Yes, the heat is killing me too. It was 45 degrees today. I was just about to shoot myself

Sorry to hear about your daughter not being able to sleep. Warm milk used to help me fall asleep too. If that didn't work, my mom used to rinse my feel with cold water. It did the trick. I think it has to do with your body being warm and restless and when there's cold water in your feet you are relieved. They also say that feet has direct connection to the brain or neurons. So maybe that would help?

Keeping my fingers crossed so that you get a good night's sleep tonight.

The not sleeping thing as been going on for months so it's not the heat, it's more about her being 3. At night she tries every trick in the book not to go to bed ....and then when she wakes up she wants hugs, and the more impatient I am the worst she is. A couple of weeks ago my mother in law babysat the kids and my daughter slept fine. I thinks it's mostly the more we argue during the waking hours the more insecure she feels and the more she wakes up.....but we are both hard headed and I am not about to let a 3yrs old take the drivers seat so I am hoping that the tantrums fade and sleep comes back so that my patience does too. Thank fully my baby boy is still at the stage that when he is tired he signs that he wants to sleep !!! Things will eventually get better I am hoping soon!
 
Good job staying on target yesterday. I understand how you feel about not getting any sleep. My 17 month old has an ear infection so I'm only getting about 3-4 hours a night. But it will get better for both of us. Keep up the good work this week.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope your little one feels better soon! Kids should never be aloud to be sick! Some days I am ok with out the sleep but other not so much!!!!! At least I get two 30 min naps on the bus !!!! Thank God for Public transportation! ( Also the bus I take is more like a coach bus not a city bus so the seats are very comfy, just in case people wondered how in the world ones sleeps on a bus)
 
Good Morning! So today is my 4th wedding anniversary and I was hoping to be at 166lb by today....I didn't meet my goal. I am ok with it, it would of been great to actually try on my dress but I am hoping that the loss last week meant the end of my plateau and that I will continu loosing 2lb a week is what I am aiming for so hopefully the progress keeps comming and I stay motivated! I guess time will tell. I noticed that my daughter always wakes up at the same times it's like she as an alarm in her head it's weird, but she woke up only 3 times last night so I think having talk with her help alot and this morning she didn't want to wake up she wanted to sleep more (she sounded like a teen) I told her you where in bed at 7:30 honney you didn't sleep till almost 9 that was your extra sleep time right there! I drank a protein shake last night in order not to go over my points but then my hubby started to eat chips and salsa so of course I ate some. Then I have a couple of slices of cheese. Then I decided that before I ate something else I would brush my teeth and shower and go to bed...I noticed that I get those snack attacks when I don't have protein in my breakfast that is when the need to snack hits me, usually I resist it but last night I was exausted and hot and I didn't have an ounce of will power left. At least I stoped it before I went for the chocolat right?

by the way, I wrote this in someone's diary, but a very effective technique
is to watch what happens before, during, and after you do this, and not to
judge yourself or even stop yourself from doing it, but instead carefully
observe the thoughts that go through your mind when this happens.

It is very interesting that you will discover that the presence that is able
to observe your thought process is something you might not even known
that existed inside of you, but this is what can help you in the future to
actually take control of this "process" so that you can make the best
possible "food" choices in the future instead of letting your mind sort of
trick you into choosing what you know you shouldn't be eating when you
are sticking to your weight loss program.
 
Happy Anniversary! It's too bad you didn't meet your goals, but I'm super glad to hear you aren't defeated by that! The thing about goals with time limits is that we don't always make it. That's ok, just have to keep going.

Glad to hear your daughter didn't wake you up quite as much last night. I know exactly what you mean about her acting like a teen in the morning. I have a 6yo and she's so darn hard to wake up in the mornings, I dread what she will be like as a teen! Of course, she's up at the crack of dawn on the weekends... (I'd put the eye rolling smilie here if anyone would be able to see it)

I remember with my son, everyone was talking about the terrible two's, but oh no, I think the three's were the worse. He really was into testing his limits then with temper tantrums and crying and things. He is now six, turning seven next month and is the worse to wake up in the morning. No matter how early he goes to bed, he wakes up moody. The things we mothers go through. Oh yeah, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!! Don't sweat that little smudge in your eating plan. It wipes clean with a new day. Take care!

The 2's where great she became a big sister and adapted so much better then I tought possible being very protective of her baby brother, the first time she met him he was about 48hrs old and we let het hold him she kissed his forhead and told him she loved him....WOW she was just 26 month herself I was expecting tantrums at that point not now!!!!She had to have them at some point right!!!! You just got to love being a mom!

Thank You, I just set that goal really to get myself out of my funk cause March and April where really bad months, and I did get down to 10lb over that goal so not to bad, I just need to keep going!

On the weekends she is up at 5 am and wants to go to bed at 4pm KIDS!!!!!

I totally agree! I do so much better when my schedule is busy and my mind can't wander to food.

Thank You! LOL you forgot about the whole bottle of wine lol!, then the handfull of chips but really I walked (my walking partner is back from sick leave but whe just wants to stroll, I will have to firgure a way to walk alonge at least twice a week!) and sweated a lot just from sitting, I wish I had a basement, there is one but it's a hair salon so I don't have space to work out. I hate complaining about the heat when I complained about the cold all winter but does it have to be so freaking humid! Done with the complaints.
I drank a lot of water today and I am doing my best to stay away from salt today. I have to take my measurments too!

You are so right I have to stop focusing on those two bad month. In May I got back into the right state of mind so June is gonna have to be a great month!!!! We are doing this!
 
Ok so I decided to revisit my goals! Ok so I am not 166lb so time to suck it up and make new goals! Originally in January I wanted to be at my goal weight by august.....that is in no way happening. So I need to set new goals for myself........Here it is!

I would like to be at around 155 - 149lb for mid august (My Bday is on the 14th) I was at 176 last week so I have about 11 wks left until then if I loose at least 2lb a week that is 22 lb makes 154lb attainable if I work at it, then I have until the end of the year to loose the remaining 25lb or so depending on when I decide to stop and maintain. Ok so that is my new plan, if I exceed then great if I need a bit more time also great I am mostly putting time limits so that I stay motivated!

As for your own situation: It is so disappointing not to make a goal. (I am certainly in that boat myself, as I am not going to make mine for the May Challenge) But it's great that you are just moving on and making new ones. When you've tried your best, it's the only thing to do.

This is what this website is all about, we are all on the same journey and we have got to stick together and see this trought!

[As for your own situation: It is so disappointing not to make a goal. (I am certainly in that boat myself, as I am not going to make mine for the May Challenge) But it's great that you are just moving on and making new ones. When you've tried your best, it's the only thing to do. !

It's good to challenge yourself, but if you don't make it you can't let it take you down. I know for March and April I just simply didn't mesure quantity and basically didn't workout so I got no results..this month I started being very strick with my portion size, and I started walking again, that help getting results, I know what I have to do...now I have to do it!
 
I love the heat......just not the humidity. I have been going on my regular walk at lunch time, even with this heat. It makes me drink more water so that is good! I must say that people here think I am crazy to go out and walk they tell me to wait till evening ...but I don't have time so I hopefully get used to this heat soon, usually at this time the weather warms slower we have time to get used to it ....not this year.


Humidity is awful, I agree! Yuck! Feels like I can't breath sometimes like I am in a hot sauna. Good for you for getting out there and just doing it even if it is hot! Go girl!
 
I LOVE the heat - we don't get much of it here, so as soon as the sun shows any sign of shining, we all strip down to our shorts anf t-shirts and blind everyone with our lily-white legs :)
