Xenon's diary....(enter if you dare :p)

yep, it is so you don't loose muscle and to repair muscle tissue when you have been working out. It is also good that protein keeps you feeling full for longer keeping a lot of cravings away :) . your body needs rest, you don't need to workout every day.

OMG I so pictured this: I would do it if I was alone at the office :D

:smilielol5: Well, it's really more like I move my body to the music while sitting in my desk chair. While I am alone in the office, there are windows (including on the door) and my boss is prone to walk through during the day.

but the grapes are the bitter death:ack2:

Oh man, you too? I bought a big bag of them and I can't eat them at all. It sucks, because they weren't cheap and I hate wasting food. Not to mention that I was counting on those for healthy snacks. :(

And yeah, like Trusylver said, the protein will help your muscles repair after exercising and help your body to burn more fat then muscle. It also tends to help you feel more full and satisfied. Great stuff!

I'll see with adding more proteins...thanks for the tip Trusylver :D I tried the Atkins diet for two days when it first came out and was a vegetarian for 7 years after that:nopity:...no lie! But I'll try to warm up to them....the proteins that is. I think I'll incorporate a variety of meats and do more protein shakes to make up for the lack.

Even my husband won't eat them! He packed some for lunch and brought them back home lolol. I wish the grape fairy would salvage them from the fridge and leave us $$$ in return :p

:svengo: Stick a fork in me coz I am done!

Here are my stats for 3/17:
CALORIES CARBS FAT PROTEIN
Totals: 906 84 24 54
Exercise time: 45 minutes low impact aerobics
Calories burned today: 577
Week goal for calories burned is 930, 785 calories burned this week only 145 to go!
5 glasses of water

I have been so busy with the little one. I exercised thinking I would have the chance to eat again and no such luck. I am really not happy about the calories today but I couldn't help it ....or the lack of sleep for that matter:svengo:

I'm going to check out Luzdafuzz and Mrs. Shadow's diaries to find some healthier options of increased calories. If you have any suggestions please feel free to drop them here.

Sorry for being short I am so tired!

What are you eating for snacks? I keep muffins (260cals) and oat slice(170cals) on hand to bump up my calories, or I'll have crackers with low fat cottage cheese to get in some protein... If it's a workout day and I know I'll need the extra I'll add cheese to everything lol, or I'll have a protein shake. The brand I use is Define which is yummmm!! You could also try higher calorie fruit? Like say strawberries are only about 80cals in an entire 250g punnet, but a banana is about 110? If you're eating bread you could change it for a larger or denser loaf, the bread would up the cals as it is but if it's bigger you'd need more fillings too :) Or if you tend to be a non snacker, just do a few simple things like get full fat versions of things rather than low fat- like with any dairy you eat.
Hope some of these suggestions help!! Lol I would drop dead on 906cals in a day!!!

O and bleh, I'm having trouble getting ANY nice fruit at the moment except for bananas!! Mandarins are watery, nectarines are sooo going out of season... had some nice rockmelon the other day though! Doing a bit of grocery shopping soon, going to see what pineapple is like right now :)

Do you like any nuts? Almonds are particularly good for you, full of healthy fats. They are like 400 calories for half a cup. And that would help with the protein too! There, a "two birds with one stone" solution for you. If almonds aren't your thing, most nuts have healthy fats with good protein and a little on the calorie dense side. You could measure out a serving in the morning and snack on them all day.

Just be sure not to get the honey coated or salted versions unless you have room for the extra sugar or salt.

luzdafuzz, could you let me know how the pineapple is? It's my favorite fruit, so if it's nice now maybe I can get that.

Hello

I am a semi vegetarian myself (meaning I eat dairy, chicken, some fish and eggs) I haven't touch read meats in about 15 years now, if you don't like the idea of eating meats ...Nuts are a great source of protein, also legumes like kidney beans, chick peas (yummy hummus) lentils, beans, there is also tofu that you can use in recepies instead of ground beef. There is alot of protein sources out there that come from vegetal sources that way you can keep the life style you want and still get the nutrients you need! I wish I needed to eat more calories lol! I know how hard it can be with lack of sleep my 1yrs old is teething and my 3yrs old is in her nightmare phases so nights are getting shorter and chocolat is looking better. Keep up the good work!

OMG updates are overdue!:willy_nilly:
I logged on sooo many times yesterday but couldn't finish my posts :p

Stats for yesterday 3/19:
CALORIES CARBS FAT PROTEIN
Totals: 1,576 164 54 79
Exercise time: 20 minutes walking while carrying my son (surely that should be more cals burned!)
Calories burned: 134
Week goal for calories burned is 930, 919 calories burned this week only 145 to go!
6 glasses of water

I got my calories up! Thanks for all your help everyone. They were about to go over because my husband didn't cook last night and wanted fast food....I was sooo hungry but luckily I resisted the temptation...well temptation because I was hungry and it is not low call...but I don't really like Mc Donald's so much. My husband was so happy that I did not order lol, but he did not say anything, just had this proud beaming look as if it was him that achieved something :p:p When we got back he fed the little one and I cooked some eggwhites (thx for the reminder Trusylver) with cheese and tomatoes, turkey bacon and I had a small piece of pita as well. After that we were busy with the little one for five more hours.

