I haven't been to a movie theater in at least six years, and your story doesn't make me want to go back anytime soon! Great job with the run, I think your selling yourself short with the mileage though... You almost did six miles, right???

Wow - you're my hero for pushing back on someone being that obnoxious during the movies. The best I usually do is the dirty look. I don't get to the movies too often, but my general policy is to grab a matinee of something that's been out for a couple weeks, just to limit the amount of interaction with other people! I'm surprised there weren't any ushers wandering around.

Anyway, good run! Curious to hear about the battery change on the scale, I'm wondering about mine, too.

Is Napa cabbage salad basically the same thing as vinegar-based coleslaw? Looks like it from the one recipe I found.

Yay for insuckable guts! Also for great runs. Those major drops on the scale are really showing!

Congrats on your new longest run!!! Way to push yourself through what you thought was the wall to then discover untapped potential. You're doing great and your hard work really shows!!!

Hey Mystic! I remember reading your diary "Burlesque Babe" (not sure if you remember me tho!) Anyway, I'm glad I found your new diary! I can't believe what happened at the movies for you. That woman was way out of line! Good for you for standing up for yourself, too. I don't know I would have been able to do that!

Also, love your pic! You're looking awesome! I'm trying to get better at running myself, so it's really great to see your progress. Keep up the great work! :hurray:

Thanks guys.
We don't have ushers that wander around unfortunately. Would have killed for one. My bruise, though light in color is surprisingly large! I did a number to myself giving that 'woman' a piece of my mind!
We do have some theatres that offer reserved seating, but I'm not sure if it's only for new movies or what the deal is with that. I have done that twice (for 2 of the hunger game movies), but usually have chosen close to the top and near the middle as that is 'ideal seating' as far as viewing goes, but maybe I should choose the outer rows which have fewer seats, and an aisle seat to hopefully give me the highest chance of not being near talkers. It's ridiculous that it has to come to that though.
I'm not sure what is all in the Napa Cabbage salad as I have personally never made it, I've only had it when my mom has made it. It has ramen noodles in it. It's very good and I'm not a big salad person, it's a bit sweet.
I do remember you le_squish. Nice to see you back!

A big jump up to 159.8 this morning on the scales. Not a total shock as I wasn't sure the 157 weights would hold, but a hair disappointing. It's also the start of TOM which can funk up the scales a bit. Though I am 'very happy' (if one CAN be happy about TOM) to get it now rather than during my horse show as it's much easier to deal with when you are not on the go for 16 hours a day wearing white or beige tight pants.
Work was decent. My work computer died on Friday afternoon so it was a bit funky dealing without it. Thankfully I should have my new one going tomorrow.
Got to the barn just as they fed the horses their hay, which always sucks because my horse is 3rd on the totem pole. This means that when I bring him inside and work with him, the other horses are still munching on their hay. An hour later when I turn my horse back out, the other horses are finishing up their hay then go over and run my horse off of his hay. If I get to the barn before they feed I just ask them to leave all the horses hay out of the pasture and I just feed them all when I am done. So I decided to be quicker I would lunge Elis instead of ride. I was really worried that he would have been cold as the temperatures were down to -8 and snowing/wet and even though I had his heavy winter blanket on with a neck cover, he is completely clipped short now (in preparation for the show) so has no help from his coat. Thankfully he was still warm enough, though when I turn him back out I did add an extra liner under his winter blanket since it would be getting colder at night. He gave me some lovely work today on the lunge. He had been being a bit tense on the lunge for the last few weeks, when normally he's really good and relaxed, but it seems he's finally coming back to his normal self. Turned him back out and threw a few extra flakes of hay in to the field just to make sure he got enough food.
REALLY wasn't feeling like working out today. I spend a lot of brain power thinking about the movie theatre incident today, which I need to let go of. (It's the other people's problem (and my friend's problem) not mine) which I think was a bit draining mentally. Plus TOM, and I was just feeling tired and wanting to sit around and do nothing. I especially didn't want to do my circuit training which is what I really SHOULD be doing today, especially since I didn't even do it once last week.
I decided to compromise to make it easier to convince myself to do SOMETHING. I decided instead of having to go down to the gym and do something, and instead of needing to do 45-60 mins of something, I would stay in my apartment and do a Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 workout. About 35 mins, in a similar workout format to my tough mudder circuit training.
I could definitely tell my heart wasn't in it. I was surprised for how much working out I've been doing how hard I found some of it, but I also think some stuff felt harder just cause I really had no gumption. I made it through and finished it, but it certainly wouldn't be classified as a 'good' workout, especially in the sense of feeling good about it.

