SweatPea is going to sweat it all off...

Thanks B! I did get in 40 min. of walking. I wanted to do more, but my MIL's dog kept following us and I didn't want her to get hit. So then I came home and got on the elliptical for a total of 85 min. today.

Total this week: 270 min. (4 hrs. 30 min.)

Awesome exercise girl!

BTW, what kind of dog do you have?

Also, wanted to let you know that instead of 2 teams for the memorial day challenge, I decided to merge the teams as there were not many to begin with and some have dropped out. Please feel free to join us on the STARS team thread.

Hey
Glad to hear that you got some exercise in. I didn't. :(
I guess since I already messed it up today by making bad choices at the Mexican eatery I figured I might as well just make this my free day.
So after my tummy settled the kids and I had ice cream. And Gil made Flan tonight. Yummy custardy dessert with a caramel sauce!!! OH BABY!
Way to go on sticking to your guns!

Yarmiah, it's a Schnoodle (part Schnauzer and part poodle.)

Ok, I will look for the STARS team. :)

Dang, you could've invited me over for Flan! :D

I weighed in this morning at 163! That's down a 1/2 a lb. I think the workouts at the Y have really given me a boost plus I've been keeping my cals under 1300.

This morning I woke up to a tremor. We had an earthquake all the way in IN! Well I guess it started in IL, but we are on the fault line. It doesn't happen very frequently thank goodness! But it was about 5:40 in the morning and I heard the door handle to my bedroom creek (I was probably on alert cause dh is out of town.) Then, I felt the bed shake a bit, and heard a rattling noise, and the dog growled and barked. First thought was my son was coming into my room. 2nd thought was that it was a tornado of sorts, and I was waiting for it to hit! But then, I heard more noises, I called out, "Hello?" LOL Like if it was anything other than a natural thing someone would say hello back...Ha!

Then my phone buzzed. I thought it was definitely an alarm (we have an alarm on the house.) But when I checked it was my dh - said his flight was leaving have a good day... so I went back to bed thinking it was still in my imagination and I must've dreamed it. Well right before my alarm went off I heard one of the boys get up and get their shower, then I heard a lot of scuffling noises (which was the bird going all crazy in his cage!) I knew then something was going on, but wasn't sure what it was.

The alarm went off and we have it tuned to a local radio station. Sure enough it was an earthquake! We are in NE Indiana, the earthquake started in IL, and was felt all the way to OH! It was only a 5.4 (but later they downsized it to a 5.2.) I'm glad it wasn't anything bigger than that though. Then, I guess there were about 6 aftershocks through out the morning and a big one (4.6) around 11 am, but I was at school then and I don't remember feeling anything out of the ordinary.

After finding out what it was, I went to check on the kids to see if they had anything to report. Which their stories grew as the day went on. ;) And during this time I was texting dh back and forth. Finally I called him because the kids said while I was in the shower he called. I guess his plane was delayed because they had to evacuate the control tower. While I was talking to him the Captain came on and I could hear him as plain as I could hear dh (so now I know why they say to turn off cell phones.) I guess he made all of his connections ok because I didn't hear otherwise.

What a crazy day!

Wow- that must have been an experience! Being in IN, I guess you are not used to the feelings of earthquakes and shockwaves . . I hope I never feel it myself!

Gratz on that loss and new # on the scale! You have been working so hard, and deserve it.

Yarm, thanks!

I think as far as the earthquakes go, we are on a fault line, so we should expect it once in awhile. However, you're right it doesn't happen too often. In fact the last time it happened, I didn't feel a thing. I think it depends on what you're doing and how big the tremor is.

10 lbs sure does make a difference though. I know I've been here before, but I got to say that things are just fitting better. I have these jammie pants (on right now) that don't "give" much. They have an elastic waistband, but that's about it. Anyway, I put them on months ago and decided I needed to give them a rest because they weren't comfortable to sleep in. Now, however, I've been pulling them out of my drawer again - and they are very comfortable! It makes you want to stay on track for sure.

Speaking of ... need to go exercise... :D

LOL thats the exact amount I got in this week as well! 45min a day for 6 days. I guess your me idol! :smilielol5:

I'm looking forward to that same feeling you are experiencing with the pants being more comfortable etc.

Great job!

Hey Sweetie~
Glad you got to "experiance" the earthquake. I slept right thru it!!!
Takes more than a natural phenomenon to wake this girl! LOL
Way to go on being a 1/2 pound down!!!
It's gonna start melting off ya now.

