A new start for MommyOf2!!

ROFL! I'm sorry.. bu that is the most hilarous "fau paux" I've heard an instructor do!! Inner whore...err core ladies, your inner core!!

Lmao That Was So Funny You Ared Oing Awsome Girl And I Would Have Fell Over Laughing Myself!

I need to change my signature. I'm back up to 158! I'm so mad at myself. Oh well! It is my TOM. But I ate w/ reckless abandon over the weekend as well. Not so much bad stuff, just quantities of really yummy, healthy food.

Today, I did an hour of Spin/Cycle which nearly killed me. Our teacher's going to Australia for a month and I'm going to enjoy the break from her. She's a demon!

Food:
B: Kashi and coffee - 6.5 pts.
L: Apple (1); Sandwich (ham, wheat bread, lettuce) (4 pts); quakes (1) - 6 pts.

I'm very full, so I don't think I'll need a snack, but if I do, it'll be a power bar. Dinner will likely be chicken and vegies and rice if we go to the Farmers' Mkt. which my husband and children are begging for. Otherwise, left over clam linguini. Very low fat/cal. I should stay w/in my points w/ no problem especially considering the killer workout.

Hey there!! lol.. What is with the instructors out there.. a demon for spin cycling, a jerk for kickboxing! Oh well at least you do get a great workout for both!! Anyway.. Just checking in on ya!

Saying you want another baby gets them everytime, doesn't it? Lol! :D Don't worry too much about being back to 158 if it is TOM. I think most people weigh a little more at that time. Don't change your signature yet. Wait until it is over and then see what your weight is. :D

Christina - You know the instructors are a bunch of characters there. I'm convinced that arrogance and a big ego are common traits of aerobics instructors. Oh well! Those two give me a good work-out. The teacher who is sweet and normal, not so much. Maybe there's something to it!

HH - OK I won't change my signature yet. I'm going to try to run today, but I seem to have a nasty cough. We'll see!

Food for the rest of yesterday wasn't so good. My regular chicken, rice, and vegies at the Farmer's Mkt. did not return this season. It was such a healthy dinner! Really fresh, yummy grilled chicken and vegies and I let myself eat some of the rice as it was steamed. Last night I was stuck! My daughter and I split a BBQ combo. She ate the egg roll, I ate most of the BBQ pork. She ate the FRIED rice, and I ate the vegies (cabbage, carrots, onions). Not nearly as good as the old food. Oh well! I still think I stayed w/in my points yesterday. I can't be positive since it's pretty hard to calculate a meal like that whcih I split with my daughter. Oh well!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Hi all! So this personal trainer grabbed my friend and me at the gym. She offered to give us a free session. I guess she'd seen us there so much, she thought we could use some help losing weight! So she suggested that instead of running on the treadmill, we ought to do 45 min. at a steep incline (11). It was a pretty kickass workout! At first, I felt like a slacker, like I should be running. But by the end I was dripping with sweat and super sore. She said that I'd burn more fat that way. I think it worked. I hope! The calculator said that I walked 2.5 miles and burned just under 400 calories. Something new ...

Anyhow, I ran into another personal trainer and she asked me how much weight I'd lost and I told her. I said I wanted to lose 13 more lbs. by July. She said that I'd probably be close. Oh! I was so discouraged! Then I realized it's almost May and that gives me a bit over 2 months to lose the rest of the weight by my goal of one year after starting this diet. I'm determined to prove her wrong!!!

So food ...
B: Kashi and coffee 6.5 pts.
L: Apple (1 pt), Strawberries (1 pt.), quakes (1 pt), sandwich (3 pts.) - 6 pts.

For dinner I plan on eating chili. Hopefully, I ate enough at lunch that I won't need a protein bar this afternoon.

We have a glorious weekend with NO plans whatsoever! Yippee! Such a luxury. Hopefully, I will make it to Spin/Cycle in the morning and something on Sunday - maybe I'll walk the hills near my house since I did so well on the treadmill at an incline. I'll take my dog. We've been trying to pay special attention to her since she's clearly missing Lacey.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hey MO2! How's the chili? You got me craving some too. hehe I think I may have to make some chili soon. I was dropping lots of weight on my chili diet. haha

Personal trainers are great! I loved having them in the past. I hope you do show that one trainer up he made that comment about you "getting close." What does she know? You can totally do it!

