Day 97 (Wednesday)

Another trip to Colora.(Where Mom & Dad live). Got up and exercised, headed to work for about an hour then off to meet Dad and take him to his Dr.s appt. He didnt take his pain meds, I'm still nto sure why, so by the time we got home, he was pretty miserable. After he settled I ran to pick up some prescriptions for him, grab some lunch at McDonalds for him (I have not been to a Mc D for over a year easy, but did not get anything there for me the food grosses me out), and hit Wal Mart to get him some sweatpants he asked for. (His clothes dont fit him well anymore, hes now down to 119lbs). I got back he ate, then rested while I was on the phone outside returning calls to counselors and family members. After I came in, had awoken and was in a depressed mood, talking about how everything was hopeless. I'm doing my best to help him thru that, and suggested he talk to his counselor again. I never had lunch but did have a slice of pizza and salad for dinner.
Oh yeah, I get my period next week, so that aint helping with my frame of mind and tummy either.

Day 106 (Friday)

Where to begin. I guess I have a new beginning in my life now without Dad. I had talked to him on the phone last Friday (after Thanksgiving) and he sounded about the same, and a few hours later Mom called saying he was rushed to the hospital in extreme pain. He died just before midnight Saturday night. I'll spare ya the rest of the details, just know that Dad was in misery and now he feels no pain at all, and that is a comfort to me.

Obviously, this weightloss as a MAIN focus has taken a backseat to deal with the death of Dad. I'm hoping to get back on track immediately. I have not really exercised or been able to focus on getting my water in, but happy to report that I have not used my grief as an excuse to over eat. On the contrary, I have not felt like eating at all. I'm either too distracted or feel like a have a huge rock in my gut. I realize not eating enough is not healthy either, which is why I'm looking to get back on track.

I'm headed up to spend the night with Mom tonight, but hope to get back on track in earnest Sunday.

Thank you all for your support, prayers and friendship. It helps to know so many care.

Welcome back, the best way of coping with grief is to try to resume your life's routine.. and I can see you are doing just that.
I am glad you are back and I can see your are back on track as weight loss goes as well.
I will be here for a little while and taking a break comes Christmas. I just had enough. I am at a weight I can live with even that it still not an "ideal" look for me..
But I will pop in from time to time to see how my friends are doing.

Day 107, 108 (Saturday/Sunday)

Still having alot of stress on what to do about Mom. She is over and hour a way, has medical issues and the underlying alcoholism. My siblings and I are to meet Tuesday night to discuss what options are avail and when to present them to Mom.

This protein thing for the Christmas Challenge is harder than I thought! I got close, but did not meet my mark of 86 grams. :toetap05: I packed my lunch and my water bottle for work on Monday. I did not journal my eating on Saturday but here is the log for Sunday. It is a bit long and confusing because it shows the grams of protien, carbs and fats. I beleive the protein in the last number.

Day 109 (Monday)

Well, I was planning on getting up and hopping on the NT for the first time in over a week, but for the FIRST time in about 2 months, I was getting some real sleep and decided to grab an extra half hour of it. My guess is I was able to get some restful sleep because I talked to my Mom last night and she sounded "ok" and told me it was ok/normal to worry, but I need not fret over her.

I tried to hit the protein gram mark and failed again! I assumed I was getting plenty of protein, but guess I better plan better. I did stay eat well other than that, and got my water in, for the first time in 2 weeks. I'm getting back on track!

Day 110, 111 (Tuesday, Wednesday)

Life continues to be busy. Not only with the worry/concern over Mom, but the holidays are upon us now as well. Tuesday I met with the siblings to discuss concerns and ideas on how to help Mom. Wednesday it snowed so work was slow and the kids got out early. I got alot of shopping done online Wednesday evening, as choir was canceled due to the weather.

Still having difficulty gettin the protein in for the challenge this week. Did good with water on Tuesday, but not so good on Wednesday. Eating was pretty good both days. I was able to get in exercise on Tuesday but didn't on Wednesday 8(.

Oh, I snuck a peek on the scale . . for the first time in adult memory, it was UNDER 165 at 164.8! I hope it will remain this low for weigh in on Saturday.

A pretty good day. Busy at work, busy at home. Actually got around to baking some cookies tonight and only had ONE!

Another NSV (non scale victory)= When working out on the NT, my thighs no longer rub together! :hurray:

I did "OK" on eating, I did get exercise in and got my water in, but the protein thing . . . not so much.

Day 133 (Friday)

Today was a little crazy, but compared to how things have been going the past few weeks, it was rather on the slow side LOL. The other receptionist did not come to work so I had to do it alone. I ran to TARGET on my lunch hour to pick up a few things. Got back to work and the computer was acting weird so I had to run a program that took over a half hour to repair the issue so I couldnt check out patients then.

I was doing pretty good with eating, but I did snack some on the popcorn that came as a gift from another office. I drank most of my water and did workout in the am.

Day 134, 135, 136 (Sat, Sun, Mon)

Hectic and rough few days. Started off with a small gain when stepping on the scale and was expecting a loss.

Then had to work early am, take DD out to buy gift for a friend then take her to the party for a sleep over, then off to Mom's but not before stopping at grocery store to buy food to make for supper there. Mom is doing "ok", but has her moments, and we are working with her to schedule appt to see dr. and hope to attend with her.

Sunday got up early to pick up DD and take them to church with me, then drop them off at sunday school. While they in schoo, I did a little shopping for supplies for wrapping. A rainy dreary day, but we got our tree anyway. Was a blue day for me- missing Dad alot today.

Monday I overslept so no exercise, and the older DD got sick. Took her to daycare and the other one to school. Then headed back to Mom's to help out some more with the particulars (insurance, life insurance, bank issues, etc). Rushed home to pick kids up, then run them for haircuts then back home for pizza as we promised to decorate the tree.

Have not had time to journal, and I know I ate more than my alloted calories for most of the past 3 days. No formal exercise and little water.
Last week a promising week to get back into a routine- so far this one a let down, but will do my best to turn it around!

Day 137 (Tuesday)

Well, I was gonna exercise and was goona journal, but of course did not get around to it. The good news is that the food today was good, it was just hard to journal, so I'll just list what I ate.

I guess I underestimated how quick and easy it would be to get back in the swing of things- I man its not even 3 weeks since Dad's passing. That and with all the holiday stuff to do, it can be overwhelming. I still hope to lose weight over the next few weeks, but will be happy if I'm at least able to maintain during this busy time of year.

Breakfast = instant oatmeal packet (maple/brownsugar)
Lunch = Fuddruckers Lite Market Toss Salad - no dressing (lettuce, tomatoe, grilled chicken, cheese, bacon, toasted almonds, boiled egg)
Dinner = Chik-Fil- A ceasar wrap - no dressing
Snack = Dark chocolate M & M's
