Thanks everyone!
It's been a hectic few days. We had a bit of excitement on Sunday. My grandmother, aunt, and uncle were here visiting from out of state, so the kids and I had gone to meet them at my mothers for a visit when my husband called (he was on his way back from a shooting competition) to say he was driving down the gravel road and there was an ambulance in front of him. He wanted to know where we were at and if everything was ok. I was just telling him we were at my moms and everyone was fine when he said oh crap! They're pulling into our driveway - I gotta go! I asked my mother to keep the kids and I dashed back home just in time to see my father in law being hauled away by ambulance. He had been resting and woke up in severe pain. He said it felt like it was in his lungs and was afraid a blood clot was the cause. Turned out that he was passing a kidney stone. Oh, and to top it off, he may have shingles as well.
We had a really bad rain storm on Monday, and sometime around mid morning we realized we didn't have phone or internet any more. And the phone company wouldn't send anyone out to look at it because of the labor day holiday. Turns out that rain water had gotten into the wireless receiver somehow and shorted out our phone. They had it replaced before lunchtime today though.
The whole weekend was bad for food and exercise. Thursday was my rest day, so I didn't work out. Friday I was too lazy to lift weights. Saturday morning my oldest asked if we could have double chocolate chip muffins for breakfast. I make them from a mix, but use skim milk instead of water, and applesauce instead of oil. But they are still around 200 cals each. I had 3 of them for breakfast with a glass of skim milk.

iggy: And then ate the 2 that were left over that evening after the kids were in bed. And I was too lazy to go for my run. Sunday morning I ran 2 miles and walked 1 even though that's usually my rest day. Monday morning my 7 year old asked me if I would bake cookies with her since they had the day off from school. So we made 3 dozen peanut butter cookies. We ALL pigged out and by the end of the day there were 4 cookies left out of 36.

And I did my fair share of the pigging out. I planned to get the kids to bed early, then run on the treadmill, and maybe even do a bit extra since I was such an oinker with the cookies. But then my oldest suddenly remembered that she had homework to do that she'd left all weekend, PLUS she needed to dress up for her first basketball game the next day and hadn't found anything to wear yet. I swear that kid shot up 6 inches because none of the dresses she was wearing at the start of summer fit her now (too short). She's as skinny as a toothpick, though. One of my nieces had given her a bunch of clothes and dresses that she outgrew, but they all looked horrible on my daughter. The skirts that were long enough fell off her little waist. My niece is big boned and a bit chubby to boot, so the dresses may have fit my daughter length wise, but they just hung on her and looked aweful and baggy, but at least they wouldn't fall off like a skirt would. We found one that was the least 'saggy' and while she finished her homework I got out my sewing machine and took the dress in a bit.
By the time she was in bed it was past my bed time as well. I was beyond crabby by that point, so had a small glass of wine, said screw the run and went to bed.
So of course I should have known what to expect when I stepped on the scale this morning. 149.8
I really want to work out tonight, but I'm not sure I'll have time. My daughter has her first basketball game, then by the time we get home, have supper, get homework done, get everyone ready for bed, etc. it's going to be pretty late. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day for everything I need to get done, let alone work out.
If there are any busy moms out there who work full time, and still manage to find time to work out I'd love to know your secret! Otherwise could someone please direct me to where I put in my request for more hours to be added to the day? Thank you.
