SweatPea is going to sweat it all off...

Hey Sweetpea.....hope you have a fun "field trip." The hiking sounds like fun and I'm sure it'll be great exercise!

I've kind of given up on drinking too so it's always hard when we go out to dinner, esp a "happy hour" type place. I have a hard time watching everyone feel the need to drink. Oh well, I gave up on it mainly b/c I gained a bunch of weight drinking it. Not sure if I'll ever really start drinking again. I know how you feel though!

Enjoy your trip. Hopefully you won't be crammed into those itsy-bitsy yellow bus seats. LOL. It pretty amusing being on on of the elementary school buses as an adult. It like being in munchkin land.

Arrrrrg! I am missing you awfully!!!
And after tonight when I have to have Kelly as my training partner I am sure that I will "really be missing you!" LOL
Hope you guys are having a blast.
See ya soon.

Back home again!

I don't know how much of a low down on the trip I'm going to write, I guess because there were some boring details, some annoying details, and some beautiful details.

The cabin we stayed in had 3 stories to it, I was on the lowest of the 3 stories. So I was up and down the stairs a lot - so that does count for exercise. :D At least my legs benefited from it.

I was a little annoyed by the fact that the parents that chaperoned did not get to be paired up with their own child. :( I don't understand it, but each day that we were out and about they wouldn't let us be in the same group as our own child. So, I guess I might have started out annoyed.

TN is a beautiful place. Gatlinburg is so commercialized! It should be renamed - Ripley's (as in Ripley's believe it or not!) because there were like 10 different Ripley "museums" of sorts. Even the aquarium we visited was a Ripley's aquarium.

We visited the national park too - and again I was in a separate group from my ds. Really, what's the point in chaperoning if you don't get to spend some good quality time with your own child? It's not like I would've given him special privileges - I would've and did follow "the rules".

We got to see bears! We were on the bus when we did, but one thing that really made me wonder what the teachers were thinking was that at one point she asked who would like to get off the bus to "see the bear?" :ack2: Until the other teacher stepped in I thought for sure I was going to have to add my 2 cents and just let them know how unwise of a move that was. I wouldn't have cared if the kids would've gotten mad at me either.

Anyway, it was cool, but long, and I'm glad to be home.

During the national park visit we went hiking and walked the whole day, other than that and the flights of stairs, I had no real exercise. But my weight is maintained from when I left, so all is good. :)

Well I'm going to go take a shower and go out and enjoy some Indiana fresh air. :D

Not much to report, it was good to be back at work. I love the little kids compared to the bigger ones. :)

I did get on the elliptical and washed my Escape (with the boys' help, but of course we know who did all the work. ;) )

Hey all!

Haven't stopped in lately because there's not been much to report. I almost got on late last night because right before I got in the shower, I stepped on the scale and it showed me at 160.5. HOWEVER, it seems that must've been a glitch, because then I got out of the shower, and could never find that number again. This morning it didn't show up either. :( I'm still the same. Actually my weight has been hovering around 164 for a week now.

Oh and last night I had a really good workout even though Bell stood me up! :smash: But she had her reasoning. :p

I am so sore today, so I guess even if the scale isn't showing it I know I'm getting stronger.

Today I'm taking the day off of exercise - though I did have a day off on Wed. as well. But I need it. I've been going in early to work this week and I think with the trip last week and the change in schedule this week, I'm exhausted! I was going to skip exercise last night, but since I pay for that class, I decided to go.

TTFN

Hello to all!

It's been quite boring around here, well except for Mother's day. Ds got up extra early and made me biscuits and gravy for breakfast! Then, I got a nice card from my youngest ds. Got taken out for lunch...got home took a nap...didn't have to lift one finger. Then, my oldest ds gave me another card. I was like wow, this is the best day ever!

My sister even sent me a card, but I didn't send her one. :( I did try to call my mother, but she doesn't have a phone and I called my other sister, but only got to leave a message. Hopefully she passed the message on.

Anyway, exercise was almost non-existent this weekend. But I made up for that yesterday and definitely today.

Yesterday I "tore" up the elliptical. :D Today i got "tore" up at the gym. The trainer, made us run in between each set - 2 laps around! Ugh! I'm very worn out!

Not much to report except that I stepped on the scales and am down one 1.5 lbs! I don't really know what is up with that. I mean I have been working out, but not super hard. I think what it is is that I've decided to stop counting calories (at least as an experimental kind of thing.) And it seems to be working. I think what happens when I count calories is that I get to a certain point and figure that I've got so many calories left then I actually overeat (even when I'm not hungry.) This usually happens in the evening.
It seems to be working for now.

I haven't been to the Y since last week. I'm not really in the mood for it right now - between the nice weather and me just getting burned out from the running I am not really too excited about going to the Y.

Tues. I actually had a good reason for not going to the Y since the trainer had canceled due to tearing her calf muscle. But I just got off the phone with Bella, and she says the class is a go tonight.

I just don't feel like going. But I will either take a walk with the dog or go down and get on the elliptical.

I hear ya on the getting burned out on the class thing. At least tonight I have a good excuse so Kelly can't be to mad at me.
Actually it is like I have said before I think that I may very well be giving that particular class a rest for a while since for some reason it seems to have gotten more painful for me over time. I know you want to feel like you have done something but feeling like I actually can't move for 2 days is not my idea of achievment.
Have a good night off from class. I know that you will fit in some form of exercise.
Way to go on the pound and half down. :sifone:
You certainly have deserved it.

