Trops Diary

I REALLY wanted those brats and didn't have a taste. It felt like it's own accomplishment. :sifone:
Own it baby, own it! You SHOULD be VERY PROUD of that accomplishment! It's definitely more than I can say for my sorry a** this past weekend! HA!

I wasn't too great this weekend either. I kinda felt like i was getting my appetite back anyways. I tried some really yummy pizza that I liked, and my friend made home-made wontons that I couldn't pass up.... Last night I made chicken spaghetti with whole grain pasta... Not too bad but I am sure as hell no chef, lol....

I'm done with midnight shift for a while. It seemed a bit longer this time, but that is most likely because the kids were off from school for most of those days, so I was really burning the candle at both ends. They are at school now, so I just finished a really good nap. Now I'll be set up for sleeping on a regular schedule.

I have to get to the gym. I really feel like I should go running, but I just don't have the energy for it today. Lifting I can always do something and get something out of it. Running I have to perform to feel like I did something.

Tonight I'm going to the city for a music show. Some business associate of my wife's invited us, so we are going. It should be a good show, but really I'd rather just hang out at home with the family. It is a band that I don't know, and when listening to the music, I was not overly impressed. I might have to drink a lot. I love going into the city, though, so it will be fun.

Just got back from lifting. I got a real good lift in, although a fast one. Some times I feel like I get a better workout when I just go fast. I'll jump from one exercise to the next, maxing out on every set, the only rest is setting up the weights. Next thing I know I'm done and shot and it's only been 30 min or less. My lifting has improved, so I'm happy with that. I'm also getting more consistent with it.

The bad news is that I just found out that I'm not going to the show tonight with my wife and her colleague. I'm going to dinner and the show with them and 7 other colleagues that I've never met. :banghead: Now I can't even drink too much. :nopity:

Oof! :svengo:

Sounds like a phenominal time!! Ever see Evan Almighty? When Steve Carrell slicks up his beard and hair and throws on a suit?!? That's kind of what I'm picturing. :D

Last night had some good and some bad. First the bad. Where we went was a Dim Sum restaurant. The food was so amazing. Not good for you and full of salt, but so tasty. Of course, some beer, too. Not too much because I was driving, but still it was good to have a couple.

It was tough to not stand out, though. There were four of us from the US, one from Greece, one from Peru, One from Argentina, and two from Korea. All of them in the same business and there was really not much talk except for business. They tried to include me, and they were all very nice, but I'm not a person who really likes to make talk about nothing. I'd much rather talk about things that are more real, but that can ruffle feathers, and you can't do that with people that F does business with.

The band was so much better then I thought they would be. Really kicked it out of the park. I was so glad to see them. It made me wonder why their CD was so mellow when their live show was anything but. I might have to give it another listen.

Nah, not a suit thing. That I can deal with a little. It's the "casual" that is tough. Casual is what I do every day. Dockers and Polo shirts? :ack2: Not me.

I hear ya bud. I'm in a shirt and tie everyday for the most part, and can't wait to get home and put on the cargo's and concert t-shirt!!! Well, and lately, the workout clothes as well.

good to see you wrangled your way through the outing and at least enjoyed the music. I've found a lot of the less well known bands I've heard are absolutely amazing live, and kind of less than great on CD. drives me nuts when I don't have the chance to see them on stage and have to settle for the cd player if I want to hear them. One of my favorite AZ Irish bands is like that. :( ah well.
Going back to a previous post about your speedy lifting session-that's what I usually do. I get all the burn of a good weight session in a small enough span of time that I can realistically fit it in every other day. Glad you enjoyed the benefits of it.
Hope you're having a good day today
Take care

Hello, all.

I am planning on doing some kind of workout today. Nothing too strenuous. I just donated platelets and I don't like to go too crazy with a workout after a donation. I think I'll do a good leg/ab workout and then try to get some low intensity cardio on the elliptical machine.

Shandy, I'm a big Irish music fan. What is this band that you are into? I love finding new Irish music. :drool5: The band that I'm part of is an Irish folk band.

Platelets? You're sweet! Take it easy and have a good day.

Ugh! I hate donating platelets. You sit there for nearly two hours and can't move either arm. Not a scratch or move or anything. :nopity: I hate it, but I know that there are people who would LOVE to have that as their problem instead of the real serious problems that they do have. Two hours of not moving is nothing compared. When I'm done, I get up and go.

Sorry to bring things down. I just hate to think about people who are in a really bad state. :smash:

The Clarevoyants. I don't think they're actually playing anymore, but they're on myspace if you wanted to search them out. I dated the lead singer for a bit so I haven't talked to them in a while (he was a little bitter I guess. ah well) still an amazing group, and they're fiddle player is PHENOMINAL. I've yet to meet someone better.
