Hi!

120 lbs. is my goal weight. I don't really have a date set for this goal weight, it's just a weight I have in mind. I'm going to do it by eating less/eating right and exercising. As you might be able to tell from the ticker in my sig, I've already started! I'm 1 lb. shy of 20 lbs. lost!

Yesterday's exercise was 30 mins of Nintendo Wii Fit and how ever much time (all day?) playing with the nieces and nephew. I have an aerobics class today for an hour, so that accounts for my exercise today!

Today...

Hi!

I have a bridal shower to go to tomorrow and was hoping to be at a lower weight before going to it... hmmm. I'm sure I'll look like a cow in the dress I picked out.
Today I exercised this morning for 20 minutes and then I did some walking around noon for about half an hour. Was thinking to do more this evening, but so far I can't get my mom out of the living room to do more. Tomorrow is going to be a wash exercise-wise since I have the bridal shower. And the eating is probably going to be crap. I hope they have *something* healthy for me there. Salad, something.
So for breakfast this morning I had one cup of this crappy cereal that my mom bought for my niece (need to get my check and get to the store for better quality food!) not much of Silk Soy Milk. I kinda got some in my spoon, but didn't drink it down after the cereal was gone. Lunch was 100 cal popcorn. Not looking forward to dinner. It's always the biggest meal of the day. I take an Alli pill beforehand or after, depending on when I remember it.
Well, that's about it. Hope to get some feedback!

Went to the Bridal Shower

Hi!

Went to a bridal shower yesterday. I didn't really know anyone there, I was so nervous! Ate things I shouldn't have. A bit of salad... two cookies. Today's going to be a better day! The nieces aren't over today (I think!) so I can exercise up the whazoo! Exercise like a crazy woman :willy_nilly: What I really like to do, for some odd reason, is pump up the music and CLEAN! Maybe I'll do that today. Yay! Or maybe stick the earphones on my ears and go for a walk! I am not decided yet! Will let you know what I choose!

Hi WillLose,

Remember slow and steady wins the race. Anything fast and easy probably is a temporary fix. I am refining my lifestyle so I can do this "forever". I didnt see many calories in your posts. Your body will stop losing if you arent getting enough calories. Popcorn only for lunch....

Its awesome that you have great motivation, especially with the exercise.

Ick, I just weighed myself after drinking 32 oz water!?!? CRAZY. No wonder I was up a pound. Think I'll wait a bit and re-weigh. Duh.

It may seem like a small amount, but I figure that if I don't exercise that much, then I don't need to eat that much either. To tell you the truth, I don't know how many cals. I'm taking in in total. I'm really bad at math, so asking me to count them would be catastrophic:) I could try writing the foods I eat, here or elsewhere, just to get an idea. Is anyone else doing the same thing? I'll look around a bit more.

I just went shopping and bought a few "healthy" foods.. let's see if I recall what I bought... Umm some Greek Yogurt, nonfat...
FiberPlus Bars, two boxes...
Allbran Yogurt bites cereal so I don't have to eat the crappy cereal my mom buys for my nieces!:) Cheerios Multigrain too. It's my favorite, actually.

I think that was it. We're stocked up on fruits and veggies. Even the forbidden, shall I say it? shhh... it's Grapefruit! I'm not supposed to have it because of certain meds I'm on. I spoke to my dietitian and doctor, and they said as long as I took my meds way in the morning and then didn't have the Grapefruit until noon or after, then I shouldn't notice a difference. I haven't had a Grapefruit since I was put on Prozac almost 16 years ago (*pouts* me and my twin's birthday is coming up on May 26th!) 16 years without a Grapefruit or Grapefruit juice, which would be even worse. Umm... WHY DIDN'T THEY TELL ME THIS EARLIER??? :chillpill:

I think I'll have a Grapefruit for lunch today. hehe!

Exercise and food

Hi everyone :waving:

I know I post a lot, but heck, I like to talk! I thought that I would update you on what I've done so far today:

As for exercise, I did 30 mins on the Nintendo Wii, bowling and Wii Fit. I danced around a bit too, coffee jitters :) Around 10 a.m. I went grocery shopping for about 30 mins, and about 12 on I have been cleaning the house (it's almost 1:30 p.m.) I hope I can do some more Wii Fit later, but if I don't it's not really a big deal I guess. I still have to finish up cleaning the house. We're cleaning for my birthday!

For breakfast I had one cup crappy no-name cereal, and not quite one cup Silk Soy Milk.
Had a FiberPlus bar as a snack when I got home from the grocery store.
Lunch was a non-fat yogurt and a yummy cheese stick thingy.

dinner is t"o be announced"!

Hiya

It was pointed out that I don't exercise enough, so I looked around my room and broke out my mini-step machine and resistance bands! Wrapped one around the front bar of my mini-stepper (you'd have to see it, it's the bar in front of my feet), and warmed up a little, stretching and such. Then I turned on the music! I sang (well, after a couple of minutes I couldn't really sing anymore!)/danced/stepped and pulled on that resistance band for half an hour! Now i'm seriously sweaty and feeling all muscle-y!

I forgot to mention that I do take an aerobics class twice a week, an hour each. So I do get some exercise in there too.

