thanx sweety! it feels good to know that i can control what i eat and how much. the worst is going to be going out with friends tomorrow and friday. starbucks and nandos. gonna have to pik my foods wisely...:)

It is a good thing birthday's are only once a year!! I know they festivities can drag out to a "birthday week". LOL Try to do the best you can and just know that you can get right back at it on Saturday!! Consistency is what it is all about. Happy Birthday to you....

So glad you had a happy and healthy birthday. :hurray: At Starbucks if you stick to regular coffee with skim milk you should be fine. Also, they have their entire menu's nutritional info online, so you can check it out before you go so you'll know ahead of time what you'll have and how many cals it has. I think it's starbucks.com.

Also, I had to drive (so I couldn't drink much) for reasons I can't remember--not b/c I had too much to drink. And then to top it off, one of my tires went flat..lol And it was cold and snowing heavily. That's why it sucked. :biggrinjester:

i know it lasts forever sometimes. but i have to just concentrate on calories and getting some excercise in aswell. shouldn't be too difficult should it ;)

Today was a bit wierd. i woke up thinking i would have too many calories when i go out with my friend. i was so worried about it i didn't eat too much till 4 and even got myself on the treadmill so atleast i had done soem excercise. i wasn't hungry or anything by the time i went out but i had onli had 500cals. anyway went out but ended up just walking around town and just relaxing so didn't go starbucks. in the end had a millies cookie(190 cals!!) and came home. i was supposed to eat then but got a call from my cousin to go for a walk. so i went for a walk and by the time i got back it was 9:30 and i had only had 700 cals. so i treated myself to chocolate and cake and still stayed under 1600. not bad hehe.

My run on the treadmill was a bit less than last time. during the run my knee just went wierd and i had to stop and stretch it. it just gave way. my left leg was slower than my right. i think i might need to take a break from all the walking and running. might give it a rest tomorrow and get back to it on sat. saying that i still managed quiet well today. i was happy to get 3.6km in. today my parents were talking about capabilities and it came onto running and my dad was saying how only some people could be good at running and mom was saying anyone can achieve a high level if they try. so i asked them what they thought if i said one day i wanted to run the marathon. dad just dismissed it saying something like that would never be possible and we wont go there. i was a bit gutted. i think i want to increase my stamina and prove him wrong. mom on the other hand thinks i could win the thing if i wanted it bad enough. lol. talk about opposites. :D

meeting up with my friend was good. we had a lot to catch up on. she was my best friend in school until we went to uni (different unis). she is still one of my best friends so you can imagine we had a lot to talk about after not seeing each other properly for 3 years! on eof th ethings she told me was her anorexia phase recently. she has never been a big girl. she has always been borderline underweight so it really was a shock to me that she suffered from anorexia. she is over it now which is good and is putting on weight healthily. it just made me think how lucky i am to be able to lose weight healthily and be happy with myself the way i am.

on a more cheerful note...recently my brothers have decided to bulk up. don't ask me whyduring the summer. i think mostly because they have holidays. they have been coming to me for advice. i find it wierd because last year i wouldhave been the last person they would have come to about advice on excercise and food but they really seemed to appreciate and take on board what i told them. one of them has gone OTT and has been training twice a day. i told hm to take it easy. its good to have other people in the house on the same sort of journey.

As to the running, I say prove your mom right and your dad wrong..lol. I tend to agree with your mom that you can do whatever you put your mind to. Although I do think that in order to be a world class runner there has to be some genetice blessing there. However, I think that anyone can achieve a high level of fitness if they dedicate themselves to it.

Well done on the eating and exercise lately. :hurray: I think it's fantastic that your bros are coming to you for advice. :)

That guy I had the crush on, I haven't seen him in 15yrs..lol. He's probably bald and fat now. :D

i totally agree with you. i'm pretty sure i am not genetically blessed with the genes of running but i'm also pretty sure that if i put my mind to it i can actually run the 26.2miles one day. might have to do that sometime soon actually ;)

so as you can see today was not my most amazing days but yesterday was really good. i am sore after the walk...to be expected since i did run some of it. i have been ultre busy today. my school had a summer fayre and i was one of the main people so it was hectic. been on my feet all day making sure everything is running smoothly. so glad it is over and all went well. i think my calories have been high today mostly because of all the cake eating from the food stalls. people kept giving me food because i lokked like i didn't have time to eat (i didn't actually) so i was running around and eating at the same time. hehe. its all over now for another year. hope you all had a less hectic and better weekend :)

ooh i forgot tomorrow is measurement day. i hope i've lost some of my waist after all this walking this week. fingers crossed ;)
 
Good luck with the measurements tomorrow. With all the hard work you did last week, you should be proud of yourself regardless--especially since it was your birthday. :)

need to start doing more excercise. not been a good start and also need to drink morer water. today was my uncles birthday and we were sort of hosting it at my house and so it was really busy. with the rush i forgot to eat or drink. not very good but i get to munch on cake and chocolate now. hehe.
i lost half a cm after last week so that was good. i am back to my lowest measurement now. i wore a dress today which i haven't worn since last summer (july/august 2007) time and it was really loose on me. that was a plus. and also i got loads of compliments today from people about my looks and weight. one of my best days this year actually.

its been a bit of a high valorie low water and excercise sort of week. today was good though apart from the calories :(. but will sort that out with enough excercise. today was the first day i managed 4miles even though i had to stop and walk every now and then and then to make it worse we had a power cut (i think the treadmill got too hot - must remember to oil it ;)) so had to stop for a few mins while we sorted that out. i want to be able to run the 4miles in 30mins i think. will keep at it for a while and get there hopefully. hope you all are having a good week. :) x