Just got off the elliptical and treadmill. I first did the elliptical and then remembered the challenge for this week - since I know I can't sleep for 30 min./day, I had to run...so I did. Just got in my 1/2 mi in 5 min. I am beat! I haven't run in awhile - usually I avoid it. But I knew I could do it. I think it helps I've been getting in my cardio more than usual. I did have to push myself a bit harder. I started out at 5.5 mph and then had to back down for just a min. Then boosted it up to 6 mph so I could get it in under the 5 min.

Afterwards, I walked for 5 more min. for a cool down and then a good stretch. I'll definitely have to drink my water today!

I needed a good workout because I'm going out to lunch with a friend...so got to go take my shower now! :driving:

I'm sure my cals were over for the day. At lunch I split a cheeseburger and had a side salad w/ my friend. Plus a few fries. There were still fries on the plate when we sent the plate back - so my friend did just as well.

However it was a belated bday celebration (yeah I've got quite a handful of friends that want to celebrate with me - I need to get them all together at one time so it's just one celebration meal!) and so we had dessert, which we didn't split. It's the yummiest, richest, peanut butter dessert there is. It's called peanut butter blitz and it's just mmmm! Of course I couldn't eat all of my portion, so I did leave some on my plate (that's got to better than eating the whole thing.)

I'm feeling hunger pains, but it's probably because of lack of good nutritious foods, definitely not a lack of cals. The bad news is is that the waitress said they might be getting rid of that dessert! I know I shouldn't have it, but I usually have it for my bday. And I told her that that's the only reason we come there! LOL I mean their food is good - but for the most part, it's just food you can get most other places. And the place is a little out of the way, so if they don't have good dessert (for a bday celebration), what's the point? :D Oh and the last time this friend and I went to this restaurant for my bday, we tried to order the PB Blitz, and it was during the salmonella scare. They were like, we aren't serving it now because of the PB scare. We were like, just make it for us, we don't care!! :smash: We were talking about that on the way home - we said we would've paid for it in the end for sure! (Puns intended!) :smilielol5:

So you're a peanut butter fan? I like peanut butter ok, but it's not my favorite. I did however, buy the new mini rice cakes in peanut butter flavor. Pretty good- like a lighter version of the NutterButter cookie . . so if you need a fix, there is a suggestion for ya (tho no way can compare to you favorite dessert).

Sending a plate back to the kitchen with fries on it is a major accomplishment!

I love peanut butter too. I alway pick the dessert with peanut butter and chocolate in it. If I'm going to make a mistake, let it be a good one!

Oh I lubs peanut butter! Sounds like a yummy snack, I'll have to give it a try. Definitely not the dessert, but it's better for me that way. ;)

You know it! Nothing beats peanut butter and chocolate! But you know you're in trouble when after 2 bites it feels like you should quit eating it because of how rich it is.

Yesterday I got in 90 min. of exercise and just completed 45 min. for today.

So new total this week: 200 min.

Yesterday we decided to take our youngest ds to another hockey game. This one was worse (as far as the rough play went) than the last one. It was like the away team was out for blood! But our local team gave them the one-two and beat them 7 to 2. We left with about 2 min. left in the game - just so we could get out of the parking lot. Plus the fans were really riled up. Cops even had to escort a lady out of the bleachers due to her pouring water on the opposing team while they were on the bench (she reached over the plexiglas and squirted them!) The cops were running around so I'm sure there was much mischief going on.

Ds said he's had enough of hockey until next year. :D

Whew! Finally able to sit down for a few.

Went to work, and actually dozed off in the nap room for a few min. (3 times!) Ha! But I didn't want to be caught napping on the job.

Mostly at work the only time I do get to sit down is during lunch and in the nap room. Other than that I'm usually on my feet.

I got home - was later than usual because I worked the later time (until 4:30.) So, it was rush home, get changed for the Y, and leave again.

I call Bell, her dh answers, but I didn't realize it. I asked her if she was going to the Y, "she" said yes, then said "she thought so." Sounded like "she" was about to cry. I was like what's wrong. Then, her dh confessed. LOL He's like that, always joking around. :smilielol5:

Met up with Bell, then Kelly (the trainer) really put all of us through the ringer! We had to do "stations" - which included a step, jumping in and out of "boxes" (tape on the floor), jump rope, then sprinting down the stairs and up the stairs and around the track to start the stations again. Whew!
After 20 min. of pure torture, we had to start our upper body workout! Let me say, I have already formed a love/hate relationship for the trainer. ;)

My dh said, "So you paid to be tortured?" LOL

Ok, well it's bed time, but actually tomorrow is going to be a "sick" day for me. ;) I have a few errands to run and need to take some time off. But I only get 1 personal day and 5 sick days. I'm not one to be "sick", so I guess I will be tomorrow though. :newangel:

Forgot to post that I got in a 20 min. walk, and the whole gym time was 90 min.

Exercise total: 310 min.
