You can't always get what you want (Athala's diary).

Hope you feel better tomorrow. Good that you decided to stick with the diet....I am coming to the conclusion that it is more important than exercise any way :)

I'm sorry for disappearing like that. :grouphug:

I haven't changed my sleep. Today I fell asleep at 12 Pm, and woke up around 8 Pm.

Haven't done any exercise, either (Or anything productive or meaningful, for that matter). Not eating too much, my intake is around 1000 - 1400 calories per day.

This is the weight log:

Monday 21 = 95.9 Kg.
Tuesday 22 = 94.7 Kg.
Wednesday 23 = 93.7 Kg.
Thursday 24 (Today) = 93.0 Kg.

I did ate two sausages today (Not the big ones used for BB Q's, but skinny ones). I was going to make some eggs, but I had not eaten since yesterday's night, and the sausages were ready to eat.

they have 100 calories each, according to the package, but family cooked them on a lot of oil, so it should be around 300 or 400 calories.

I'm around 1200 calories at the moment, but I don't think I'll eat more for today.

Right now, I need to focus on fixing my sleep, and exercising again.

My weight today was 92.4 Kg, that's 10.1 Kg or 22.2 lbs lost, since I started this diary on August 08.

When I first joined this forum, is was just for the sake of it, but, over time, I learned a lot here, and totally changed my approach and mindset towards weight loss, as the old ones failed miserably.

I'm glad I joined :). I doubt I would have been successful, had I not joined here. Or, at least, I wouldn't have been as successful as now.

I need to work on incorporating exercise again, as I have fallen off the wagon a bit, but I just wanted to thank everybody here. :grouphug:

Thanks Mandy. :)

I have great news! I just weighed myself at 91.4 Kg. That's 201.5 lbs, I'm almost on the 100's.

I also tried my "skinny" (For my standards) jeans, and I can fit in them. They are still pretty tight, but that's a lot of progress since 2 months ago, where they wouldn't go past my knees.

Well done Athala. I agree about the forum. What we offer one another is unconditional support & we understand the problems associated with being overweight. I, for one, like your input & can see many positive changes. It's good to take control of your health at an early age & hopefully you will make permanent changes to your lifestyle & not have weight issues when you're much older -like I have. Building self-esteem is the key I think, cheers, xo Cate

Thanks everybody. :grouphug:

After a week or so of not exercising, I started again today. I tried one of the yoga classes I used to do (Neither the hardest or easiest), and I struggled a bit more, but it's manageable.

I did notice something; the regular exercise helped me a lot with my rosacea/blushing or whatever my condition is called. I did notice a great improvement when I was doing regular activity.

On other news, I finally managed to fix my sleep. :)

Besides an "extra" cheat day I had, I managed to stick with my diet.

Here is the weight log;

October 19; 93.2 Kg. (Cheat day)
October 20; 95.0 Kg.
October 21; 95.9 Kg.
October 22; 94.7 Kg.
October 23; 93.7 Kg.
October 24; 93.0 Kg.
October 25; 92.4 Kg.
October 26; 92.2 Kg.
October 27; 91.4 Kg
October 28; ---
October 29; 90.9 Kg.
October 30; 91.4 Kg. (Cheat day)
October 31; 92.2 Kg. (Cheat day)
November 01; 93.3 Kg.
November 02; 92.8 Kg.
November 03; 91.8 Kg.

Now that my sleeping pattern is fixed (hopefully it will last), I need to focus on time management now. I also need to get back into exercising regularly. Take care everybody. :)

Good to see your sleep pattern fixed Athala. Baby steps- every positive change has a cumulative effect on our overall health. You take care too, xo Cate

Second day back at exercise. My weight this morning was 91.1 Kg, or 200.8 lbs. I'm about to cross the 200's barrier now.

I did the (of the ones I've tried so far) today... This one is not so "manageable" anymore...
:biggrinjester:

However, I made it to the end. I did it while fasted, so my performance could* have been affected a bit. Still, I'll try again on Wednesday, and this time I'll make sure to eat something! We'll see how it goes.

