cuz it was a different scale. And the trainer is going to read our food diaries and recommend different foods. SCARY!!!!!! LOL! It was really hard - we did some aerobics to begin, lunges, we ran 1/2 mile, we sprinted around poles, we did weights and lunges, we did heavy weights, we ran another 1/2 mile, and we finished off with abs. Can you believe we did that in an hour???? Crazy stuff! I'm dead right now.

Food for today:

B:Kashi Go Lean cereal w/ 1/2 C. skim milk
Coffee: 1.5 cups w/ 1 tbsp. creamer and 1/2 c. skim milk

L: Ham sandwich, 10 quakes, 1 nectarine, 8 oz. lemonade light

I have made Teriyaki chicken and basmati rice and asparagus for dinner. Super heatlhy! I'll probably have a diet root beer with it. Yippee!!!

I am SO proud of you Laurel!!!! Way to go!! :D:D Looks like you're right on track too! GREAT JOB! :D You dinner sounds DElish!!! :D have you ever tried "grasshoppers"? They are awesome! Its just asparagus roasted until the tips are crunchie and the rest is nice and soft-tender :D MMMMMM The kids will only eat it if we tell 'em they're "grasshoppers" LOL

Your training session sounds rough but enjoyable :D Great :D

Great workout, Laurel! Sounds like the plan to make you lose weight is to drop you flat on the floor so that you are too tired to go for the food! Lol! :p

Ummm... Peanut, your kids are about as nuts as you! ;)

Aaaargh! I can't move today! I don't ever remember being this sore. Ugh!

Oh - I thought of something! I have my 20 year high school reunion next year. I hadn't even thought about the advantages of being thin for that event! Here I had this motivating factor that didn't even occur to me until now. Silly me!

Well, I clearly cannot do Cycle today - too sore! This way Jenna won't have to miss her library story time and I can run tomorrow.

Sorry you're so sore Laurel! Thats a major bummer! GREAT motivation! And you didn't even know you were hiding it from yourself! LMAO! Love it! You'll blow 'em away! :D

Hope you've had a good day! :D

OK - I wanna do it! Are you gonna do total weight loss or percentage weight loss? I haven't been in one in a long time. Do you know that I had no idea the first time around that we were supposed to mail the winners??? Am I lame, or what? It was literally the first thing I did when I found this site and I was completely clueless - still am really!

I did NOT work out today. I can hardly walk! My daughter is on my lap and it's killing my thigh and butt. She only weighs 28 lbs!

Maybe I'll walk our poor dog later.

I am planning to do percentage lost. Don't you think that would make it more fair? I am trying to make it clear to everyone, especially the newbies, that they will need to mail or email the winners. I am going to keep repeating myself until everyone is sick of hearing it! Lol! :D

OK - it's official! I've been on this diet for ONE YEAR!!!!! In that year, I have lost 33 lbs!!!!! (I'm up to 152 - I don't know why, maybe my TOM?) I'm so happy! I did let myself splurge a bit. After running 3 miles, I drank a malt and had a small order of fries. I said all along that one my one year anniversary, I'd cheat a bit.

This is going to sound neurotic, but I think I'm going to go down to 140 now. Don't worry - I'm not getting anorexic or anything. I just think I would look better. I'm so close to 145, but I still have a flabby tummy and I even have fat on my back that I NEVER had before having kids. It actually peaks out of the side of a particularly tight bathing suit. So ... one year in, I have a revised goal: 140 which is 12 lbs more. I don't know or care how long it takes me t o lose it. Maybe I'll lose 1 lb. a month for a year. (I hope I lose it faster than that, but no pressure.)

Thank you so much for being supportive of me. I joined the site in October or November, but it has really helped and it was when I joined the site that I really got motivated to lose. I learned all about WW (without having to pya the $$ for it!) And it's just been a good experience. Thanks!

Laurel, congrats on the year! :D Adjusting your goal isn't a crime - just be careful (okay, enough mother henning  LOL).

Great job on the run! Are you feeling better today? I got my walk/ run in too but had to take it careful due to my PIA knee  We are right on track:D

I know. I felt a bit neurotic adjusting it. I said all along that once I got to 145, I'd see how I felt. Who knows? When I've been under 135, I've gotten sick a LOT. I don't know if it was a coincidence, but as soon as I put a bit of weight on, I didn't get sick as much. Colds, tummy viruses. Pretty much anything contagious. It's like being thin compromised my immune system or something. We'll see!

I still feel sore, but miraculously I was able to run 3 miles w/out stopping at a "5" on the treadmill. It felt good!

Don't worry about us thinking you are going to be anorexic. You are so close to your goal now and if you feel that it's not the right weight then adjust it. Ummm... as long as it is within a healthy range of course! Lol!

Sometimes adjustment is necessary. You already know how you felt when you got to 135. So I know you'll adjust accordingly :D

OH thanks so much for the support!! I am 5'6" by the way. Any thoughts on a good weight for that height? I'd say I'm medium build. Not boney. I can't believe it's been a year!!!! I saw the teacher who I first took a class with one year ago and told him. He was funny about it. I'm so glad that I've gotten rid of all that weight! Now down to the fine tuning. I couldn't've done it w/out my gal pals on line!

Hi! Well, I mentioned that food wasn't great yesterday. Today I'm doing much better.

B: 2 tortillas; 2 fried eggs; coffee
L: Smoothie w/ fat fighter boost; 1/2 piece leftover fish and basmati rice

For dinner, we are going out for a friend's 40th. My plan is to only have a salad. Their salads are yummy! Everything else is super fattening. oh and no booze- only water and iced tea.

Unfortunately, no exercise today other than shopping. LOL! I am going to dance a lot tonight and maybe we'll take the girls swimming this afternoon.

Laurel, I wouldn't go below 140 for your height - Actually the height range for your height is 134-147 ( obviously the smaller number is for the smaller frame and larger number for larger frames ) :D SO Your 140 goal is right on :D

You're doing great! Enjoy dinner and dancing! :D You already have a plan of attack and its a good solid one :D

Dinner and dancing was so fun! I wore a hot little black dress and danced all night. I ordered a sandwich w/ fruit and iced tea (unsweetened). Oh - I also swam 24 laps at the pool. Man swimming is hard!!! Give me an hour of any other kind of exercise and I'm fine. Swimming kicks my tushie. At one point I heard sirens and I had to check to see if I was drowning and the paramedics were called for me! lol

Today we're off to a bday party (kids') in the heat. It's an outdoor pool party, but the pool is 90+ degrees. Ew! Not refreshing!