Hey Laurel! Congratulations on getting in the great work out and getting a free session with a personal trainer! :D Don't worry about what that one said. You can get to your goal. 13 pounds in a little over two months is basically 6 pounds a month. Just a little over 1 pound a week! You can do it! :D

OK so answer this for me, WW gurus. Tonight I was driving friends back to their hotel after a nice visit (they're in town for a convention) and I thought, "Gosh, if I weren't on a diet, I'd swing by 31 Flavors and pick up ice cream!" So my question is, if I lose my weight, will I ever be able to do things like that? I certainly don't want to gain the weight back, but how does one handle maintenance? I figure I won't be able to work out as much as I do now - maybe 3 times a week or so since I hope to work one more day a week next year. What are your thoughts?

Ms. JB - I totally agree! I lost a ton of weight on the chili! I'm excited to have another pot of it. It is nice a filling, healthy, and I've gotten beyond feeling like I need to eat cornbread with it. Quakes do fine!! LOL! My mom brought us a big bowl of turkey soup that I'm looking forward to enjoying over the weekend.

Well, I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hey MO2! I think putting the jalapeno in my chili aided in my weight loss. I believe I read somewhere that spicy food is not only good for you, but it speeds up the metabolism. I'm going to make some chili soon. This time, I'll cook the beans long enough. lol Last time, my chili beans were a little on the firmer than softer side, but still good. Mmm, you've got homeade turkey soup made with love? Yumm!

So you said no cornbread but Quakes. What are Quakes? Is that oatmeal?

As for the ice cream comment and maintenance. I've been pondering the same ideas. Will I always have to deprive myself of life's little tastey sins here and there? You know, after doing this mathmatical approach and tracking my calories consumed and expended, I believe that you can eat that ice cream and not gain weight, only if you exercise those extra calories off. You mentioned not being able to get much exercise, so you'd probably have to skip a meal to have ice cream to keep it from sticking. On the other hand, when you do work out, if you do a lot of strength training, your new muscle will rev of your metabolism and burn more calories allowing you to consume extra. So perhaps you can pump more iron on the days you do get to work out, so you can have your ice cream and eat it too occassionaly?

Hi all!
OK - I got in a lot of exercise this morning: 20 minutes on the treadmill (11-incline, 3-speed); 1 hour of spin/cycle. It felt great! That makes 5 days this week. My goal!

Food ...
B: French toast - 1 slice, no butter or syrup; coffee - 8 pts.
L: Apple, quakes, turkey soup - 5 pts.

For dinner, I am having leftovers. Either clam linguini or chili.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hey there! Congrats on meeting your goal your doing great! Hope your having a great weekend! Doing anything exciting?? lol..

Hey Christina! This is actually the calm before the storm. The next few weeks are going to be crazy. We figure that we'd better take it easy this weekend to gear up. Plus spring break is over, so it's back to work tomorrow. Oh - we are going to paint a stone for Lacey and place on the spot where she died. So sad! We miss her like crazy! She was such a presence in our household.

Anyhow, so far I've had two eggs and two corn tortillas and coffee. I'm super full!!! I blew it last night and ate some ice cream. I also ate way too much clam linguini. Naughty me! so much for all the exercise.

Hey now.. your doing fine!! Look at how hard you worked out last week! You deserve something every now and then as long as it dosn't become a habit! lol.. Hope you have a great week!!

Thanks, Christina! This is just so difficult! I don't have to tell anyone on this board that, do I?? I really do have more sympathy and understanding for anyone who has some weight to lose. It's not easy at all.
This week I'm going to stop buying my lunch at work. That should help the diet and our budget as well. No exercise unless sorting through all of my daughters' clothes ALL day long counts!
So ... food for today.
B: 2 eggs, 2 corn tortillas, coffee - 7 pts.
Sn: Apple - 1 pt.
L: Popcorn (light, natural) - 3 pts.
D: Turkey chili, 1 cornbread muffin, diet root beer - 8 pts.
2 g/s cookies - ?? pts.

Sooo ... I guess I stayed within points, but it just felt like I ate total crap! And after blowing it last night w/ the super serving of linguini and ice cream, I just felt yucky. Oh well! Tomorrow's another day, right?

I hope everyone has a great Monday!

I hear ya on the feeling like crap after eating to much of something!! It feels so right (haha) when ya do it, and as soon as your done, ya go- holy hunnies, what did I just do to myself???
But you are absolutely right- tomorrow is a new day, and we can forget our accidents from today :)
have a good Monday :D

I did well today! I just didn't exercise, but I never do on Mondays. What I need to do is figure out a way to exercise on Sundays. That's my next hurdle!
Food for today ...
B: Kashi, Coffee 6.5 pts.
sn: apple 1 pt
L: Ham sandwich, quakes, diet root beer - 6 pts.
Sn: soy crisps - 2 pts.
D: Turkey soup, wheat toast, limeade, baked lays 8.5

So that's 24 points for today. Two off, but it seems ok.