Right now I'm sitting at 770 calories and 22g of carbohydrates. Today is my grandmother birthday, hopefully I will be able to avoid eating cake and other stuff. If I do eat it, I'll be way over my carb limit.

Congrats on nearing the 200lb barrier! I just broke thought that very barrier last week. It's a very rewarding barrier to cross. :)

I'm glad that your sleeping pattern is back on track and that you're getting your exercise back in. Things can only get better for you going forward as long as you stay on this path. Keep it up! :)

Thanks Mandy. :)

Things didn't quite go as planned... I had some birthday cake and several other stuff (Not big amounts, but several different things), so this became a cheat day.

Now, since I stayed on plan for most of the day, I guess (and hope) this wasn't as bad as a "proper" (I.e: full) cheat day.

On the other hand, since I'm trying to induce and stay on ketosis* (Thus, my maximum of 50g of carbohydrates per day), this sets me back two or three days.

According to my weight log, it usually takes 3 - 4 days for my weight to "stabilize" after a cheat day, so my weight will be up again for the next few days. I won't weigh tomorrow, since I ate pretty late today, and the number would discourage me.

Furthermore, since I already used my cheat day of this week, and I want to take them on Saturdays, that means my next cheat day will be on Saturday 16, which is going to be somewhat bothersome.

This could* actually be beneficial. I assume a prolonged period on ketosis would be more effective than one "interrupted" every week by a cheat day.

This will delay me a little, but it's nothing that can't be fixed.

*Ketosis is a state on which the body metabolises fat for energy, as opposed to glucose from carbohydrates.

Well... All the food left from the birthday got the better of me today... Not happy with it.

But anyways, since I already skipped today, I'll just wait for tomorrow.

I'm in some kind of food coma right now...

I just saw a note about this on the news, and I thought it was interesting.

A Norwegian university made a calculator that supposedly gives you an estimate of your "fitness age", as opposed to your "real" or chronological age.

Probably won't tell me anything I don't know about my fitness condition (*Cough* Horrible! *Cough*), but I do find it to be at least interesting.

Anyways, you only need a measuring tape and your RHR (Resting heart rate), which you can measure with a bit of patience.

And to encourage you to try it, Here are my results (Which, by the way, are awful. and that's putting it nicely); :)

Well, as you may see, I represent a 48 years old person... Which is just ridiculous. (And bad, really, really bad.!)

Here is the link to the Calculator;

For measuring your RHR, you can use a free tool such as Online Stopwatch;

*Ouch* At least you're doing something about it Athala!! I felt too lazy to measure my waist so will have a look later & let you know. Cheers, Cate

Well... There is no way to say this... That birthday cake (Or, what's left of it) is proving to be a formidable adversary...

It already managed to get me off my plan 3 days on a row...

In my humble opinion, it's the hardest obstacle I've faced so far... My will bent at a cake... Unbelievable...

I weighed at 91.7 kg today, which isn't so bad considering the past days. However, the damn cake has, yet again, gotten me to waste today, so probably I'll be around 92 tomorrow.

P.s: Thanks for stopping by Cate! :)
I would certainly like to know other people's results on that calculator. :)

Birthday cake is one of my biggest weaknesses! I cannot have it around me. Unless the frosting is the kind that is sort of like whipped cream. I don't like that kind of cake. But butter cream or sugar frosting...oh my can I eat that! So you are not alone in your affinity for birthday cake! But it still looks like you are making great progress!

:hurray:

Thanks Jade. :)

Yesterday was a decent day. I finally managed to stay on plan, even though there was still some cake there, along with other stuff.

Ended the day at 1130 calories, 25g of carbohydrates and 44g of fiber.

I got a yoga class in, but I need to add some cardio (I'm thinking about doing shadow-boxing intervals again), and some resistance training as well.

So far, I've lost around 7 inches off my stomach. I still have a lot more to lose, but there is some noticeable difference now.