I want to write more, but I'm lazy haha :D

Good job for resisting the fast food! Even if you don't like McDonald's much, you were hungry and it was faster then going home and cooking, so that's great!

@ Luzzzz :D
For snacks I usually have strawberries, pita with hummus, salads or veggies. I never even considered muffins :D My favorite is chocolate chocolate chip...360 cals... talk about naughty! Still I might allow myself one on a low day ;). You really gave some good recommendations of things that I really like. Thank you! Well except the rock melon...that and yogurt are the bane of my existence :p

I cannot even begin to imagine you on 906 cals a day! I'm sure you burn like 4 times that amount!

I loooove fresh pineapple!!! But so odd the acid always burns my lips lolol

@Mizzie I really like almonds as well. I don't like salted or honey roasted nuts though, I prefer them plain and raw. There are some really good plain raw organic almonds here, so I'll be sure to pick some up. Thanks for the tip! :D

@Veronique OMG teething until 1:svengo: I completely lost sight of the fact that children need more than one or two teeth :p The amount of stress and suffering this first tooth is causing this little one :( I even started to think philosophical yesterday lolol about the suffering humans endure when new to the Earth.

A teething 1 yr old and a 3yr old with nightmares! OMG. I have to say though you are really doing well with everything, how do you manage to balance everything? I know you have more experience than I do, but really sometimes the dishes go a whole day without being washed  amongst other things. Do you make an agenda for yourself everyday or something?

Right now I'm not vegetarian. I used to be for a long time. I was lacto-ovo (milk and eggs) vegetarian, then lacto, then I went vegan. I really do not like to eat large amounts of meat still and sometimes I go without meats, chicken, fish, etc. for a week or so :p I think I'll be veg again, but I just have to work out my proteins...I had a deficiency last time. Thanks for your recommendation also..I love legumes and nuts. Lentils <3

Thanks Mizzie <3
Believe me it was not easy! But thinking about logging 2000+ cals and talking about it on my diary haha I could not rationalize a good way to cover for it :p

OH wanted to mention...I know I have not updated any weight loss because I'm waiting until the end of the month...I am really bad when the scale is around and I am trying to lose weight...sometimes I'm on it multiple times a day  It's in storage and I thought we would be going to get it this month, but it looks like the middle of next month, so I'll use the scale at publix the end of this month...

BUT

I have been seeing a difference. The other day I was walking and felt a cool breeze against my lower back and realised my skirt dropped to the middle of my hips! It's a good thing my skin is pretty back there :p haha I didn't consider any of this worth noting, but yesterday I was able to sit with one leg bent in front of me (like indian style) and the other bent behind me. I just did it naturally and then realised I was doing something I could not do in years lolol so I think I lost some weight :) Either that or I'm more flexible :p

YAY isn't it great when you start noticing all these small things that are just a nice bonus to losing weight? I mean obviously clothing gets too big lol but I mean being able to suddenly do something you couldn't before, or having so much more energy all the time? I'm loving having clear skin :biggrinjester:

Woohoo for getting your calories up!! I was actually vegetarian for 3 years, I was told my my doctor that it's normal for my blood group to go off meat (my mum is the only other person in my family that is A- and she's been a vegetarian since she had kids over 24years ago) I had to start eating it again also, I have low blood pressure which dropped lower with an iron deficiency, and I was having horrible dizzy spells whenever I had my period. Some days I'd wake up and the room was swimming! I still don't eat much red meat, maybe once a week for the iron, and apart from that I pretty much only eat chicken breast and seafood (OMG love seafood, I eat all of it!!) Can't stand anything else lol. I'm a big fusspot with meat!! Hubby was always a meat and 3 veg guy when we started going out, but he's happy to go without meat for a night now if I'm doing a vegetarian meal that he likes!

Lucy I got so excited when I read your post and I was thinking OH THAT EXPLAINS IT...then I remebered I'm AB- lolol. Could be why we have a difference in taste for rock melon :p

I'll post more later I'm so tired!

Hiya, skinny! Isn't it encouraging to know you are shrinking? Keep up the good work!

Thanks for sharing in the joy with me Luz :D Actually my skin is having more radiance and looks clearer since I've been eating even more healthy so I have to agree with you there :)

Finally an update!

o.k. so for 3/19 1344 cals, 8 glasses of water, no exercise.

Stats for 3/20:
CALORIES CARBS FAT PROTEIN
Totals: 1,321 206 16 85
Exercise time: 30 minutes walking
Calories burned: 280
Week goal for calories burned is 930, 1199 calories burned this week. Goal exceeded:willy_nilly:
7 glasses of water

I decided to up my cals a bit 1300-1400 on days not working out and 1500-1600 on workout days. I am usually awake 18-20 hours these days and I think I need a bit more calories coming in. @_@

I'm happy I exceeded my workout goal this week :D Goal for next week is 1250...I want to beat this week, but I don't want to overdo it :D I'm also adding in some strength training. Wish me luck!
