A new start for MommyOf2!!

Hey MO2! Glad to see you didn't have to move your ticker. What's your chili recipe again? I might try it. I found that I did well on the chili too. Seemed to satisfy me pretty well. I'm getting the chili itch. haha

One day I'm gonna go to a spinclass... Saturday mornings at the gym(where I work) theres a spin class that has I think 32 bikes, and seriously, people are signing up about three hours early just to beat everyone else..lol..its funny! Your doin great, glad ya didn't have to change your ticka!

Mornin' Laurel! Great job on the 156 :D (I cant' wait until I can see that number!) Love a good chili that you can munch when ya want :D I may just have to make a big ol' batch of mine since its gonna be cool here for the next week. Thanks for reminding me :D

Hope today goes well for ya! Keep up that great work :D

Ms. JB - Here's the chili recipe:

2 lbs. grd. turkey (cooked, removed grease)
2 onions well chopped
5-6 stalks of celery - chopped
1-2 green peppers (I don't add these since I don't like)
28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
8 oz. can tomato sauce
2 15-oz cans red kidney beans
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. pepper
3 tsp. red chili pepper

Combine all ingredients in crock pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours.

The flavor gets better with time! The leftovers are even better than the first sering. Enjoy!

Wow, that sounds great! Thank you. I will give it a try soon. Need to go shopping. I don't have a crockpot though, so I will have to use low heat on my wanna be stove top.

I agree, flavor does get better with time and leftovers do taste better. I wonder why that is? I notice that happens to when I make potato salad or spaghetti sauce. Tastes better the next day.

I'll let you know when I make the chili. I'll have to add some jalapenos. I like it spicy. lol

Let me know what you think of the recipe. I realize I didn't actually address my diet yet today - lol! I had a pretty good weekend. I'm pretty proud! Today I did an exercise video that was a pretty decent work-out, albeit out of date. On Cassie's recommendation, I finally ordered the Biggest Loser DVD. I hope I like it! On a whim, I also ordered a Billy Blanks Cardio Kick Tae Bo DVD. We''l see!

Food ...
2 eggs, 2 tortillas, coffee (7 pts.)
Apple, 2 oz. chicken, pretzals (5 pts.)
Iced tea (1 pt), carrots
Coffee w/ n/f milk and sugar-free vanilla (1 pt.)
Clam linguini, 10 quakes, diet root beer (10 pts. ??)
24 pts. Under if my work-out counts for more than 2 pts. which I think it does. Yippee!

I'm so motivated! I'm determined to have an outstanding week: my Mother's Day present to m yself. Yee haw! I hope everyone else is with me!

I'm with you, this week is going to be a great one!!!!

You are doing so fantastic, keep up the great work!

:D

Laurel, its gonna be a GREAT week!!! :D Both of those workouts are fun and I use them both (which one depends on the time I have) - if you can take kickboxing, you can do these and will enjoy them :D

Lets kick butt this week! We deserve it! :D

Hey Laurel! I have some of those older tae bo videos. They are pretty good. When I was trying to do them, I lived in an upstairs apartment so it didn't work so well. Before I broke my leg, I had the best intentions of doing them but it seems to only work if you actually put the tape in and turn it on! ;) :p

Cassie - You have both?? Cool! I'll definitely inquire.
HH - I'm not sure how old the tae bo DVD is. I wanna say 2003.
And my fellow Mom of 2 - yep! We're going to have a great week!

OK - so I stood on the scale at work today (drum roll) .... 154.5!!!!!!!!!
Can you imagine??? I was just cheering over 156!! I hope it sticks. I was so good this weekend and last week.

No exercise for today. Food:

B: Kashi and coffee - 6.5 pts.
L: Chili - 5 pts., Quakes - 1 pt., diet coke (bad I know!) - 6 pts.
Sn: 2 Hershey kisses (bad, bad, bad) - anyone know how many pts? 3? 4? Apple - 1 pt.
D: Clam linguini, minutemade - 6.5

So what's that? 24 or so? I'm resisting the temptation to have a bowl of Cheerios before bed.

