First off you are a killer in the walking thing I feel like baby
steps in compared to your's lol! 2nd your willpower is outstanding
that had to be so hard to do but you cant let all that hard work
for the week be ruined over a bad day! I tell ya when I have a bad
day I swear the scale says gained 2 lbs but it takes a week to lose
2 lbs crazy huh how the bad food work's NOT FAIR( throw's a hissy
fit) lol but eating healthier is the way to go if ya wanna live a long
time!!!!!!!
Congrats girl you rock!!!!!! Tammy
Thanks Tammy, I so hear ya on how fast we can gain weight! As for baby steps, hun, that's what I started out doing - when I first began walking, I could walk 1.5 to 2 miles and it would take about 45 minutes! I just kept increasing the distance and bettering the time little by little
You are too fellow walker!!
You are truly a motivator M2M.
Thanks Heidi

I find everyone on this site to be inspirational!
oh Niapage, I hear ya! I hate how fast you can stack the pounds on and then it takes forever just to lose one!! Bleh...
I don't know about that...Ever since I started drinking all this water, the pounds have been FALLING off - I can't wait for the Friday weigh in!!
Don't let being the only person walking bother you. If my 64 year old Landlady can participate and complete a triathlon while everyone else breezed past her, you can easily do this! And yes, I agree a medal is much better than a t shirt!
Thanks Mike - whenever I start having my doubts, I think of your landlady - that's what got me really considering things like this in the first place. You said such great words, that it isn't about 'winning' it's about 'finishing' Justing DOING it! I love that
LOL, I'm just picturing you winning this half marathon walking. I can just see the runners as you walk past them
LOL! Now wouldn't THAT be funny! Highly unlikely, but definitely funny
M how far is a half marithon and how long do you have to complete it?
Randy, a half marathon is 13.1 miles. The first one I'm looking at says you have to be able to walk a 16 minute mile minimum to complete the race in the time alotted. The other two races say you have to complete the race in just over 13 minutes per mile.
Half marathons that are for walkers too, seem to have a longer time limit to work with. I've had some 13 minute per mile sessions, but it's never been longer then a 5 mile walk. And that's the maximum time alottment, so it means that most everyone will be much faster then that!
I'm not really ready to start running. I'm a good 46 pounds over weight and I'm worried about what running would do to my joints at this point in my life and level of fitness. I'm not going to rule it out entirely yet
