OK - I think I figured it out. This is the part of calorie counting I don't like - when you're out, and are not sure how something was made.

CALORIES 1,622 Goal 1410 - 1760
CARBS 149 Goal 159 - 286
FAT 56 Goal 31 - 68
PROTEIN 73 Goal 35 - 154

This is the best guestimate I can do :)

Good Morning Debi,

Looks like you're back in the saddle and riding tall again ;)

Those get togethers can be rough calorie wise but it looks like you kept your wits about you. "Generally" Indian food is very good for you but like everything else your at the mercy of the cook. I wouldn't worry to much, as much as you walk you could live off of pie and cake lol....

I got my walk in this morning :)

5 miles in 65 minutes! I have it down to a 13 minute mile! It's still a lot compared to runners, but I don't dare run on my leg yet.

Good Morning T2 - Yes, I feel like I'm back in the saddle again! At least I'm in the wagon - I had *no* alcohol last night :D

Well, the cook is working on losing weight too - but man, I've never had such good Indian food!!

Oh, good thinking.
Just make sure it's not styrofoam...
You'd have to count the calories!

BTW my forum guru - what are all the new buttons (that I'm not sure if I *should* push) that are below are signatures for?

Just up and coming web communities. No harm in pushing on them if you're into more junk and registrations. I can't be bothered with them personally. Everyone is looking to make the next myspace big hit.

Aint that the truth.

m2m,
the first one links to digg.com a news blog if weird and interesting articles
the second is an online bookmarks place (so your bookmarks are always accessable or shareable)
The third is a tech blog like digg
and yeah the forth , oh no another newsy blog thing that nobody really gives two hoots about :D

M2M,

I have the same problem with counting calories. It's easy as long as I'm eating at home but it's so hard to do when I eat out. What I've been doing is allowing myself 2 meals out per week... I try to guess at the calories but it's not always easy. If I eat out more than twice I stick to stuff I know I can count or aim for something very low cal. It's kind of a bugger...

The calorie-count.com looks great... thanks! It even has restaurant items.

Hi You Guys!

I just bought a new watch for working out. The dress watch I've been wearing with a black analog face is just too loose, metal links, etc. The new watch is a Timex Ironman and it has a chronological lap feature with the ability to split the laps. It's very cool :D (Probably old news to a lot of you, but I haven't exactly looked at sports watches/equipment in oh, decades maybe!) ;)

I actually went to the store for a pedometer - my old one is a POS! The route I take in the morning is 5 miles. I've driven it with my car, I've also mapped it with mapmyrun.com (I LOVE that site). It's 5 miles. Yesterday, my pedometer said it was 3.7 and today it said it was 6.2. I need a new one.

The store I went to didn't have what I was looking for, but...I did start trying on the Nike+ shoes.

I get a good fit in a men's US size 9.5, it has a smaller toe box then the New Balance that I'm currently wearing - but I so LOVE the iPod Nano attachment technology! It's $30 bucks for the adapter and chip and $110 for the shoes.

It would make one hell of a pedometer ;)

I'm just not sure if I'm ready to go that route yet. In the meantime, I'll stick with mapmyrun.com!

That said, wishes, thanks for all the info on the buttons at the bottom of our posts.

Susan, I hear ya about going out - I'm pretty good when I go to a restaraunt, because I can generally get that information online. What stuffs me up is when I go to a friend's house and I don't know how they make the food ACK!

I did pretty well factoring in the calories using sparkpeople.com today...it's a good thing I don't go OUT to eat all that often!

Hope you're all having a good day :D

Wow! Not just for the speed, but for the combination of speed and distance. I sure have a long way to go to doing that much... you are quite the inspriation. :)

Enjoy your new watch-- may it serve you well during workouts!

I got my pedometer from Wal-Mart, about 7 bucks, calculates steps, distance and calories burned...in addition to of course having a clock.

Best 7 bucks I've spent! :D

OHD, what's the brand, do you know? Is it accurate?

It's "GOWalking" by Sportline and yes it's accurate. I checked it against one of the ladies' pedometer in my walking group and my walking trail...which my trainer at Curves measured with one of those wheel things.
