You can't always get what you want (Athala's diary).

Sorry I have gotten way behind on your diary.

That evil birthday cake! How dare it veer you off course!

That website is interesting...not nice but interesting...my "fitness age" is 37. BOO! Considering I'm only 28 that sucks.

As for your progress though, you are doing great! Even with the evil birthday cake...7 inches lost is so awesome!!! Keep it up! :)

Thanks Cate. :)

Well... Today... Today was a semi-decent day. I did half a yoga class in the morning, had to stop for a moment (can't even remember the reason), and then I had lost my initial drive to exercise.

It's 9 Pm, and I'm a bit above 500 calories, 6g of carbohydrates and 25g of fiber. Lots of visits today. I'm waiting for them to leave so I can go to the kitchen... :willy_nilly:

Weight was 92.1 yesterday, and I'm back at 91.7 today.

I've been reading a lot on zero carb eating. I'm not really interested on it as a way of losing weight, as I seem to be doing just fine now; I'm more interested on which effect it may have on my skin condition (I really hate referring to it as "rosacea" so I'll just say 'skin condition' from now on).

I'll give it a try, sometime, and see what happens. I still have a lot of research to do, and, since I've been hanging around on 101.x for a while now, I don't want to compromise my weight loss until I "experience" some progress again.

Of course, staying too long on that 'way of eating' would leave me with some deficiencies, so, if I were to stay on it, I would have to add a multivitamin (I hope the price is reasonable, though), or come up with other ways to deal with that.

P.s: Happy weekend everybody! :grouphug:

Edit:
Thanks Icy. :)
I've finally gotten the food cravings under control (for the moment, at least).
And don't worry... I've gotten behind on everyone's diaries... :blush5:
Thanks for stopping by. :)

I skipped exercise today.

Even though I was planning to try zero carb eating in the future, I'm very eager about it, so I might as well start now.

There is an immense amount of information of information I have to go over, included some books (I.e: 'Not By Bread Alone' and 'The Fat Of The Land', both by Vilhjalmur Stefansson). Not only the books, but there is so much stuff online, it will take weeks to read it all.

Still, I find it to be a fascinating, fascinating subject.

Finished yesterday at around 1500 calories.

I got a bit careless with the sodium intake, though, around 3400 mg (could be a bit more). I didn't pay attention to it, but I'll be more careful today.

My weight this morning was 90.8 Kg. Not bad, definitely not bad, considering that I didn't exercise yesterday, and the obscene sodium intake.

I'm sitting at 560 calories at the moment. I'll update later. :)

-(Edit)-

Okay, I'm at 1260 calories right now, and I don't think I'll eat anything else today.

Didn't exercise. I'm feeling rather lethargic lately, as in, constant fatigue, wanting to sleep and yawning all day. Now, I know it can't be my change on diet, as this has been going for a while, before I switched.

I'm guessing either too few calories, or sleep deprivation. Even though I'm sleeping at a more sensible hour now, I still can't *stay* asleep, I'm getting only 5 or 6 hours.

Could be malnutrition, too, but I remember that since I started this journey (July 17), I had several periods feeling like this. I can't objectively say which one was worse, but I don't recall ever feeling specially "energetic".

Apparently (And I have no idea if this is true, it was just a random comment I stumbled across while reading other stuff), if you've had several years eating poorly and several deficiencies (You can be sure I did), food doesn't do much; you need to supplement the stuff.

My uncle brought me a multivitamin some time ago, but I never used the stuff. I still have it, and it can't hurt to try, right?
Still, I can't help but feeling uncomfortable (I.e: 'bad', 'guilty', 'dirty', etc.) for having to resort to this...

Anyways, it's 9:30 Pm, I guess I'll just take a shower and go to sleep. I have an appointment with an ophthalmologist tomorrow, and I don't want to go feeling all tired.

Have a good Monday, everybody.

Got a little more sleep today, but I'm still tired. I don't understand why I don't *STAY* asleep... I wake up several times for a very brief moment, but that keeps me from getting a decent rest.

Did some yoga today, but I haven't been able to keep a consistent schedule. Since I stopped for a week, and have been exercising on and off, I may have lost some of the 'conditioning' I had. I did the yoga fasted, which my have influenced performance as well.

Got a new low today; 89.8 Kg.

The appointment went fine. Now I need to go through the painful process of finding a frame that doesn't look awful on me...

Anyways, I didn't eat anything until 9 - 10 Pm today, so weight may be a bit higher in the morning.

I was a bit moody yesterday, as I had a very bad night.

Weight was 89.4 Kg.

Had to struggle a bit to not eat in the afternoon, and managed to finish the day around 1000 calories. Another meal would have added around 350 - 500 calories, which isn't that bad, but then I feel slightly 'guilty'.

Had a more decent night today.

