Starting Over

Awesome deal on the Corian! I paid just under that for high quality/granite-looking laminate--that was installed.

Glad to hear the m/s is gradually tapering off. Wow--you are almost done with your first tri! That'll be so much fun being in a wedding at 8 mos preggers..lol. Good job on the weight gain--2lbs is great!

I kinda have a similar issue with the veggies. Once I'm eating them I'm fine, it's just that they don't sound that great beforehand.

So what are you craving?

The price for the Corian INCLUDES installation. Yay! Sean likes to joke that I can find ANYTHING for a super low price. This is why I handle all our finances and do the shopping for renovations. He's the type to see something he likes and just buy it. Drives me insane. I'm a saver, he likes to call me his little squirrel. Lol!

I'm excited that this pregnancy seems to be going better. I never knew your thyroid played such a huge part in everything until after my pregnancy with Bella. I am definitely finished after this one. I told Sean that I will have the doctor remove my vagina if that's what it took to never be pregnant again. Haha! He has agreed to get himself fixed instead. We may still adopt another one in a few years though, I'm waiting to see how exhausting having 3 is gonna be first. We're telling Wyatt about the baby next week when we go to Ohio. We wanted to wait until the first trimester was finished before breaking the news to him, just in case.

My cravings have been weird so far. I went through a week of craving chili cheese dip and chips (not like me at all). I've been craving Bloody Mary's too. Mostly I just crave salty stuff. Yesterday I bought tomato juice and plan to make bloody mary mix (for virgin drinks). I think this will appease the salt cravings and get some of those veggie servings in as well. LOL!! I've also been in the mood to bake DAILY so poor Sean has a few different types of bread loaves and muffins to choose from each morning for breakfast. I don't want to eat any of it, just bake it.

I've also been reworking the flower beds and landscaping outside. I much more creative than usual so everything is getting changed. LOL! I'm hitting the nursery today for mulch, some shrubbery to line the back of our deck, and some paving stones for more landscaping. I'm taking before/after pics so I'll update as I finish them. Not working is making me a busybody!!! I bought Bella her own gloves, tools, and apron so she's outside helping me with everything. She even has her own little greenhouse in which she is growing sunflowers and a potted plant with Gerbera Daisies (fuscia) that she waters every other day with her water bucket and fertilizes once a week. She is loving this!!!

You sound so full of energy! That is so cute about Bella helping you outside. That is good stuff--memories you'll both have forever--quality mommy/daughter time--and she's learning neat things to boot. :)

Very nice job on the Corian! :cheers2: They had some on sale when I was shopping, but none of the choices on sale were ones that I liked..lol. So I just went with the laminate. I would've loved to have solid surface, though.

That is cool Sean has agreed to get the snip snip. I hope my dh will be as cooperative when the time comes. :D

Chili cheese dip and chips sounds really good! :drool5: Perhaps your 2lb gain is only water retention from all the sodium..lol.

I love doing things with her, especially outside. The older she gets, the more I'm seeing that she is so much like me in her personality and interests. She's outgoing, silly, stubborn, likes to get dirty, and will tell you off in a heartbeat if you piss her off. LOL! My little angel...

I'm sooo excited about the countertop. I'm going to pick it out this weekend.

You may be right about the sodium, the scale was down a pound yesterday. I'm trying to up my water intake, it has been way too low lately. I just haven't wanted to drink ANYTHING.

Bella and I are headed out for some jogging/walking in the stroller with a stop at the lake and at the park. I'm shooting for an hour of cardio with another 45-60 minutes of letting Bella play. It's too nice out to stay indoors!

:DI havent been by in a while and I apologize...

My kids loved gardening when they were younger. My oldest was outside all the time, helping and planting her own garden, water and eeekkk, even weeding, ha!

My youngest too loves it.They help my granny.I do it but I dont enjoy it, lol.Taneesha too has all her own tools.I think it is awesome for them.We are also big recyclers adn compost. When Kaylea was young watch out...she got her classes in elementary school to start composting.