Hey SweatPea!

Thank you so much for all the kind comments you left in my threads :) It helps to have such sweethearts like you on here.

That stinks about getting burnt out. I'm a serious creature of habit though (I'm a Capricorn, lol) so it takes awhile for me to get burnt out on the same thing... Congrats on the weight loss, 1.5lbs is awesome! I've kind of stopped counting calories too. I still kind of do it in my head but I don't make myself write it down and all that anymore. I just can't write it all down, then it becomes too real to me I guess?

Have a great day,
Sam

Bella - you're right I went and got on the elliptical for 40 min. Then did crunches Kelly style. :)

Sam - Thanks for the nice words. :)

The reason I'm getting burned out is because she is having us run. I'm not a runner. In between our sets she has us sprint around the gym 2 laps. It makes my chest hurt. I just am not cut out for running. I could walk fast, or run a little, walk, run a little. But she's really pushing us. I don't mind the weight sets though.

I was counting cals on sparkpeople, but I think it makes me think of it as too much of a diet. I want it to be more of a lifestyle change.

So, on that note, I'm sure I'm over my limits today. My oldest ds just got his driving permit. And since he will be doing the driving part of driver's ed here in a few short weeks, he wanted to get some practice in. Last night was the first time he's ever driven a car/vehicle (as I have an escape--mini suv.) He did really well, a little nervous of course which is good, but not too bad for his first try.

Tonight, he wanted to go for another drive. Plus he wanted to stop for ice cream. So, I let him drive. And then I bought ice cream. Of course if he got ice cream so did I. ;) I love ice cream.

He did ask how would he eat his ice cream. I told him that we could eat it there (which it's a small local place so we'd have to sit outside or in the vehicle.), that he could drive and eat his ice cream when he got home, or that I could drive on the way back.

He chose to drive home and eat it at home. :D He was so proud of himself that he passed a person on bicycle w/o running them over. :biggrinjester:

He did really well this 2nd time around. I think if we keep up with him, he will be a good driver. :driving:

TTFN - it's my bedtime!:seeya:

Wow, it's been almost 2 weeks since I updated last. I don't know why I haven't really come in to update. Guess I figured there was nothing good to report so why report it? ;)

I am actually up on the weight, it's been hovering at 163. I haven't been counting calories, but I know they are in range (except for on days we've gone to the movies.) :lurk5:

I have been doing ok with exercise. Nothing too strenuous though, so that might be why my weight hasn't gotten back to 161.5 (which was a one day #! LOL) When I was going to the Y and taking the class with Bell, it was one heck of a workout for 2 days and then I didn't feel like doing much else. I am exercising most days - at least 5 days a week. But most of it has been walks with dh or bike riding. :) Which I like to do both, just not the biggest calorie burners. We did just get back from an 8.36 mi. bike ride!

I'm also trying to get my bedroom ready to be painted. I'm taking down the wall border, prepping the walls, and also fixing some cracks. Then, got to prime the walls and paint them. The problem I have is that we have some pretty big pieces of furniture in the bedroom (big dressers) so I'm going to have to paint one side and then the other so I can rearrange the room without taking everything out.

Well, just a few weeks now and I will be out on my own for 7 wks. away from home for training for school. I am getting nervous about that. But, I'm enjoying this month of "freedom" for now. :) Yesterday I only spent 2 hrs in the bedroom then took my ds out fishing. Well he fished, I sunned. ;)

Glad you stopped by :)

Sounds like you've been kinda busy. Your only up a little bit, and still getting in some exercise, so that's not too bad.

I got school starting here in August, so I'm trying to make these June and July months count... I'm going to be so busy I don't know what I'm going to do. I just am determined to keep all the weight I've lost off, no matter what. Some people start school and let everything go to hell... Not me, no way.

Painting and moving big dressers sounds like some good exercise to me :)

Have a good nite,
Sam

Hey BG, thanks for stopping by!

........

Just a brief post for the weekend. I guess I haven't been doing much in the way of formal exercise since the bike ride. Well the dog and I did take about a 3 mile hike. I'm not sure of the exact count since it's a walk around the inlaws farm land. It took me about 50 min. and we were walking pretty fast. So, I know it's got to be close to 3 miles.

Other than that I've been busy in my bedroom. No, not like that...LOL I finally got the walls good enough (wall border down and some spackling done) so that I could start painting. Since we had a deep rose color and are now changing it to a baby blue, I put on a coat of primer today. I only got half of the room done as the plan is to do the parts I can then rearrange the furniture in there so that I can do the other half. I think I can accomplish that.

I'm also thinking when it's all done, I will rearrange the bedroom furniture for good (or at least another 11 yrs - since it's been that way for that long.)

I'm very tired today from all the taping and painting.... that and I got up early to take ds to driver's ed. And I guess that's how my week will start out all next week since he has D.Ed until next Friday.

I'm hoping to have the room all done by mid-week next week so that I can start on the bathroom. Ha! That and so I can take a mini-break. I'm taking my time this go around, it will leave less room for huge mistakes. ;)

I love to paint. I want to decorate my walls when i have money to do so. This white is boring and BLAH. Have a great weekend!
