So, I've been on here as "Sarah's got her groove back" in my big weight loss...now, I lost my 100 pounds, and have been ~maintaining for the last few months, and now I'm going to get the original goal which includes getting the last 20 pounds off. It will take eating less in the evening and keeping up the exercise.
It's been a good 3 months or so and I've been successful at ~maintaining, good sign that I've made the transition to really making it my lifestyle and not just a "diet"!
I'm still using my fitness pal, and until today, I used my fitbit, but for some reasonit stopped synching...seems to do that occasionally these days. It is a good tool to keep my active, and remind me how sedentary I can be at my job when I have endless meetings...so I have to make efforts to break it up a little!
Today, I went on a 90 min run, then had a 90 min massage...good combo!
I'm officially starting this 20 pound journey today 30 June 2013 at 173 pounds (up from 169 where i had gotten to and claimed victory at 100 pounds lost!) and 31.7% bodyfat.

Hope to see some of my cyber friends again...

Sarah

Hi Sarah, having that few months off & maintaining was a great idea. It's nice to know that you have nailed it. I knew you would of course! I.t was probably just enough time to be able to get back into it again with renewed enthusiasm. Send me a little bit please as I don't feel like exercising at the moment. I feel like being a hibernating bear! :( Winter Schminter! xoxo Cate

Good lcuk on dropping the last twenty. I still have about 60 to go, but it _feels_ like the homestretch for me too.

An exhausting week this week! I got lots of walking exercise on the construction site. Will weigh-in tomorrow and see how I'm doing. Feeling very fit, so I'm thinking the scale or bodyfat will have moved!
Cate, yes, maintaining has been a good move for me...I needed to prove to myself I cold do it!
MrVee, you have come such a great distance! Very proud of you, and keep up the good work , and great choices!
Brawny, always good to see you here! You still make me laugh!
Sarah

Hi Sarah, I have got moving again thank goodness & stopped mindlessly eating. It was just a temporary blip on the Winter horizon. It's great to hear you say that you feel really fit! It makes you feel so good mentally! xo Cate

Thanks Cate!
I weighed in and was p,easing,y surprised that I'm at 169 again, but not so pleasantly surprised that I'm at 33.1% bodyfat. I don't get it! I know my muscles are getting toned, so I guess I shouldn't obsess about the number...and I know that bodyfat scales are to that accurate...but when it showed 31% the other day, it sure did feel good!
I will exercise later today...this past week has been exhausting, getting the plant starting to start up...lots of walking on the construction site, lots of meetings and dinners at night..and on top of that I was posting some VIP's for a 3 day meeting...so glad they are gone! I do feel better today, although I'm sure I'm not getting enough rest...I'm sure I'll do that after a good exercise later today!
I'll try to get caught up on dairies today too!
Good choices everyone!

Oh wow, the final countdown! Exciting! Soon the weight you have left to lose will be in single digits. You should plan something wonderful for when you reach your goal :D

Hey Brawny, yes, nest ill in China. Not traveling as much as I was, so I get more of a routine and also more active on the construction site.
Hello Overtherainbow! I look forward to the day of single digit weightloss! It will take me awhile, but I'll get it ! Thanks for your encouragement! Hello Benny bent, thanks for your encouragement!

Today and yesterday were both fitbit days (read lots of steps!) yesterday, I logged over 19000 steps, and today over 10k...my feet were dragging yesterday, not too bad today, but I still felt it! Good news is that it is good to be active and sometimes my job can make me be quite sedentary.
Eating wise, I've been doing ok...still my biggest meal of the days breakfast, then lunch, and then a small dinner. I am still trying to eat in 3's: a healthy fat, a carb and protien. Some times I do better than others on that. I've read that the healthy fat is a good combatant for blood sugar spikes that occur with fruits, so I tried to eat a few walnuts or almonds. I havnt been tested lately for blood sugar levels, but when I went last summer it was a little high, so I'm trying to prevent insulin resistance or even worse, diabetis that runs in my family.
Motivation: some times better than others... My clothes fit great, and my body is getting more and more toned up with the weights I'm doing more and more...so my desire to stay strict on the eating plan wanes from time to time. I'll get it back I'm sure by the weekend when I can do my leisurely workout!
All is well here in China...good choices to you!

No matter how hard I try I just gotta save most of my calories for the evening meal because food jumps into my mouth after 5 pm.

