Hehe Im not sure ill be sprinting for any finish line, Unless I somehow make it to the top 10 or something :) (as if!)

Im debating lifting my seat a tad though, Im fine to peddle ok etc but after a while i get tingling in the toes and circulation cut off, if i take a foot off the peddle and shake it for just a second its magicly back. I suspect the seat is a little low and the back of the knees is cutting off the blood supply.

The thing is I dont want the end up not being able to touch the ground at all (atm i can use the end of the toes and JUST touch the ground).
Theres so many questions about stuff i wanna ask but i dont wanna feel like a complete moron asking them on the cycling forum im on, so im attempting to google it.

Oh on a brighter note i discovered the tyres i have are kevlar and cant get punctured :)

And on an evern brighter note! Im wearing my GOAL PANTS! that i bought like a couple months ago. I cant find the post now but i got them a fair while back now :)

generally you want your seat to be high enough where your leg has a little bend when you're peddle is down. If your hips start to wobble when your on the saddle it means you're seat is too high.

Ohhh! I finally got to the gym today. Dropped in to use their scales lol .. not workout! .. been cycling a lot so havnt needed the gym so much.

ANYWAY

Good news! Lost another kg finally *horaaaay!*
But to be honest, ive lost inches in the last couple weeks, not weight. I can *feel* the difference.

Anyway time to go edit the sig :D

Congratulations on the weight loss! Feeling the inches come off is a GREAT NSV, not to mention fitting in to clothes you bought just for when you CAN fit into them!

Way to go!

oh fitting into goal pants has got to take the cake...(no not cake:eek: !) and congrats on the loss wishes, you are really a go getter dude;) !!!!! STAR
ps any comment about getting sexy biker legs yet eh????

Well today was a hell day.
My son said i had to take some some place by 7.30am so i got up at 6 to get some printing of stickers (hes fund raising) and got that done then at 7 he goes "oh crap thats tomorrow .. today it starts at 9.30am!" so i had got up at 6 on a weekend for nothing. To top it off i drove 2 hours to pickup a painting and the lady wasnt there. Because i got my monthly early (oh so *thats* why i didnt loose last week) i had to stop like 50 times in the most dodgy toilets to pee!
And because I had run out of multi-vits earlier i had an iron crash so i was tired and grumpy and had to spend a bunch of money on iron pills etc.
then we went to a BBQ tonight and i overate majorly! It was mostly either meat (for the iron) or vege and fruit so go-go the negative calories. What tipped me over was the damned carrot cake. I love it but it so god damned high in calories!
If i hadnt had that i would have been within my range fine, i can only hope that the negative calories will help on this one :(

Im supposed to go cycling with a group tomorrow morning - maybe then i can burn a bunch off with a 1-2 hour hard out cycle. But since i gotta get up extra early i may end up skipping it, ill see how i feel on the day (and also depends on the weather) :)

Anyway going to bed now (10.20pm). Get some rest and let the iron stuff takje hold.

Cheers DQ, The encouragement you give is ALL good!

Well today is better, got up early, dropped son off, went to meet up at the bike shop with the other guys.
Introduced myself, had a chuckle at some of the more hard core (one dude had wheels worth $4k, the bike was imported and worth a *lot* more. (over 11k all up apparently).

Anyway i explained i was fairly newish - though fit. A few of the riders are also in the race in rotorua next weekend (but they are doing 2 laps and will be long gone).

So we went for a ride, i kept up for about 45 mins, the hills got me everytime :)
By the time I lost them i was half way anyway (we took the longest and most indirect route ato the end of a peninsula). so i rode back taking every diversion I could. I have to admit I wasnt riding as hard once i lost them, because I was by myself. I was just getting back to where we started when i popped a spoke.

Right after i got back to the van the other guys all tyurned up - turns out they had gone up another hill but basicly done the same route as me, I hadnt realized they took that detour which was why i lost them. So I did about 26km or so in 1.5 hours (of which the first half was done hard out and the second half more leasurely). I drank about 1.5 ltrs of water, and ate my banana when i got back.

Overall im happy with it - it was a little more hilly than the track im doing next weekend, and ive booked the bike in to get a tune up, and the spoke fixed, for friday. Im not overly keen to ride it with a broken spoke because of my weight so Ill probably just go to the gym this week instead of cycling to work.
Do extra cycling at the gym as well as weights :)

Anyway - kiddies birthday party time - signoff Liz :)

Good luck on your ride next weekend. I'm really impressed with your ride this weekend...pretty sure I would've passed out on those kills.

wow wishes you are unbelivable............did ya ever think you would be a hard core cycleist and kickin this kinda ass????? this has gotta make ya smile a bit;) ...........I would be stoked if i was u!!!!:D keep it up sista!!!!STAR

Howdy Dubyah!! Just stoppin in to see how you're doing! Sounds like a great ride - I can't wait to be able to get back on my bike... probably around March.. maybe..lol. Have a great day!!! Oh!! And don't forget to smile girly!! :D:D:D:D

Hey wishes, great to hear you had fun biking! By the looks of things you did pretty great! Awesome!

I laugh at the expensive bikes too. Last year during the triathlon one guy had a bike worth about 15K It was basically the same type the guys in the Tour De France would ride.... for a town triathlon? overkill? lol

Anywho, glad to hear you enjoyed yourself. Have a great weekend!
