Trops Diary

Steal away, JZ. I'm in complete agreement with you.

Figured as much!!

Now on to jump rope... 422 jumps this morning!!! I am determined to hit 500!!! I HAVE to find a rope that counts for me, I think getting up in the count makes me nervous :willy_nilly: ... sounds stupid, but I really want to hit that 500 and every other 100 increment to 10,000!!! You know, jumping works the core as well... maybe just me due to all the extra gut bouncing, but when I get done with the JR, I feel it in my sides and back as well as my legs... again, maybe it's all the jiggling going on?!? Have a great one Trops.

I think jumping rope works it all. I feel it in my core and back and shoulders. It's mostly in my legs, though. :hurray:

I'm telling you, it's the hearts and all. I have no problem with the guy. :chillpill: (I've been looking for an excuse to use the :chillpill:. )

Wow, I haven't said anything here all weekend.

Midnights are tough to keep on schedule. Especially on weekends. I end up getting home and catching about 2-3 hours sleep, then get up and go do whatever the family is doing. If I can, I'll grab another 2 hours before work in the evening. I was reading an article that talked about sleep deprivation and weight loss and how it's just so very bad on many levels. I'm glad that I only do this 6 days a month (give or take).

Friday was my daughter's birthday party. I was running all over town before hand getting the last minute things done. I ended up not eating anything all day, then I picked up the pizzas and ice cream cake, and thought, "this won't be good." but I was actually pretty reserved. I didn't have any pizza or cake at the party, and the leftover pizza I had two slices. I would have had more, but there were only four slices left and I let the other two for my wife. Good thing she ate both or I might have gone back for the last one. :D

Saturday wasn't much better. I was running around all afternoon doing this and that, so come 2 PM I still hadn't eaten anything since the pizza the night before and again was starving. Not a good way to go. We picked up some sandwiches that were so unbelievably good. I had turkey with melted provolone, tomato, and roasted peppers on a fresh baked hard roll. Oh, was that good. I ate half and wrapped the rest up. I ended up eating the rest for dinner, but that was pretty much all I ate all day. Again, not good.

We did open a very nice bottle of wine, which I had two glasses. A real melt in your mouth 2003 Fume Blanc Reserve. It's one of those bottles that you spend more then you usually do and end up saving it for the right occasion which really never comes. Well, that's when I say what's a better occasion then spending the evening with your wife. Unfortunately it gets cut short because I had to go to work. :(

Yesterday was better, but for dinner my wife said that she wanted bratwurst. There was a Oktoberfest going on, which we skipped, but I got some brats and checked out the nutritional info and one brat has 17g of fat. :ack2: I picked it up for the family and I got some chicken breast for me. Grilled it all up and I didn't even touch the brats. It's easier when you know that it's not a little bad, but very bad. :cheers2:

The whole weekend went by and I did no exercise. No lifting, no cardio. nothing. Today looks like I'm not getting anything done till perhaps before work. Hopefully I'll be able to get some lifting in. After tomorrow I'm done with this shift and then my good shift starts. I always drop some good weight on the evening shift. I'm looking forward to that.

Ah so it wasn unhealthy enough for you to not touch it but yet ok for you to feed it to your family? :D Do you not like your family? :D

The way these kids move, they need the extra. Also, they will eat half a brat and call it a meal. Me, I'll easily down three or four. Of course, if I was doing maintenance I wouldn't have a problem eating one, but when I'm not working out, and still trying to lose, and going on sleep deprivation, I'll skip it.

I think you did GREAT this weekend considering! Like you, I had kids birthday parties too and I ate hamburgers, chips, dip, donutes, cake, ice cream... yeah so here's to a better WEEK for both of us! :cheers2:

I guess this weekend was birthday party time! sounds like you did a lot better than me as well. cupcakes, stuffed pizza slices, ice cream.....:svengo:

Hey Trops. Thought about our challenge this weekend... well mine anyways... about the jumproping. I saw a guy at a Hotel I was staying at with my kids for a soccer tournament jumping rope in the parking lot. I gotta say... he was pretty good. I think I counted 145-150 jumps in a minute. He was definately a fighter... at least looked like one... must have been the sweats and the hooded sweatshirt pulled over his face!!! I see you had parties this weekend... good job not over doing it.

Weight wise I'm actually down a bit, which for working the midnight shift is real good. I'm below 200 again, so I'm happy.

Hey you bratwurst dodging, grilled chicken eating, weight loss losing buddy! Sorry for the misprint in my diary lol... I stand corrected. ;)

No problems. I REALLY wanted those brats and didn't have a taste. It felt like it's own accomplishment. Now if I can only get to the gym tonight. :sifone:
