Trops Diary

DKM is good. I haven't gotten into them too much. I've heard them online, but haven't downloaded anything. I probably should. They sound a lot like the Pogues. I love the Pogues.

I'll have to check that out. Although kissing random people is something I just don't do anymore. And now I'm not getting shitfaced. :( Am I sure this is going in the right direction?

Hmmm maybe I should donate platelets.....

It's not for everyone. I do recommend it to anyone who can because so many people really need it. For me, I'm just glad that no one I know needs it. I hope to keep it that way. (Karma, are you listening?)

Maybe I should just offer up my womb to a couple who can't conceive.....

I know a couple that used a surrogate for their kids. They (she) had triplets. I think they paid something like 15k for it, but it doesn't seem worth it to me. That's ok, though. I guess the world needs more Republicans, right?

Tonight I started to heat up leftover chili. My son said, "chili again?" You didn't have chili last night, you were at Grandmas. You had Chili on Monday. "No, we had chili at Grandmas." G, what did you guys have for dinner at Grandma's last night. "Chili." (in my head :cuss: ) take the chili off the stove. Now what. Guess it's fettuccine with mushroom sauce. I can't eat that. :cuss: Cook it up and head to the gym.

Not a bad workout considering I didn't want to use my arms at all. Legs and abs then elliptical machine. I did the thing where I keep my HR between 135 and 140 for a half hour. Pouring sweat, so it must be doing something, right?

Then I go home and I eat chili. :D

135 to 140 sounds like a pretty reasonable range for us old folks...

How ya been, looks like your still hittin' it pretty hard. Thanks for stopping in...

I was reading somewhere that if you keep your HR at that range you are doing aerobic work and burning fat. If it goes above that your muscles are doing anaerobic work and burning sugars, then the fat gets converted to sugar. I don't know if it's true, but usually when I run or if I'm jumping rope I'm up around 175-180. I'd like to find some conformation of this, but I have yet to see anything other then people just saying what they do.

Great INTENSITY Trops! I follow that train of thought as well... Get in, kick ass, get out! I should really get a heart rate monitor and track where I am at as well...

I got my heart rate monitor off ebay, new for about $35. I've seen them in stores for easily twice that and more. I'm sure that it's not 100% accurate, but it's close enough for me.

I went for a run today. I wasn't feeling so energetic, and I hadn't eaten very much, so I knew I'd be low on fuel, but rather then eat and then try to run on a full stomach I just went. Now normally I'll run a rout that I know each turn and bend and where each half mile mark is. This time I decided to run a different rout, just on a whim. I have no idea how far it was, but I ran for 35 min and was just beat. I should have kept on going, but I just stopped and walked for a while. I was disappointed with myself for walking, so after four min of walking I started running again. Damn, that's tough. getting going again when you are starting to cool down, my body just wanted to rest, but I pushed on. Total time was 55 min, with that 4 min of walking. Now I know for next time that I can do it, so I'll have to do it. :smash:

No way, I'm still making up for the Dim Sum. (damn that was good. I have to learn how to make that.)