That is awesome abt the counter tops and all that you are doing.Im glad all is going well for you and the sickness is dying down, I hated that.I was so sick through all my pregnancy wiht my youngest. From before I found out till I actually gave birth to her on the table I was barfing.Fun stuff.Im pretty sure I am done with babies but who knows, Im still young!!!

Bought the kitchen countertop today!! We decided to go with quartz instead of solid surface. It was $700 more but worth it, I LOVE it. We got the "minera pearl" color (). I also picked out the tiles for the backsplash, the new faucets, and sink. Now I just have to get started on the demo before the installers arrive in 3 weeks. I love renovating! I used to help my dad so I'm quite handy at demo, installing drywall and tile, and plumbing. This is more MY project than it is Sean's. He's letting me do whatever I want to keep me busy. Woot!

Also, I will officially be in my second trimester on tuesday. This pregnancy is going by faster than I expected...

You bitch! LOL! I wanted quartz, but it was too expensive and I knew I'd never get my money out of it--not in this condo. I like the color you chose. Here is mine--ubatuba granite.

I have got TONS of drywalling to be done. Come on over and knock yourself out. :biggrinjester:

I LOVE the color you chose. Very neutral and will go with tons of colors.

I'm excited about the quartz and the super low price we got it for. My kitchen is really the only part that needs updating and since we'll be selling this house within a year, the kitchen is where we are focusing first. Putting down hardwood flooring and tile is our next big project!!

I'd love to come do your drywall for ya. I've been going crazy for something to do lately. I am very "hands-on" and enjoy building things with my hands. Next week I am making storage benches with upholstered seats for the kids' rooms. We need more storage!!!

I wanted something darker to contrast against my white cabinets.

You are nuts, woman! In addition to drywall, I have lots of other little jobs for you to do--like a beadbord kitchen backsplash, you can make me some bookshelves, etc. Girl, I could keep you busy for a long time. :biggrinjester:

14 weeks!!

Only 26-ish weeks to go!!!

This pregnancy is getting much better. My energy is back up, the nausea only comes about once a day and I'm feeling pretty damn good. I'm up a pound but I'll take it. I'm still in my normal clothes except I have to unbutton my jeans and wear a Bella Band to cover that up, my belly is really starting to pooch out and show. So far, so good!!

I start ripping out my old countertop and backsplash next week to make way for the new one. Yay!! I'm also spring cleaning my house and having a garage sale to make room for the new addition this fall. Busy!! School will be finished in 4 weeks but I'm taking a class during May intercession and Summer 1 to help make up for what I'll miss this Fall. We decided I won't be in the position to go to school in August with the baby due mid-term so I will be taking it off. This will leave me with making up only 2 classes next spring and summer to make up for what I'll miss.

Nothing much going on around here. I am staying busy with school and Bella and unfortunately am not working out much. This week I WILL remedy that. I can see that I'm losing my muscle tone and need to get back to the gym. It's just that when I actually have time to go, I feel like crap or am exhausted from everything else. I am going to STOP this and go anyways starting this week. I want to only have to tone up my belly after this pregnancy so I have to step it up a few notches. Plus I have to be in a wedding 3 weeks before my due date so I want my arms and shoulders to look good in the dress. It is a one-shouldered number with an empire waist and is very flowy. It is also chocolate brown, a color that compliments my complexion and hair better than any other color. Woot!!!

Well, I'm off to another class.

Ciao!

Good grief woman! Should you be doing all that while preggers? I hired another woman to rip out my countertop..lmao. Glad to hear this pregnancy is going much better than the first!

Your friend better watch out, or she is going to be shown up at her own wedding by a 9mos pregnant woman!! :D

Congrats!! Our daughters will only be about 7 months apart. :)

How ya feeling these days? How's the kitchen reno going?

Thanks BB!

