The Chronicles of BarbieZ ;-)

Hey, just remember TOM is whats doing most of that scale trickery on you. I know its so hard to stay OFF the scale, but you really should until this time passes! It only frustrates you more. Glad to see you are letting it motivate you! We are all rooting for you so keep on moving, you will get there!

Irritable pretty much sums up yesterday. ;)

I didn't mess up too bad - the only extras I had were a handful of pretzels, one tiny peanut butter cup, and 1/2 of a baked potato.

I only exercised for half an hour (instead of goal of one hour), but will make it up today, now that I feel a bit better. I'll do the brisk walk thing this morning, and then Rob & I are playing racqetball again tonight (which is MAJORLY exerting as I found out last week!).

Off to start my loads of chores today! :p

Well I applaud you and your ability not eat like mad during that TOM. It always gets me! :)

You are doing so well, so keep us posted I am throughly impressed!! :)

Hey Girl Hope Your Doing Good Have Missed You! Seems No Time For A Lot These Days!

Hey Girl I Been Slipping Didnt Know About The 5-htp But I May Try It Later If I Plateau Down The Line. Seems Different Things Work Different For Other People Anyways Hope Your Doing Good!

Thanks! Seems like something inside me changed the last part of November when I went on an almost 2 week binge. Monday through Friday is much simpler for me now (I take Saturday eve through Sunday eve off *dieting*), and I'll credit the 5-htp supplement I'm taking for that. Now, simpler does NOT mean easy all the time. Like yesterday, I still do have my struggles. :p

Thanks Tina! Yep, doing much better today than yesterday in the feelings department. I got a lot of *things to do* done today and am continuing to roll them right on out, so that probably has a lot to do with why I'm feeling better (I felt completely overwhelmed and irritable yesterday).

Off to the post office and the library...

Hey Sweetie sorry I havent been around. You have been in my thoughts though. I hope you are having a good stress free day so far today...LOL. Have a good one Hun.

I've only been up 2 hours, haven't done a THING, and I'm already tired! LOL

Actually, I woke up tired, but couldn't sleep anymore. I figure I'll take a doze this afternoon.

I did the brisk walk thing for 30 minutes yesterday, then we played racquetball for an hour last night. It's only the 2nd time in my life I've ever played, and my body is rebelling against using all those hidden muscles that haven't been touched in a long time!

So I've got some major achies and minor hurts going on today (mostly my racquet arm/shoulder and lower back on each side). I felt body slammed last week when we played too, so I imagine this will go on until these muscles get used to be used.

I have a lot to do today to continue to get ready for Xmas (my daughter's arriving tonight, and a bunch of family members coming over on Saturday), but I'm able to take it slow and easy -- no rush job here thank goodness. Mostly just cleaning, dusting, and getting out some more Xmas decorations.

Lucky me, most of dinner's already made - a big pot of hearty chicken soup. I think I'll run out for a fresh loaf of french bread later, and make a salad this morning to go with it.

It continues to amaze me how one can drastically change one's eating/drinking/exercise habits and yet the scale hardly moves (or stays the same!)... It just seems like it should go down a bit faster than it is!

Oh well, I guess it didn't pile on that fast either. As long as I continue to do what I'm doing, I should look great in a bikini again by spring vacation.

Typical M-F for me currently:

Morning - 2 oranges (am in an orange craze right now, even though there are apples and pears in the bin too)

Lunch - Big salad (McDonalds size, no croutons, bacon bits, just lettuces, cabbage, cilantro, radishes, carrots, broccoli, celery) with either a can of tuna or 2.5 oz. of meat on top; sprinkles of cheese sometimes; watered down Ranch dressing; cup of boullion

Afternoon snack - most of the time nothing; once in a while light low fat no sugar yogurt or a piece of fruit

Dinner - A protein (4-7 oz), A carb (sometimes 2 of 'em), and a salad or serving of grilled or steamed veggies (or both)

Combos of water, coffee, tea, diet soda, Crystal Light throughout

One hour of exercise sometime during the day

See? I should be losing like crazy, shouldn't I???? Sheesh! :p

12/28/05

The holidays and visiting with friends and family have just been super this year. :D I'm having a bit of a hard time getting back to *work* (on both diet/exercise and actual work -- I'm self employed).

BUT... the holidays aren't officially over yet as we have New Year's to get through this coming weekend, so I'm allowing myself to ease back in oh so gradually... with full back-to-work schedule coming next Wednesday.

I haven't done too badly since Christmas Eve, but some days I haven't done too great either (too much to eat and drink at times, and exercising a bit less). Although I haven't stepped on the scale, I believe I'm at least holding steady (crossing fingers!).

After December's hectic schedule (including diet and exercise), part of me is enjoying this week's lack of structure and easing up of *rules*. The other part of me is starting to gear up mentally for a full return of *routine* and looking forward to it.

On another positive note, I saw an info-mercial for Body Flex (see it at ) and thought it would be a wonderful addition to the cardio and aerobic exercise that I do now, so I ordered it.

New Year and new body, here I come! :D

A a web developer I fully understand the chalenge of being self employed, with the kids at home on school holidays I am not even going to try to get much work done untill they go back to school.

Hello Sweetie looks like you are busy busy. Well took a look at the bodyflex looks awesome. I would love to order one as well ...hhhmm Let me know how it works out for you. Holidays are so hard when losing weight I havent done too good either but they are almost over then you can focus on you. Hope you have a good day today sweetie.

Oooh Bodyflex, girl let us know how that goes! :) It sounds like it'll be a very nice addition to your work outs..

Lucky me - my kids are raised and on their own, and my stepkids now have companionship time with their dad here only every other weekend (plus extra time for holidays and whenever we want it).

So I don't have the same excuse! :) I notice I'm sleeping a lot more right now, so I must have worn myself out the last couple of weeks. I'm going with it right now... this too shall pass.

Do you have any websites you can point me to that you've done? That's so interesting!

Hey Julie! You're right - the holidays are tougher (I didn't do too well at Thanksgiving either... at least this time I'm doing better than back then!). And yes, the focus will be coming back to a more routine meal schedule and choices, and same for exercise.

I'm looking forward to my BodyFlex - I'll certainly keep you posted!

Hey girl looks like your doing good! Have a happy and safe New Year

Lost another pound 12/30/05

My stomach was looking and feeling smaller yesterday, so I decided to step on the scale this morning to see what (if anything) was going on weight-wise. Boy am I glad I did!

I lost another pound! I LOVE changing that ol' ticker.

I got so excited that I tried on a pair a black jeans I wore and looked good in last year... NO DICE darn it, but close! I'll be wearing those suckers within the next couple of weeks or less by gosh.

Like I said yesterday, I haven't been doing too bad this week, but haven't done real great either, and have exercised less. Now I don't feel so bad in taking this week easier! :D

We have my Rob's 2 boys for the holiday weekend (ages 11 & 14), and we decided it would be fun to stay at a local motel with an indoor pool as our family party and celebration for the new year (and SAFE - NO driving!). We'll be eating out for dinner and breakfast the new morning, so I've got to make a concentrated effort to WATCH IT.

Rob is taking me out tonight for our *alone* date, so I plan on really saving up some calories during the day for use tonight. I didn't exercise at all yesterday, so I'll be sure to be out hoofin' it today...

I probably won't be back in here till Monday or Tuesday morning, so I'll take this opportunity to wish everyone a SAFE and HAPPY New Year!

Happy New Year! Hope you have a great one... and congrats on that 1lb loss!! :) Great way to start off your new year!!