Lunch: Sour Cream Pork Chop
Supper: Pizza muffins (my sodium was sky high today haha)
Snacks: Mini Eggs, mini cream eggs, white cheddar popcorn
Total cals: 1479

I really need to add in some veggies or salads. I would love to make that napa cabbage salad, but salad ingredients go bad so quickly I have a hard time buying that stuff. I need to do something veggie like though, and trade it with some of my snack calories.

I also need to stop writing novels on here. No one wants to read a massive block of text when trying to make it through and comment on 10 different people's diaries everyday!

:D You´re quite welcome to write novels here! It´s your diary after all. Shame about the weight-raise but it´ll just make you happier to see the drop after that bastard TOM will have left town again. About your workout not being "good" or real or whatever: fake it till you make it. Better have halfhearted workouts every now and then than getting into the habit of skipping them when your heart isn´t in it!

This is such a great statement, I must have predicted this advice last week, because it was me to a 'T'.

Did I miss the news that you're training for a Tough Mudder? When's that happening?

Thanks guys.
Cate I think it's working because we should be up to 17* by friday! Which should make for good traveling weather to get to the show!
LJ, I entered it back in jan or feb I think. It doesn't happen till September.
159.2 this morning
Got my new computer for my shop today! Didn't take too long to set up but me and my mom had to spend some time entering the information for the last few days into my work program.
I was supposed to have a riding lesson at 6pm. I finished work at about 3 and really wanted to get a nice new sweater. I've been missing out on having a decent looking, but comfy sweater and decided to finally try to fix that. I went to Winners on my mom's advice. There was not a huge selection to choose from, however I did find quite a nice sweater that seemed to fit the bill. I also got a yoga towel as I had been slipping a bit on my yoga mat.
Just as I got to Winners my trainer texted me that she couldn't lesson till 7/7:30. This kinda threw off my plans for supper. I was planning on picking up Vietnamese food because I was sick and tired of the food in my house and I had to eat supper early as I had to leave for the barn by 4:45 to make my 6 lesson, then wouldn't be back till at least 8. But with my lesson time changed I wouldn't have to leave till 5:45-6:15, making eating at 4:15 a bit early. But I was still sick of the food in my house. So I debated back and forth on my drive. Suddenly I had an urging for sour cream muffins. Dunno why haha. So I drove home and made sour cream muffins with cinnamon. Not really 'supper' material but, meh, haha I had 3 for supper.
So I waited around till close to when I was gonna have to leave to make a 7o'clock lesson. I texted my trainer to see if the lesson was gonna be a 7 or 7:30. She was running late and said she'd try to 7:30, so I waited till when I would have to leave for that and texted to see if that was gonna work. She was still running way behind so I told her it was fine to not lesson today. My last 3 lessons went really well and I'm feeling pretty confident, plus it was a good day for him to have the day off because he worked yesterday, then will be ridden wed, thurs, fri, then have the day off saturday for travel, then straight into showing.
I lazed around for another hour or so, then suddenly got up the energy to go exercise. Finally had a good strong run. Instead of what I've been feeling a lot in the past few exercise sessions where I could hardly push myself to do what I plan, I kept pushing farther than my plan.
I started off at an incline of 3.0, but 10 mins in I bumped it up to 3.5 (which I think is the steepest I have done yet). I originally decided to run for 30 mins (including 2 min walk warm up), then suddenly decided to run for 35 mins, then 40 mins, then 45 mins!!! The only thing I couldn't do is my 2 min sprint, only lasted a bit over a min at 7.2 speed (still on my 3.5 incline). I then did my 5 min walk to cool. 50 mins total, 605 cal burn according to treadmill, 4.04 miles (6.5kms) which I think is the farthest 'hill' run I've done.
I plan to get some Napa Cabbage when I get back from my horse show and make some salads with it. At last pretend to be sorta healthy sometimes.

Lunch: Chicken Wrap
Supper: Sour Cream Muffins
Snack: Mini Eggs, Mini Cream Eggs, White Cheddar Popcorn
Total Cals: 1501