Before I forget

Today's going to be a busy day, so I thought I would write down what I've done today so far before I forget.

For breakfast, I had non-fat Greek Yogurt with blueberries (added them myself!) and a fiberPlus bar. Thinking of having another fruit...

Already I have done 20 mins Wii Bowling, and my arm is feeling cool! You know, I actually bowl better left-handed? Odd, I know!

Well, that's all I have so far!

Hi! :waving:

Just sneaking in, in between appointments today to say that I was up to 153 lbs for a long time, and I am finally back to 152 lbs. today! Here's to seeing something under 150 lbs.!

Today is one of my two step aerobics classes! they're getting easier! I only have them until the beginning of June though, I think. I have to check. They're an hour each, twice a week, and they are pretty intense. When I don't go there, I do about 20 - 30 mins of step aerobics on my Wii Fit. I know, it's not the same, but I am thinking any kind of movement is good. The Wii Fit always tells me to slow down though! :)

Grabbing a Kashi Golean waffle and some fruit before heading off again. Will see you later!

Yes. I was obese as a teenager, and lost 100 lbs. Then more recently... about 50 lbs. off of 170 lbs, but I gained it all back. Now I'm back to losing!


Why do you believe that you gained the weight back?

Lack of exercising. Eating too much.


What has not helped you lose weight in the past and why do you think it didn't work?

Eating less and eating the right thing. Exercising more.


Would you try writing down all food and drinks that you consume?

Yes I would. That has helped tremendously in the past, now that I think about it.


How often and what do you cook at home?

I just make my own breakfast and lunch. We have a family dinner where my mom cooks.


How often do you go out to eat and where do you go?

I hardly ever go out.

Yogurt

I hardly ever go out, so I can't think of any

Eat more fruit

I would be about 115-120 lbs.!

I guess so... I try not to. I try to drink water instead.

Nopers.


Do you hide your food or eat in secret?

I don't like to eat in front of people, but I don't binge eat in secret or eat bad foods or anything like that... it's pretty healthy.


Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed?

I think I do. I think that's why I got as heavy as I am.

Nopers.


Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer?

TV, yes, computer, no. I know, we shouldn't have dinner in front of the television, but we've just gotten used to it, I guess:(

A starch and a fruit, as I'm finding out...:(

I like FiberOne or FiberPlus bars... anything with fiber in it, I guess...


What are you currently doing exercise wise?

I have an exercise class that I go to twice a week, and I exercise every morning for half an hour with the Wii Fit, doing step aerobics. I also like Wii Sports Bowling.

To my exercise class, or hehe... my living room:)

I hope that I will see the 140's soon... I am such a slow loser though. I think the thing is that I check my weight so often though. Maybe I should focus more on the weekly loss than the daily loss. That would make more sense, don't you think?

Anyway, I'm 151.5 today! Finally broke my stupid plateau! Hope it keeps on going! I wish I could get a new scale, but I'm living with my family at the moment, and I know they wouldn't go for that because I have no money... bummer. But my stupid scale is old and only measures in half pounds. I guess it's okay though. I'll live!

Job Interview Today!

Hi all!

Went for a job interview at a craft store today! I thought it went pretty well. She asked the normal questions and said she had a few more people to interview, so I would know by the middle of next week. I've been searching for about 6 months, and this is the first interview I've gotten. It's really been crappy lately. I hope they hire me. And I hope I'm good at the job.

151.0 lbs. today. Went to my aerobics class yesterday and got really dizzy. Not enough water? Too much? Don't know. Can't wait until I'm in the 140's though!

Probably not enough food - something with some protein in it about an hour before hand.

Hmm... I thought I ate enough yesterday. Of couse, I forgot to write it down. I don't recall what it was I had now.

I can tell you what I had today though. Breakfast was 1 cup Allbran Yogurt Bites Cereal and 1/2 cup or less (will have to try it dry next time) 2% milk (all we had in the house :( Gotta take a little drive to the grocery store again...
Lunch was a gardenburger with salsa on it (2 whole wheat "double fiber" slices of bread) and a peach.. so yummy!
I don't think I've had any snacks yet, but stick in an extra 100-200 cals in case I forgot something. Doc says it may be my meds that make me forget things. Sometimes I forget to eat! Honestly! It's no good! I can't remember anything these days.
I'll update you on dinner.

I just wanted to drop by and say hi! You have very ambitious goals! Keep up the good work.

YOu may have eaten enough calorie wise, but it might be a case of when you ate. You may have needed something to keep your blood sugar up before you went to work out. Everyone is different, but I know if I don't have something that combines protein and carbs about 30-45 mins before I work out, I either get dizzy and light-headed or I get sick.

Not everyone has the same issue. There are a lot of people who advocate working out "fasted" - i.e. first thing in the morning before eating, or waiting several hours after eating - but I can't do that. I've tried it and it never ends well. ;)

So experiment with when you eat things. Set aside maybe 100-150 calories to eat 45 mins before you go work out and try to make it an equal amount of carbs and protein. My usual snack (because it's easy and fast) is a small can of low-sodium v8 and a boiled egg. But you could do an apple and 1T of peanut butter, or a banana and peanut butter, or a slice of turkey on a piece of whole grain ... anything to raise your blood sugar a little and give your body something to work with while you're working out.
