That last 20 pounds, here we go!

Hi Sarah, Here I am sitting in front of the fire on a cold & wet Winter's day & there you are, not that far away talking about the heat & sweating. It is a funny world. I would settle for the middle all year 'round, with maybe just one month of Winter & 1 month of really hot Summer......in my perfect world *sigh*Hope your foot feels better tomorrow. It is great that we are back on track. I loved your "Go the 50's+" te he! Me, being all of 60! It is so funny as mostly I feel about 30 mentally, sometimes 18! xoxo Cate

I read about that heat wave that's going on. Hope you can find a way to keep cool. :p

What are you allowed and not allowed to do with the stress fracture?

So, after 1 week back on the serious diet, I'm down to 173.3 (~2.5 pound loss). Pretty happy with that! I'm still logging my calories, and I'm sure that it's the limiting my food after 6:00pm that is helping me make the progress, because even though I was 'under" using net calories (taking credit for exercise), I would have been over my 1600 calorie count for the day on most days if I ate the late night dinner...so I will continue this way for at least the rest of August, and then re-evaluate my ore meals...I think breakfast may be ..too big when I start eating dinner again..we'll see.
Today I did the elliptical again, and always feel good about that workout...I now do a type of interval training on that, which means I do 1 min really intense and fast, the. I just chug along for a min or two...then I hit it strong for a minute, etc...really gives me a workout without a lot of stress on my feet!
Good choices to all of you!

Hi Sarah, I might start doing that on my bike. I often do a couple of sprints, but I am always reading about interval training so should take more notice & try it. Logging feels good again...for the moment! Cheers, xo Cate

I thought I posted, but evidently it landed in nowhere land!
Today was a good day!
Eating: finished the day at 1488 cal and nothing after 6:00pm, no soda, no sweets (except some chewing gum), lots of good veggies and some fruits along with some healthy fats.
Exercise: started the day with an elliptical workout, and also did the stairs (from 8th where the fitness center is to 28th where my apartment is)...I do this at least once/week and it does help me keep my legs in shape and getting toned.
Good to be back on track...feeling focused and engaged!
Got an appointment for Thursday to get my blood work tested again this year, hoping to see my vitamin D up to normal levels, and my glucose levels down in normal...we'll see how my choices are impacting my health stats.
Good choices to all!

Sarah

Thanks Nostalgic!
I'm still feeling motivated and ready to get this last 20 off my bod!
Today was another good day. Happy Chinese valentines day!

Eating: did well, finished the day at 1584 cal total according to mfp, and now sipping hot green tea.
Motivation: good..feeling the more in control and starting to see the slimmer reflection I the mirror !
Exercise: another good elliptical day with some intervals, some weights (working on my back muscles and abs). Also getting a lot of steps according to fitbit..every day this week so far has been over 10k when I count the elliptical workout.
We can do it!

Sarah

Hi Sarah, thanks for stopping by my diary the other day. I'm finally getting down time to get all caught up on everyone's diaries so I wanted to be sure to stop by yours. You're a real inspiration! You must feel absolutely amazing after getting 100lb lighter. I hope you're extremely proud of your accomplishments thus far. I'm sure with your determination you'll reach your new goal soon. :)

Sounds like you're doing good with your food right now! I'm glad you're happy with the progress you're seeing as well. :]

Thanks Mandy, Cory and Nostalgic!
I'm actually quite proud about losing the 100 pounds and now trying to get those last 20 pounds off! I'm still very motivated after about 10 days on a re-energized regime!
Eating: happy with today's results, 1664 calories, respected my rules of nothing after 6:00pm, no sweets, no sodas, low carb and exercising so I'm good with today!
Exercise: 45 min on elliptical
Motivation: excellent..feeling thinner each day!
On my way to 150! Who's with me?!!

Yippee! Proud to report that my lab stats are great! Triglycerides are 54 (range of 0-152 is normal), HDL (good cholesterol) is high--good thing at 72 (47-63 is normal) and LDL (bad cholesterol) is low - good thing at 58.6 (normal is 80-120). Ther are some other numbers I don't understand, but the doc says I'm in good shape and much improved over last year! I'm still waiting on my vitamin D report and I anticipate this will still be low, so I've special ordered some high dosage vitamin D and a friend is bring them to China when she comes.
Eating: did well today, ate a smaller breakfast (after the doc's visit...I was starved!) finished the day at 1548, and am sipping green tea now.
Exercise: I took the day off today as I had to leave a little early to get to the doc's office across town. I'll hit it again tomorrow!
Motivation: excellent...my husband said to me this morning, well, it's coming off again isn't it (referring to my weight), I can see it...and so can he. I also talked to my sister last evening who has lost Lot of weight, but still has more to go, and she is starting a change up in her regime, so I shared my situation and motivation with her, and giving away always makes me stronger.
And if all of that isn't good enough, tomorrow's Friday!!
Good choices to all!

Sarah

That's great news Sarah on all of the improvements in your stats! I hope your sister will share your success too. Lots of love xo Cate

Thanks girls! I' pretty proud of that..I wish I would have thought to get my glucose levels checked (I can be so blonde sometimes!) , but I just forgot it...my sister had asked me about the triglycerides and that's what was on my mind, so I didn't even ask...don't particularly want to go back just for that!
Today is ok..tons and tons of rain here in Shenyang...flooding everywhere and that exposed all the leaks and resonate problems on my construction site! What a mess!
Eating: a little over my plan today at 1784 cal, so I'll have to be better tomorrow!
Exercise: did 45 minonthe elliptical and then 10 min weights, plus all the mud walking today on the site!
Motivation: good, still feeling slimmer and good about the lab work yesterday. Heading into the weekend, ready for some leisurely workouts and relaxing with my dear husband!
Sunday I will weigh in and start week 3 of my stricter regime..hoping for some good news on the scale this weekend..but in case it doesn't move as much as I would like, I know I'm losing because my clothes are getting loose...always a good motivation!
Goos choices to all!
Sarah

Eating: vGood day today...still ate a few more calories than i wanted...started off with some delish meuslix for breakfast...real cream, nuts, oats, slivers of apples, raisins and some fresh banana slices...more than I probably should have, but it tasted so good! The rest of the day went better..tuna, asparagus, a fresh papaya and a peach...nothing after 6:00 except some hot green tea as I type this!
Motivation: good..weighed in today (a day early) and I'm at 171.7, so I'm happy with that. Going into week 3 with my original 5 rules. (Good thing I weighed before I ate that big breakfast!)
Exercise: a good day..65 min on the elliptical and 10 min weights.
So, it's all good today!
Good choices to you all!
Sarah

I jus downloaded a book by Dave Wolff called Superfoods...the top 3 on his list list:
Goji berries (said to promote longevity and good moods7
Cacao (the basis for chocolate and a powerful mood leveler )
Maca (the South American aphrodisiac and good mood food)
Bee products (honey, pollen, royal jelly)( natural antibacterial foods a,ong other benefits)

I'm just starting the book, and it's fascinating...anyone had any experience (good or bad) with these "superfoods"?
Sarah