Thanks guys. 159 this morning
Work was alright. Had 5 small dogs, so got off early, around 2:30 I would guess.
Went to the barn and rode my horse. He was pretty decent. Finished off well. I had to check what the weather was gonna look like overnight and tomorrow so looked at the weather app on my phone and that's when it hit me that it's thursday tomorrow! Which means I only have 2 more days before we leave for the horse show!!! Crazy! Suddenly realized how much stuff I still have to do. Laundry for both me and my horse, unpack my show box of my 'everyday' tack (since I use my show box as my everyday box) so that I can repack it with my show stuff, and I have to pack up my stuff as well. I have to double check that I know where everything is and that I have everything I need.
After the barn I headed off to the feed store to get feed for during the horse show. Bought an extra small bucket, and some treats as well.
I wanted to get a new show saddle pad as my current grey show pad is turning reddish from washing it and sweat. They didn't have any selection so I went to another tack show. I ended up spending far too much money and left with a new belt (my current belt I bought last year for horse showing I bought too big by accident and I think I'm a bit thinner now than I was then so...), a new saddle pad, new hairnets (not expensive, but still), and a new down filled jacket for at the barn too. Not a big winter jacket but a bit more of an everyday jacket that looks pretty nice. The jacket was on sale, but was still 100 dollars.
I picked up vietnamese food on my way home as it was getting close to supper time.
As soon as I got home I started to do as much laundry as possible to get ready for the show. It really only took one load to get most things done, but I will need to do one load on friday to get the last of things cleaned (since I will need to wash the riding pants I still will wear today and tomorrow to ride).
Relaxed for a while until I left for yoga at 7:45. Debated back and forth between the 10 class pass and 20 class pass. 20 class pass is cheaper in the long run, but fronting 240 bucks after a day of spending money so finally settled on the 10 class pass. Had a decent session, unfortunately my new yoga towel was still in the dryer (still wet) so things were a bit slippery on my mat.
Came home and had my snacks. Grabbed up some more laundry so it's ready to go. I meant to fold my laundry from the dryer so that it wasn't wrinkled for packing, but it's past my bed time and I totally forgot so... not gonna happen.

Lunch: Chicken Wrap
Supper: Vietnamese
Snack: Sour Cream Muffin, mini eggs, mini cream eggs
Total Cals: 1495

Horses are a lot of work!!! You certainly have to have a lot of energy and motivation to do all that you do.

I know how much work it is for me to get my cars ready for car shows...and they just sit there. I can't imagine horses.

Thanks guys. It's less work than it seems. Just takes some time.
159.2 this morning. Seems like that 157 was just a fluke. Boo. Haha. Unless a massive drop at tomorrow's official weigh in I won't make my March weigh in challenge goal. But I did make my mini goal so can't be too unhappy.
Work didn't take too long today which was good because I knew I wanted to do most of my packing today to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I did my horse laundry at work so that was clean. It was my last day of work till after the show (well, last day of dog grooming work). After work I headed to the barn. Brought in all the stuff I needed to from my car.
Rode Elis, he was fairly good today. Did some work over some poles.
After I rode I started to work on packing. Had to go get some stuff out of my horse trailer, empty out my boxes before putting in my show stuff. Cleaning what I could as I went along. Have everything packed that I can but will still need to pull stuff out to ride tomorrow so can't check everything off my list.
After the barn I realized I had forgotten that I told the lady I am working for that I would pick something up at the tack store for her so had to immediately head over there to pick it up. Well she hadn't paid for it when she ordered it, and they wouldn't put it on her account as she didn't have a credit card on file so I had to pay for that out of my pocket. (She will pay me back I'm sure but still)
Then on the drive back... I got a speeding ticket!! Dang! Apparently I was going 30 over!! Thankfully he only made the ticket out for 15 over. I don't even know how I got up to that speed when I had just come off a stop light and was taking the exit off the overpass (so a fairly tight turn!) I was apparently going 100km/hr. 89 bucks. Geez. These last couple days are draining me of my money!
Picked up Subway as it was already getting close to 7pm and still don't feel like eating anything in my house.
No exercise today after a long day. But since I don't work tomorrow I plan to exercise first thing.

Lunch: Sour Cream Muffins
Supper: Subway
Snacks: Mini eggs, mini cream eggs, popcorn
Total Cals: 1499

Not sure what I'm gonna buy for groceries for my trip. I'm not sure how much I'm gonna let myself eat out, how much I'm gonna try to make my own food. I don't want to buy too many perishables and not eat them as that's wasting money, but I also want to eat a bit to plan. I plan to eat around 2000 cals a day (currently average 1700 cals based on weekly goals) so that it's a bit more maintenance, allows me a bit more leeway, but still a goal to stay under to keep me on track.
I'm gonna wander around the grocery store tomorrow, pick up things like granola bars, and try to get some ideas of what I could do.

I'm so envious of you! I love horses. Would you happen to have a picture to share? :)

Sorry about your speeding ticket. That always puts a damper on things. Good luck on shopping. I'm sure you'll be able to figure out a good eating plan. :)

Ok, today's weigh isn't 100% accurate because it was at around 9, not 7:30 (which also allowed for additional bathroom duties before weighing in) but whatever. Still, not a whole lot of loss, but I had a big drop last week so I will take it.

Starting weight: 183.5
Current Weight: 158.2 (-1)
First Mini Goal Weight: 160 by March 27 *Accomplished March 20th*
Second Mini Goal Weight: 144 by July 3
Final Goal Weigh: 125

Thanks Mandy. Here's a pic of me and my boy

A loss, is a loss, is a loss. Well done Mystic. Great photo. The 2 of you look as one, which I think is meant to happen. Enjoy your week-end!