The first time I weighed the scale gave me 89.4 again, but I weighed another 5 times, and all gave 89.0

That's it for now. Take care everybody. :grouphug:

-(Edit)-

I could swear I have less acne since going (pseudo) carnivore. I barely have anything on my face now.

Another thing I noticed; teeth are definitely whiter. I don't put much effort into them, but there is definitely a difference.

I'm around 700 calories at the moment. I still don't know if I'll have another meal.

I had a couple of nights where I couldn't stay asleep too. I just had a lot of my mind. Are you under any stress or worrying about something? I hope that whatever the issue is, it'll clear up for you. Rest is very important. :)

Mandy, I'm not feeling stressed right now, no. Neither I've started to thinking on a compulsive fashion (which happens sometimes, and always when I try to sleep...), so I don't know why.

Okay, I managed to stay on 700 calories (Yesterday). My weight was 88.7 Kg this morning (a 0.3 drop from yesterday).

a was uploaded the other day, so I decided to try it. Got it done relatively early in the morning. There is barely any cardio factor on this one, it's more focused on stretches and such.

Still, I liked it. Really calming, and it helped me a bit with the back (Which usually feels a bit sore).

On the other hand... I'm tired. I'm always tired and don't even know why! It's hard to get stuff done when feeling like this (And, sadly, I seem to feel pretty lethargic most of the time).

There is not much left to do for today. It's only 4:30 Pm, so I could do another yoga class, but that's unlikely. I need to work on some books, and probably use the rest of the time reading stuff.

Okay, I don't know how much calories I ate today, but it's definitely more than 700! :)

Ali uploaded , which I decided to try as well. Now, the video description said it was for beginners - It wasn't.

But thanks to that error I went ahead and did it. This video is far more intense than the other stuff, I could complete some of it, for had to modify or skip the rest.

I realized that I can do one-legged knee-tuck push ups (I have no idea of the name! :biggrinjester:). You see, only two months ago I could barely do 5 normal push ups... From the knees... Now I can do knee tuck push ups.

I'm not 100% ready to 'tackle' the intermediate/advanced classes, but I felt GREAT after that video.

Tomorrow I'll set some goals, a deadline, and a plan. Good day (Or night) everybody! :)

My weight was 88.1 Kg this morning. (a 0.6 drop from yesterday).

With the relative success of yesterday, I decided to go ahead and try a more advanced yoga class.

However, it had a lot of side planks, which I can't hold very well, so I stopped at around 10 minutes.

I decided to try something different and went ahead with the following video;

(That channel is pretty obscure, but worth checking, in my opinion)

(From video description)

2 rounds of 6 different exercises -- complete as fast as possible:
1.) Low Jacks -- 20 reps
2.) Jump Rope -- 40 reps
3.) Jump Lunges -- 20 reps
4.) One Leg Jump Rope -- Right Leg -- 20 reps
5.) Jump Squats -- 20 reps
6.) One Leg Jump Rope -- Left Leg -- 20 reps

A short workout, but pretty devastating. I skipped the jump lunges on the first round (as I can't perform them properly, yet), and substituted them with push ups on the second.

Uncle brought roasted chicken and french fries for dinner, so I had part of the chicken as a second meal (This actually saved me the trouble of having to cook meat for the second meal). I didn't touch the fries nor the soda.

The stuff is pretty salty, though. Hopefully it won't affect tomorrow's weight too much.

Saturday, November 16, 2013.

Indeed, the chicken 'sabotaged' my weight a little. 88.1 Kg, same as yesterday.

I won't do anything intense for today. I'll do a easy yoga class, and might try moving around a bit more, but nothing else.

Have a great weekend everybody.

Wow way to step up the exercise! It always feels so good to see progress. Push ups are tough and you have improved your ability there. Soon the side planks will be a part of your routine as well :)

Thanks Jade. :)

I was actually quite happy for being able to do the one leg push ups (If I remember correctly, they are called spider man or reptile push ups). I just did them at first, and it took me a while to realize I was doing them from the toes and with 1 leg. :)

Thanks for stopping by! :grouphug:

Well, Apparently I "managed" to "catch" a stomach bug. It took me a while to figure out what it was, but I guess that is the most probable.

So, I'll just [hopefully] sleep and rest a lot. I guess I'll just stay in bed and use that time to read the stuff I have pending.

As for today's weight, I weighed 3 or 4 times and it gave a 88.1 again. Then, 5 more times (Yes, I weight myself a lot of times to be sure) and it gave me 77.8. I just don't understand this scale... I didn't drop 0.3 Kg instantly...

Anyways, I hope you have a good week. Take care everybody. :grouphug:

Get well soon! I'd say just weigh once and go with it or average the different readings. Either way you are heading in the right direction and that is what counts.

You are doing great, awesome job on the exercising!

Hope the evil stomach bug passes quickly and you feel better soon.
