awwww poor ferret, stretching does indeed top a LOT of problems. I tend to stretch as i do the exercise and right afterwards, if i wait till the end of the workout i forget (my workouts are about 1.5hours long)

Well tonight we had a BBQ, and i got introduced to a new food!
My friends brought a couple bunches of asparagus - now im not usually partial to it but ill eat it.
They cover it with a light mist of oil (pump spray), bit of salt and pepper then thrown on the BBQ. MAN they are ADDICTIVE! so morish! and so yummy!
My diet is definatly saved from BBQs now lol.

Took the race bike out for 15 minute spin, a hill i normally dread just FLEW by! it was EASY! Tomorrow im going hiking again :D

That sounds pretty good...I actually bought some asparagus to try, but it's still in the fridge. No BBQ today though, there's an inch or so of snow on the ground, and it's still coming down.:(

Good afternoon Dubyah - asparagus is one of my favorite veggies! Never trying it on the BBQ though. I'll have to try that.

Sounds like a great ride! Yay!! Enjoy your hike!!

Bitser - Bitser lots of things, All alloy super light racey stuff. The dude before me used to race and made it up himself. I scored it for $100 NZD (about $55USD).

Well its pissing down and there is a heavy rain warning - i guess we are not going tramping today :/

Oh well, means I can have my left over curry for lunch, and get some work done!

Hey Wishes!!! Sounds like your weekend was wet---that always sucks! Hope everything else went well!

Ended up going to lunch with family , im so full now i probably wont have much but soup for dinner :O

Ive only got like 200-500 calories for the rest of the day anyway so soup and toast works for me :)

This BLT i had had like craploads of mayo, bacon with fat and rind and everything you can imagine fatty. I only ended up eating half it becaose a) i knew it was gonna break my calories and b) it tasted pretty gross! :D

Howdy Dubyah!! Had to go back 3 pages just to find you! Gees..lol

Mmmm.. BLT sounds sooo good right now. I just had a bit of a no no for lunch, fried green tomatoes. But I used minimal olive oil and no egg, so it shouldn't be too bad.. expect for the fried part

There you are! Damn it, I couldn't find your diary for the longest time. checked page 1, 2, 3, 4.... I obviously need to stop skimming. lol

Awesome about the hill... it's always a big confidence booster when you can cream the evil hills.

anywho, was just curious how you're doing recently... planning on biking some more? btw, I'm so jealous whenever you post about cycling. I gotta win the lottery and by a home in oz or nz lol

Husband aniversary the other day and i did overeat a bit - but it wasnt a massive amount, just above my upper limit.

So i got a new wireless computer for the cycle yesterday. I biked the 9km to work and beat my husband who was driving (hah he got stuck in traffic), and today i got to work at the same time.
My max speed so far from first run with new computery thing is 50km per hour.
I assumed it would time how long it took me to do it but clearly it didnt - yesterday it took 23 mins to get here. its uphill and downhill.
Not sure how long it took today, but it took 35 mins to get home yesterday so ill try and beat that at least today :)
Sunday im going on a 20-40km ride with a group. Riding in a group kind of scares the bejeezus out of me. Im paranoid that somebody will stop suddenly in front of me or crash and ill end up getting hurt etc. I dont like being crowded. But i figure i better get used to it before the race as the beginning of the race is gonna be somewhat 1000x worse.

Mike: any suggestions for getting out of bunches or dealing with em?

Note to self: Must weigh myself, its been like a week!

Good job holding back at the buffet - I can't do that so I just stay away from them like the plague... Good Luck at weigh in!!

wishes, when dealing with a large peloton just make sure when drafting to stay behind their tires and not overlap. No quick movements, if your fading, don't slow down fast, let the bikes behind you adjust and go around. I would suggest you try to stay in the back anyways and get the full effect of the draft... I doubt the other cyclists would mind :)

Sunday sounds like a lot of fun... me without my passport :(

mike: the problem is that i suspect i will be faster than most though - i dont want to end up having to over take lots - though i suppose its easier to over take when they are spread out more.
Also being still fairly big they will probably use me for drafting lol :D

Also for a laugh - some dude at work came up to me and said "oh is that YOUR bike i saw" because he saw the helmet on my desk and then goes on to say "are you doing some 'get fit' thing or something, getting some cycling in"
and im like "ahh ive been going to the gym hard out now for 5 months and lifting weights and ive lost 35kg already ... did you really not notice?!"
Talk about blind :D

awesome... well if you plan on being in the front.... try to break away with a group. Take turns drafting, and conserve your energy for the final 500 meters. Then sprint to the finish.
