Yarm's No More Excuses!

Hey there!
I think that if all you can do is maintain than that will be wonderful.
You have been thu a whole heck of alot here lately and tho I can't say that I can understand everything, I think that I can say it would be very difficult to just jump right back in where you left off. Especially with the holidays right on top of us as well.
So....take your time and ease back into it.
Your still making wise decisions with your food choices and that is the biggest battle of all.

Day 138 (Wednesday)

As has been the way of things lately, it's been very crazy lately, including the past 2 days. Lots of running around, little sleep, and lots on my mind.

I'm disapointed that I can't seem to get off my duff and get ON the NT. I also don't understand why i've been slacking in the water department. THe food is OK- meaning I'm not bindging or pigging out, but need to be more careful. I have also sense those old familiar twangs/thoughts when eating some M & M's telling me to eat more, and just not worry about it and start over again in the new year, BUT I'M NOT FALLING FOR THAT! I recognise these signs now and although they are somewhat tempting, I am resisting the idea of "giving up" and not worry about my weightloss journey until after the holidays. NO WAY! I have come to far!!

Instead, I will compromise and be realistic about my goals at the current time. WIth the holidays and the trajic loss of Dad, it IS and WILL be difficult to focus on eating, exercise and water, but that does not mean it can't be done, at least a little anyway.

I hearby COMMIT to continue to journal EVERYDAY and drink 1/2 of my water bottle. I really hope to get back into my exercise routine, but finding the time is very difficult- I am up so late at night taking care of family, and house that I am too bushed in the am.

I feel bad that I know I am letting my team down for the CHristmas challenge, but I was over confident in thinking I could do so much, so soon.

ANYWAY . . the show must go on, the journey MUST continue!!

HI Yarmiah!!

I could have written your post, I feel as you feel right now. Although you seem to stay more on track than I do as far as the food department goes.i admire your strenght I can't say I am as strong when it comes saying no to food lately.... I am still exercising every day, not twice though.
I feel the same about letting my team down, but we can't focus on that.
I have been over-eating, and not just 100 cals or so, yesterday I ended up eating about 500 cal worth of nuts... I just couldn't stop myself... and have the same "I will focus in the New Years feeling"... At this point I am happy if I don't gain.
After reading your journal entry I just promised myself to try to focus a little better also. i feel like I am not the only one struggling with this.

The attitude is improving. It is hard without Dad, but know that he would want us to be happy and to celebrate, and I have to remember that the kids DESERVE to have a great Christmas season as well.

I posted in the Christmas challenge my goal for the remainder of the year. If I can maintain my current pattern and resist over eating, there is no reason I can't be 163(meaning anything under 164) by the 1st of the year.

Got up and headed to work early this am. Stopped at the dollar store for some bows n wrapping paper. Was planning on wrapping and doing laundry today, but only got the laundry done.
Did ok on eating, but little water and no exercise.

I'm beginning to think that maybe I should not be making all of these "promises" and commitments". Last week I "committed" to journaling and drinking water and have done little of both. I have been so busy at work and preparing for the holidays, that it leaves little time to log in. I am going back and trying to rmebmer what I ate these past few days. For the most part, it has been "ok", but know I have snacked on some treats here and there. Here is what I could recall and some does not have the calorie count as it is too difficult to figure out on my program atm (and I jsut dont have time lol) :

Day 145 (Wednesday)

A dreary day outside. Work was kinda slow as I was in our remote office and there is little to do there, and the computer is so SLOW!!:toetap05: I was glad to be at that location however, because I was able to run to the mall and grab a few ornaments. (I got a "DAD" ornament for myself to hang on my tree so Dad will be with me every Christmas that way, and after I got home, I thought I should get one for each of my siblings as well- as it turns out, they had exactly 5 left, just the amount I needed!)
I got home and was a little stressed. It seems I have no time for anything! So much to do yet! I have not wrapped but 2 gifts, the house is a wreck, the kitchen light is now broken, laundry is piling up, I have choir tonight (and busy the rest of the week). I'm sure greiving for Dad is contributing to the stress, as well as a general lack of sleep.
Oh yeah!- because I was not able to fall back asleep at 4am, I did end up gettin on the NT for 35 minutes, and it felt GOOD!. I drank about 1/3 of the water and did pretty good with the food intake.

Day 149 (Sunday)

Its Sunday morning, and I'm about to head off to church. I just had to stop by and post in my journal as I know I havnet done so in a few days. I did gain weight on the last weigh in of @2lbs, which isnt too bad considering. I know exactly what has caused the gain-I am out of routine. Luckily I'm not pigging out, but I am allowing too many treats, especially that caramel/drizzle popcorn at work. But I wont let my gain be the beginning of a backslide. I will be aware of what I eat over the next few days, even if I don't have time to journal. I won't wait until Jan 1st to get back into routine, there is no reason not to get back in earnest on the 26th.
 
