Time's a Wastin, and I'm Still Fat.

We had a bit of snow over the weekend after some warm weather, too... But it was just enough to break a record for our snowiest winter ever, so at least it counted for something, haha.

You are not lazy Mystic! You laugh at me saying I've been a lazy bones :) It's all comparative. I dreamt I was doing Tai Chi last night & the night before I woke up, after another dream & was tempted to get up, get dressed & go for a walk in the dark. Not very practical, living in the bush! My brain must think I need more exercise!

NOT doing well today. At all. Have had cravings all day, felt tired and lazy, so after work I didn't ride or workout. I got home and ate 800 cals worth of Mini Eggs. For supper I had my chicken wraps, but also 2 naan breads. Naan breads are nearly 800 cals for the 2.
I'm currently sitting at 2353 cals. If I can not eat for the rest of the day, and get a workout in, it won't be TOO bad. Still bad, but not completely ridiculous. If I could eat 1400 cals a day from tomorrow till friday, I would still have nearly 2000 cals for saturday and sunday. (That is of course IF I can stop eating for today!)

Feeling MUCH better about myself. After I wrote the above message, I got my fat lazy butt off the couch, changed into my gym gear and went for a 40 min (with 2 min walk warm up, 5 min walk cooldown), 3.28 mile (5.28km) hill run on the treadmill. I increased my pace from the last time I did hill work on this incline. I ran 23 mins at a speed of 5.0, then 9 mins at 5.5 (once my show ended at the 23 min mark of running I just switched to music and it was so uppity that I felt like increasing pace!) then a min sprint of 7.1 speed. Cal burn of 479. Incline of 3.0
And THEN, I grabbed my yoga mat and headed to the 8pm Hot Yoga Foundations class (which ended up being more of a Flow class). 75 mins of hot yoga was hard after a run. It was hot in there today as it was, combined with being a bit warm yet from running, I almost thought I would have to step outside for a few moments I was getting so overheated!
Not only did I burn cals and work my muscles, but it kept my evening busy so I didn't boredom eat!
Go me!

Lunch: 1/2 enchilada
Snack: 800 cals worth of Mini Eggs
Supper: 2 naan bread with butter, chicken wrap
Total Cals: 2353

Again, it's not that I mind over eating on the rare occasion, it the giving into cravings and causing the snow ball affect.

Unfortunately I believe that I am out of any frozen lunch meals. This will make things difficult. I knew I should have made my lasagna on sunday but totally forgot. Now I'm gonna have busy evenings all week with very little to no chance to make anything. I might quickly pop a chicken in the oven to make a wrap for lunch for tomorrow.

By the way. Do not watch a movie with a sad ending while running. Running and crying is not only very difficult, but also embarrassing!

Applause. To me the biggest thing is to stop the spirals dead in their tracks. If you think I never messed up and ate too much of something those first two years when I lost 190 pounds, you'd be mistaken. But I succeeded because I never let the screwups stop me for very long. Back to the gym and back to watching what I ate, and they became a meaningless blip.

So again fantastic job on salvaging the day and not chucking in the towel on it. Proud.

There are going to be days that we cave. The important thing is not to get caught up on that one thing and bounce back and keep going. It's being consistent OVER TIME that gets results. A blip doesn't derail the overall trend so don't let it distract you from what you've been doing and will do over time. Give yourself a break and be flexible. That's where I've messed up in the past. I was so rigid in "every day" that if I messed up a day I said "heck with it" and let it derail me over time. Steady over time wins the race.

What movie did you end up watching? I wouldn't worry too much about caving in a little bit. Look at all that you've done and accomplished thus far. If anything you earned that wiggle room. I have no doubt you'll immediately get back on the path and it'll be a distant memory.

What Dude said - what movie made you cry while running?

Good job in beating Demon Sloth! That bugger gets me far too often.

I'm such a dork. I read the crying while running thing and couldn't figure out how you'd be watching a movie while running. I'd be nervous about tripping over something or getting hit by a car. Duh! Then it dawned on me you meant on a treadmill. I think I need to turn in for the night. LOL

I have to say I'm rather jealous. Horse back riding was one of my favorite things to do when I was a teenager. Before I packed on so much weight. I have nowhere to go now aside from an actual stable where you basically rent a horse to go on a guided trail ride. I miss the freedom of going on my own rides with horses I knew.

Thanks guys. The movie was "End of Watch".

Today was a long day. I could have been off work earlier, but I helped my groomer by bathing one of her dogs and I ended up bathing and grooming my own dog. Left work after 4:15 to head to the barn. Had an ok ride on Elis. The end was generally better than the beginning. Only got back home after 7:15. I was feeling pretty hungry on the way home. Had a single mini egg to put something in my mouth then changed and headed to the gym.

Went on the treadmill and it. was. horrible! I could hardly push myself to do what I did do, and it was not what I had intended to do. I initially started off thinking I could do 35 mins faster run (7mins of that is walking warmup/cooldown). Could not do it. So I tried to do a bit more of an incline with a slower run. Don't know how long I was able to keep that up for, but then dropped the incline by 0.5, had to take a walk break, then had to drop my run speed again, and take another walk break. Only did a total of 30 mins (including 7min walk warmup and cooldown). I maybe should have expected it after how hard it was to take the stairs up to my apartment when I got home.
I think the biggest reason was because I finished eating yesterday at 6:30 when I normally eat till 9pm, then I did 2 hard workouts afterwards.

However, did well on the eating front. That's the good thing about being busy all day, no time for boredom eating.
Lunch: Chicken Wrap
Supper: Honey/Miracle Whip Shrimp, Grilled Cheese
Snacks: Mini Eggs, 2 safeway cookies, popcorn
Total Cals: 1350

I looove End of Watch!! Such a good movie!!!

Haha you seem to have ducked in and commented on my diary while I was posting!

I'm pretty sure I cried at that movie too. But I was at home on the couch, haha. Some runs are just harder than others for no reason, but with yesterday's workout I'm sure your body was just ready for a rest day. You'll kill it next time, I bet.

Don't worry, for a moment I also imaged someone watching a movie thanks to some futuristic glasses while running in the street, then I realized that would be pretty stupid :willy_nilly:

Oh yeah, End of Watch can be a little intense for sure.

Sorry your run didn't go the way you wanted, my row, all 11 minutes of it, was about as bad a "High" intensity row as you could imagine, so we had the same issue it sounds like!

Thank guys. I've never had a 'bad run' like that since I started so it was a bit frustrating. But I'm glad I know what likely was the issue.
Today was, I dunno. Ok I guess haha. Work was ok. Got done around 3. Went grocery shopping. Bought lots of mini eggs, and mini cream eggs! I lunged my horse instead of riding. Made myself a yummy new pork chop recipe. Was very juicy and tasty. Planned to do some sort of exercise. Was thinking yoga at 8, but when 8 rolled around I hadn't gotten off the couch.
So just decided to relax for today. Should still get in my 5 days of exercise. Tomorrow will be day 3, then saturday and sunday.

Lunch: Chicken Wrap
Supper: Pork Chop and potato
Snack: Mini Eggs, white cheddar popcorn, mini cream eggs
Total Cals: 1399

I can't remember who said on their diary that they were going to see Insurgent, but it prompted me to get a friend to go to dinner and watch Insurgent on Saturday!

159.8 this morning. I may pop back into the 160's for my official weigh in tomorrow (though I hope not) but great to see it say the 150's