Wow it is just melting off....can you send some of that melting potion over my way please...:D

Way to go!!!!

Yay! Congratulations! You are going to be out of those 150s before you know it! :D

By the way, did you see my post to you (in my diary) about the WMs and the chickens? Lol! ;)

Hi all!
Well, I'm off to the gym this morning for Day 2 of the sub from hell while our teacher is in Australia. Yikes! I was sore till Saturday from her class last week. I just felt like a blob of ick and couldn't even lift my arms. I hope I survive today!
I'll post food later.

Laurel, did you survive your "sub from hell"? LOL I hope so :D Hope all went well for you today and you kicked butt :D (No pun intended :D LOL)

Go girl! Glad to see you lost some weight since I last checked on you. I can't believe how close you are getting to the 140s. Whoo hoo!! I'm so proud of you. WOrk it girl.

Hi girls! Down to 154 today. That's 31 lbs. I can't believe it. It seems too good to be true. Yay!
So - yes I survived the sub from hell. I don't think I'll be as sore as I was last year. I also ran for 20 minutes before class. It was great! I wasn't nearly as tired as when I started running on the treadmill. That was a good feeling.
Food for today:

B: Kashi and coffe - 6.5 pts.
Sn: 1/2 graham cracker - 1 pt. -??
L: Clam linguini - 4 pts., quakes - 2 pts., minutemade - .5 pts - 6.5 total
D: 3 tacos, diet root beer - 12 pts.
26 pts. total - I did okay considering the activity pts.

Tomorrow it's Kickboxing with Pierre! I'm sure I'll have an amusing story to entertain you with!

Hi all!
I seem to be sticking to 154, but I'm not changing my signature yet!!
Exercise today was good - KB with Pierre. Nothing eventful, he made the "inner whore" reference again, but other than that he was on his best behavior. He ate a lot for dinner yesterday, so he gave us a big-time cardio work-out. It was fantastic!! My dvds arrived today, so I'm excited to try them. Yippeee!!!!
Food ...
B: Kashi and coffee - 6.5 pts
L: Turkey, rice, vegies - 6 pts.
Sn: ONE chocoloate chip cookie (by biggest tempation of all) and a sip of my daughter's punch (pretty good considering the spread of food they had at the retirement party I went to! A year ago I would've eaten soooo much!! I was happy. I hope I stay this way.
For dinner, I plan on cooking turkey meatballs and angel hair pasta. Yum! I figure it'll be about 9 pts. That keeps me within my points if I give myself the activity points which I definitely earned!

Hey! I've been meaning to tell you this but I just keep forgetting. I've gotten used stuff on Amazon before. Most of it arrives quickly. I read somewhere that you got your stuff in today. That is awesome! 154 is great! I'll be so happy when I finally make it there. :D

Hi all!
I have to say. I told my 4 y.o. that if she watched my 2 y.o. while I did an exercise video that we could go stratigh to the park instead of stopping at the gym. And it sort of worked! I did the Boot Camp work-out on B.L. They pretty much left me alone until the end, but it worked! It was a pretty good work-out, too. I started out using 5 lb. weights - HA!! Quickly moved to 3 lb. unless they only required one and then I went back to 5 lbs. I just hate how cottage cheesy and stretch marked my tummy is!!!! I just looked at it during the push-ups and wanted to get sick. Can you say "Tummy Tuck"??????? (I won't do it, but I wish I could!) I am starting to notice the 31 lbs I've lost though. Yay!!!!
Anyhow, Cassie, I thought you'd appreciate that I did it! I liked the warm-up and the boot camp, but I thought the cool down was not stretchy enough. We do much more complicated stretches at my Tues. class and even after KB. Oh well! I try to remember them, but I just feel like a big idiot when I can't remember them to save my life. Why is that?????
Anyhow, I've exercise, showered, and I'm starting the day looking and feeling more civilized than I usually do when I spend the entire day in my work-out clothes and sweat from the a.m. LOL!
