This is the time

Well, I will log in here if that works out with this holiday but chances are I won't be online much for the next three weeks. We leave tomorrow morning and don't return until the 15 October. It's late here now so I don't want to stay on much tonight, either. While I'm gone my plan is to eat healthy but not too strictly, and I would like to maintain my weight, but if it increases a little I guess that may be part of the deal. I did read this week that part of the pattern that's seen in people who maintain a loss long term is that they don't change their habits much for holidays or weekends. Hmmm. Well we'll see I guess. Today was a low food day for me. Too much too do and too much adrenalin, plus that bit of extra latitude I've been giving myself to eat low this last couple of weeks. I had a normal breakfast, a small salad with a piece of cheese for lunch and some takeaway skinfree chicken, and salad and a piece of toast with jam, for dinner. I walked for half an hour and I stretched for twenty minutes. Also I ran around and around and packed and packed and cleaned a little, and I've pretty well had it now. I am kinda hoping the next few days include something a little more interesting than that. :D I think I've done everything I planned. I guess what I didn't plan for will have to be fixed while we holiday!

I hope I will return to a bunch of slimmer, fitter friends!! Take care. :)

Hi and thank you! I'm sure this diary will look better than my house by the time I get back. :)
I hope you have fun over vacation. Don't worry if you don't lose... just try to maintain. Have lots of fun!!
Thank you. :) Trying to maintain is going to be a bit harder than usual that's for sure. I have eaten a whole bunch of rubbish already. I'm not trying too hard until we are over the hotels and things and can shop for ourselves, in a couple of days.

I realize you left the 'family truckster' at home but I still had to put this link in here as a reminder of your Beverly D'Angelo-ness.

Have fun !!
I'm pretty sure this post deserves more attention than I have time for this morning (for some reason this computer is downloading youtube at the rate of about one minute per second :D), and I will revisit it. Holiday Road or perhaps European Vacation [edit: wrong film I think - I meant the National Lampoon one where they visit Europe] is more like my life right now than you could imagine!! One 11 year old girl and one 14 year old boy, too many miles.... :D

welcome to NZ! :D
The weather is shocking atm here, but looks good for the rest of the week.
Thank you!! I am actually in the Blue Mountains in Australia today but New Zealand tomorrow - and I am pleased with that weather report!! We have had beautiful weather so far.

We just went to Katoomba, but what a buzz!! The sights around the Three Sisters were worth a look, but even better was when we walked nearby, and when we took a vertical rail down to the rainforest below. I walked around amazed.

*runs the vacuum*

*piles up more mail on the counter*

*locks up*
Yes!! Thank you!! How great to see everything looking so spick and span!! :D

I had to log on today to say that we finally went somewhere that there was supposed to be snow, and not only did it have snow but it actually snowed on us as we drove up the mountain!! And then stopped when we got to the top and let the children play with their skis in the sun. In fact *touches wood* we have had wonderful weather this whole trip. I loved getting to the snow and I was thrilled that we had fresh snow too. Thank goodness I didn't have to drive the campervan around those windy narrow roads up and down though, or maybe I should say thanks hubby. Anyway I reckon I could stand to have a whole holiday of snow, though we won't seek it out again. On the other hand I don't much like to be cold and I am now in a really cold place. Queenstown. Cold for me, anyhow. I just put all my warm clothes for the first time. But everywhere we go is beautiful. Like beautiful is the normal way here. And it is spring like I have never seen, with all the leaves just budding or just lightly laced over the trees and fruit trees blooming everywhere, and daffodils growing wild. And Queenstown is truly LOR country and that is pretty special too.

Eating well is a bridge too far for me. At least I know how to do it at home is all I can say for now. I can still fit into my clothes though.

I'm glad you're doing well and got to see some real snow :). When you're up at 5:30 AM to shovel out your car it does lose some charm ;-)

I doubt very much I would want to live with it!! :) Today it is creeping down the surrounding mountains though at our level is just boring mud-making rain! The novelty value is still great for now - I can see fresh snow out of the window of this room I'm in - still amazing. I am not wishing it to actually snow all the way down to our level because I see the sheep are shorn already and the plants also are unpacked ready for something a bit warmer. It is looking close though.

Oh Feli, it all sounds gorgeous!! Can you snap a few pictures to post for later?? I would love to see everything. I lived in Upstate NY for over 10 years, it snowed at least 6 months out of the year, and well I'm a sunshine girl, so after awhile it got to me, It's so pretty to visit, but I wouldn't want to live their in the winter months. I'm happy to see your having a great time!! You deserve it, so enjoy it all!

Thanks for the comments. I did a nice long reply post, clicked enter and it went who knows where? It was my waiting for the dryer time and that is over now! I do appreciate the comments!! We had more snow, and our plans were foiled somewhat, by a (thankfully distant, possibly controlled), avalanche. I have taken about 3 million photos of beautiful things, mostly mountains and flowers but sometimes sheep!! :D
