Well Wishes - she HAS to wear SOMEthing at work.
I'm almost sure of it ;)

Good thing those scrubs come with drawstrings!

Yeah, the hospital's dress code kinda frowns on nekkidness. Might think about it when the curves are ONLY in the right places, though!:p

The other pair of scrub pants (that I wore yesterday), were big when I first got them, but like you said, they had drawstrings. But they were at the point that no matter what I did, they were falling down. I needed like a large and a half, instead of an xlarge. But I don't think they make such a thing.

I think, though, that I'm going to download the scrub song - now that it's stuck in my head! Oh well. I do like the song.:p

Ok, so far, grapes for breakfast. It's 8:45 and I've already had a liter of water, so that's 4 cups down. There's just something about the hood I have to make IV's in that dries me out beyond belief.

hello, thanks for the supportive comment and welcoming! i read a little bit back in your journal so i wasnt just saying thanks and i wanted to relate a story to you.
In grade 10 gym ( i am now in 1st year in university) i had to buy these pants from the school for gym and i had to wear them. I had to get an XXL and i felt and looked bad in them, they were baggy in the waist and tight as anything on the thighs.
But i was forced to wear them everyday for 6 months.
Now i still wear them, but they are baggy and not just in the waist, but in my thighs too. I hadnt put them on for ages since i hated the fit, but a year and a half later i found them....
I think that these experiences are so rewarding!

It IS rewarding to see progress in non-scale related ways!!

Come to think about it, I have some old scrubs I'm going to go try on.......
:D

What is the scrub song??

You may have to start hemming down the scrubs just so you don't loose them at a bad time!:) A friend and I were in an elevator when I heard her exclaim "uh oh!" She had recently lost some weight and well.... she lost her slip in the elevator. It fell before she thought to catch it. She stepped out of it really quick, grabbed it up and stuffed it in her purse!

I think those are the times that our mom's were talking about when they told us to wear clean underwear.

The scrub song is kinda old - it was an R&B thing, I think. At least, that's how I'd qualify it, considering I really usually listen to country. In reality, she was ditching guys with no jobs who hit on girls in uncool ways - I think at one point she mentions him hanging out the window of his friend's car? Anyway, it was cute.

LOL about the clean underwear thing:D Something like that happened to hubby many years ago - we hadn't been dating long. Except instead of his underwear sticking out of his pants leg, it was mine! Apparently in some **ahem** haste the night before, and then trying to get dressed for school the next morning without waking me up, he didn't notice where my undies had landed and only noticed them sticking out of his pants leg before he got out of his truck to walk to class - thank god! Of course, that same day or the day before, we'd gotten several inches of snow, and I didn't have time to go home before I went to class myself (different colleges, different towns), so I had to walk in the cold wind, all commando-like! I didn't know what had happened to them until that night when he returned them.:p

Today has been ok.

Breakfast and a snack were grapes. About a cup and a half, all told. About 167 calories, I think is what SparkPeople said.

Lunch was a grilled turkey and cheese (provolone) sandwhich on white bread. 300+ calories.

Can you tell I don't have Spark open at the moment? LOL

Supper...well, I don't know yet. But I'm hungry, and have PLENTY of room for just about anything!

Went to the gym right after work. 20 mintues on the eliptical and 15 on the bike, plus weights. I'm tired and my arms are sore!:D

Tomorrow is 5 week measurements and weigh in. I sure hope it's better than last week was!

*comes in singing: I don't want no scrub, a scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me, hanging out the passenger side of his best friend's ride, trying to holla at me*

Uhhh... Sorry. ;) I used to love that song. :p

Hey txturtlegirl. You're doing really great.

I don't count my calories on Spark until the end of the day which is probably not the best thing to do, I have to think really hard about what I ate. But it always manages to be in calorie range.

Your menu sounds yummy. Good luck with the weigh in and measurement tomorrow. Tomorrow is my day as well.

THAT'S the song! I could hear it in my head, but couldn't get the right words to save my life! Thanks!

I have found that if I don't try to track what I eat as I go, I tend to forget something small. Like the fudge I had as a snack. I brought it in for the pharmacist I was supposed to work with today, but she called in sick, so I ate 2 small pieces and gave the rest to her skinny replacement!:p

Well, the recipe makes 3 pounds, and I usually double it - peanutbutter and chocolate fudge. But I didn't this time. Ran out of uumpf to make 2 types, so I just made peanutbutter and called it a night. I'd been promising the hubby I'd make him some since Thanksgiving, it was time to make good on it and get the stuff out of the house!

Peanut butter fudge is my all-time favorite!!!! Yum Yum! :D

Looks like you're doing excellent turtlegirl! Great job! Oh my, 12 pounds?!?! No, you may not catch up with me (at 17) haha!! **goes to exercise** :D j/k not really.

Have a great night!!!!!!

Hi tx:) just stopped by to say hello! Looks like things are going well! Congrats on 12lbs and the scrubs. I saved some choice cloths from my college days and I am hoping to fit into some of them again:D You are doing great!!!

Well, today at the gym didn't give quite the results I had hoped. Only down 1.5 pounds, and I know, I shouldn't say "only," but I was really hoping to have gotten rid of the "monthly" weight from last weeks weigh in! I've been good with food, well, except the fudge the other day, I've worked my butt off at the gym. I know I need to add more veggies, but bleah - there are so few I like the taste of! Aargh. Oh well.

Great job! Remember the weight from your "special visitor" is retained water and it will even itself out eventually. Don't sweat it!

Nothin wrong with 1.5 butit is discouraging I know when you were expecting different/better results...it will come when it is ready, dont worry...your doing good and your doing things right...slow and steady wins the race.!!!

Probably just in time for it to come right back next month. :/

Never bothered me before, but now it's causing the stupid ticker to move backwards! And I don't like that. :-|