Hey Sarah :)

Yep, Kate is back....Again!!!!! I'm blown away with how awesome you still are :)

I read that you did a 90 min run and it reminded me that you said something about a marathon. Have you done it yet?
I did a half marathon in March but pretty much no running at all since then, pretty much sat on my fat arse on the sofa is my exercise these days.......Must do something about that. Oh, I have a broken toe right now (i'l do anything to get out of exercising lol)

It's good to be back and looking forward to us both losing that 20lb :)

Love and hugs
Xoxoxoxo

Hey ya Kate! I did the marathon...well, if that's what it was supposed to be...it was all on the Great Wall of. china and it was the toughest thing I have ever done in my life...I signed up for the full marathon, and after it took me 6 hours to do a 1/2 marathon, and knowing I couldn't finish the full one in the 8 hour time limit, I stopped. It was murderous...all steps on the unrestored part of the wall.. Go to y blog at and you'll find both my weighloss story and the Great Wall marathon story...both have pictures!

Today, not a bad day..sweltering heat on the construction site and a fitbit day at ~12000 steps. I'm going to the tailor tomorrow to get some new dress slack knickers...the ones I had made during the big weightloss journey have been taken up twice and now they need it again...but I don't think I'm going to because I've lost most of my butt...so they are dragging on me..a good excuse to get some summer weight short dress slacks!
I did 10 on the recumbent bicycle today (my foot was hurting and I knew I had a long day ahead of me at work on the construction site, so I kicked back on the bike, then did the weights (I've figured out how to do a weighted setup machine that really gets my abs, then and another one that really gets my back muscles, then I still do the chest presses. I do feel my core muscles getting harder!
I had a strange reflection the other morning when I was blow drying my hair after a shower (post workout, when I was still hot from working out, even after the shower)...I had the blow dryer on cool, and was blowing my neck to cool me off...and I noticed that it was blowing my skin around like an old gobbler turkey! Yuck!! I guess the loose skin is better than the fat beneath it, but I still wasn't ready to see that! I'm not big on facelifts or surgery...any other ideas out there?

Good choices to all!
Sarah

Heya sweetie

The half marathon I did in march was horrid....I hated it, it was so so hard. Lots of reasons, it was sooooooo cold, incline a lot of the way and I had a back problem too. It was such a shock not enjoying it after doing the great south run (10 miles) and loving that. I haven't run much at all since but I will start again properly when the temperature drops and my broken toe is healed. Well done on doing the half though, it is such an achievement to do something like that when there was a time not so long ago when you couldn't run :)

I have noticed that my neck and lower face are looking saggy :( especially when I look down!!!! I was told that you can get good moisturisers for it but it think it's something we are gonna have to put up with. I'm gonna be 40 next month!!!!

Love and hugs Xoxoxoxo

Ok,
Back now..the last month has been so hectic..the project I'm working on for the last 3 years has finally made it's first product! I has been maddening...and probably not the best time to try to lose weight! In fact, after the weighin yesterday at 176, I knew I had to get serious! So I ahem reinstated my rule of no eating after 6 for a month or se to get me back on track. Many are on vacation now, so I'm thinking my next month should be a little less stressful, even if there is still a huge amount of work to do to ramp up up the plant.
On top of all the stress, I had my vitamin D level checked, and it was really low..like 12 (for a recommended level of 30-50), and with all the running I did for the marathon, I got a stress fracture on my foot...so I'm off running now..back to bicycle, some elliptical, swimming , some yoga and lifting weights...it's a new routine for me, and puts a major Krimp in my style! I will get over it! I'm on day 2 now of not eating after 6 and sucking up lots of hot green tea! I've come quite the conisseur of green teas here in China!

Good choices to all!
I'll update again here more frequently, and also check in on some diaries for inspiration!
Sarah

Nice having you back here Sarah. You'll work out a new plan that suits you. before you started running you were wearing out the elliptical I seem to remember xo Cate

Hey, I just realized you had a new thread. I'd been keeping an eye out for your old thread and completely missed this. I'm sorry to hear about your foot! I also hate the feeling of being physically limited in what I can do. I hope it gets better soon. :/

Well, after 5 days now back on the no eating after 6:00, I'm feeling back on track! I'm still watching my calories daily wi my goal to stay under 1600/day and so far so good. I did a mid week weigh-in and I'm 1.5 pounds down, so happy about that..ok, I know it's likely water weight, but, hey I'll take it!
It's really hot here in China right now, and I'm still doing a lot of walking on the construction site, so I'm sweating a lot and drinking a lot of water!

Cory, I'm sitting here with my foot elevated and ice on it after a 16000+ steps day according to my fitbit...had to break out the new one...the old one just kept not synching!
Cate, it's good to be back, and feel accountable and know that I have to nip any gains in the bud so that I can maintain at my really goal weight..down around 150...I think I can maintain at the level I stop at within 5 pounds, so I will likely go for 147 or so to give myself some maneuver room!
Good choices to all!