Day 152 (Wednesday)

Well, it's Wednesday afternoon. I stepped on the scale today expecting a gain and I'm under 170, at 169.8 so that's not too bad really.
The holiday was pretty good, tho I had a few sad moments with having Dad to celebrate with this year.
I am pretty stressed for a number of reasons, primarily because I have a list of things I have to do in my head, but have no time in which to address any of them.
-Hubby wants a new HDTV
-if we get a new TV, we need a new stand, and have to get rid the old cabinet
-I have no room to move/put anything
-I need to rent a dumpster to clean out the utility room to make room
-I need to order firewood
-I need to call a tree service as a storm 2 weeks ago left dozens of branches on the property
-I have to call our window/door company to check on status of door and replace the weatherstripping
-I have to head to Mom's to help straighten her bills out
-I need to schedule an alignment for my car
-I am working 6 days a week, alone and the job normally takes 3 people to do
-I am due for my period any hour now
-the list goes on and on

So when I woke in a frenzy because I was stressed, I knew I had to get on the Nordik Trak to help- and it did.
It's a start, and hope to eat a little better. Just to work on water now. Will check back later!

Day 158 (Tuesday)

Happy New Year!

Time to get off your duff and back on track. I could feel bad habits trying to temp me . . like who cares, eat what you what because you can start over in the new year, etc etc. And while I did not really track what I was eating this past week, I did not fall for that or binge. I realize that eating healthy and being aware of what I'm consuming and how much I am consuming is paramount, and therefore will get back into the habit of tracking/journaling.

I will step on the scale tomorrow to see the damages, and be honest withmyself no matter the result. I do hope its still under 170lbs.

I have also signed up for the Jan challenge and hope I will be a better team mate than last challenge.

I was finally able to sleep in today and didnt get up till almost 11 30 am. I hope to have the energy to get on the NT tomorrow, but will get on it regardless of energy or not! lol I ate within my limit, drank a few glasses of water but did not get any exercise in. I'm rip-roaring ready to go and get back on track.

Everybody is dreading the icky scale thanks to the holiday
feasting/snacking,you'll do fine tho!I gained 9lbs geeesh but
I also started back on my healthy way yesterday and hoping
for a 185 weigh in from the 187 that it read yesterday morning,
I didn't move my ticker because it is on its way back down.

Day 159 (Wednesday)

8:00am: Well, I was a good girl and got up and did 35+ minutes on the Nordik Trak. I was a bit tired, but knew I HAD to get on it, and back into the habit of getting up and exercising as I know the chances diminish as the day progresses to get exercise later in the day. I also stepped on the scale = 168.8lbs. I'm actually pleased with this number, even if it is up but its only @ 2lbs up over the holidays and dealing with the loss of Dad. My official weigh in will be Friday when the January Challenge starts so hopefully I can skim a little more off by then.

7:45pm All in all a pretty good day. This afternoon however, my lower back started to ache. I'm not sure if its due to the exercise I did today or laying on the piece of crap sofa last night, or a combination of both. I do hope it clears up as I don't need a reason not to exercise tomorrow morning. OH YEAH!- I drank all my water today . . Go Me!

Hi Yarmiah, sorry I was not around much, the Holiday just took me and never let go.
Way to go on only gaining 2 lbs.. that's nothing compared to my gain. I joined the challenge as well and hoping to start it at 146 or so..
I am looking forward to being here for you in this journey as I re-evaluated my progress and the shape of my body and decided to try to push for a little more loss.

Glad to see that your gain was minimal.
I believe that I gained about 2 pounds. Maybe a smidge bit less. But I did all that in one week!!!
So good thing I didn't have to visit family for more than a few days or I would have really gained alot more. LOL!!!
Way to go on getting in on the challenges. Which ones are you in on? I joined up for Kimberly's Biggest Loser. Hopefully I won't be one of the first people kicked off. hahaha

Day 160 (Thursday)

11:45 am - Hmmm . .back still hurts quite a bit. I can not bend over at all, and hence was not able to get on teh NT today. I stopped at the store for pain reliever and it is helping a bit but I still feel it. If it is not better by tomorrow I will call the doctor.

I'm excited to be participating in the Biggest Loser challenge. I'm not familiar with most of my team mates, but look forward to making friends. Thise weeks challenge will be no sweets, which is not TOOO difficult, but I will miss my occasional snack of 100 cal pack cookies, and sugar free pudding.

ugh, I am so sorry about your back still bothering you. I hope it will go away soon!! I would definetely go to a doctor just to get it checked out.

Wow no sweets, I think I would have been eliminated after this week.. do not want to give up my occassional sweets. I went for the more mild V-day challenge.
I am sure you will do awesome!! What is your goal?