I'm feeling pretty good lately. Bout to hit the gym actually. The pregnancy is going well, except that my thyroid levels are plummeting and the doc's having to slowly raise my med dose to slowly get the levels where they need to be without going too high. It has started affecting my energy and weight gain so I'm having to be super strict with my diet to keep from gaining excessive pounds. So far I've gained 13lbs and I am 5 months. This is not a lot of weight I know but most of it has come on in the past month which is due to the thyroid. It sucks having to count calories right now.Especially since I'm hungry all the damn time! I hope to keep the weight gain at 30lbs or less.

The reno is going great! The new countertops, sink, and faucet is gorgeous and I will be starting the backsplash next week! I also have found the right color the each room so I will start painting the interior of the house next month when I'm finished with classes. BUSY!!

How's Miss May doing? Sleeping through the night yet??

Well, off to the gym for a grueling workout. Later!!!

Hey girl--don't cut back on the calories too much. Baby needs its nutrition. Better to gain too much weight and have a healthy baby than to stay thinner and have an underweight baby. I gained way more than I wanted to, but most of it was water anyway that fell off in t he first week. That might be the case with you, too. :)

Don't worry, I'm giving the baby what it needs. I'm eating tons, I'm just keeping it way healthier than my cravings call for. LOL! I'm loading up on lean protein, veggies, fruit and whole grains. Pretty much how I was eating before but much more of it. The doc says 2300-2600 is perfect for me and the baby and the baby will get what it needs. I am just working to make sure I don't consume too many calories. We're just trying to minimize any excessive weight gain. With the thyroid levels running so low, the weight could come on way faster than is healthy for me or the baby. A lb a week from now on is the goal which will put me at about 32lbs for this pregnancy. That's a hell of a lot better than the 70lbs I gained from the last.

The big problem from the last pregnancy with the thyroid is that I wasn't getting enough calories and was still gaining insane amounts of weight. I gained 30lbs in the first trimester alone!! My new doc said that my thyroid should have been checked last time and it could have been avoided somewhat. We're keeping the levels under wraps this time. Plus, with as much as I'm working out and staying active, I'm pretty sure I'll bounce right back this time.

Hey WLF friends!!

I figured I needed to update here, which I will be trying to do much more often.

The pregnancy is going great, I'm at about 18-20lbs gained so far and am super pleased with that. I can still jog two miles or go two on the elliptical without getting winded. The bouncing belly is more of a problem than getting tired, it hurts! I've also kept the muscle tone up, especially since I went back to weight training regularly these past few weeks. I have been walking TONS on top of that too! Last week while on vacation I walked about 4-6 hours straight each day, including hiking through Rock City and the caves at Ruby Falls. Whew!

The renovation has been on hold since Wyatt has been here for the past 6 weeks. He goes back home tomorrow. :( I will start back this weekend. I have TONS to do before the baby gets here and possibly not enough time to get it done!

Gotta go for now!! Meeting some girlfriends at the movies!!

Ha! I know how that goes!! :smilielol5: I finally just realized it wasn't gonna happen before May arrived. Once i made my peace with that, I felt a lot better. But knowing you, you'll get 'er done. :D

That is a heap o exercise woman! :svengo: Nice job with everything.

Do you have a name picked out? And if so, are you sharing it? :toetap05:

WOW, how bad to I feel right now, your preggers and still your getting in more exercise than I am, I'M SHAMED!! LOL

Great job girlie! I think you look terrific it's hard to believe your that far along! Hope your movie was fun! What did you go see?? I want to see Harry Potter so damn bad! but you know I'm going to wait at least a week so all the kids get a chance to go see it first.

Sean keeps telling me I won't get it all done but I'm determined!

As for the exercise, I'm staying busy while I still can. If I'm tired I just push through it and end up feeling great afterwards. Plus the baby is perfectly on track for the October 13th due date.

We have a middle name picked out but no first name. Sean and I are debating on a few. LOL! He named Annabelle so I'm determined this baby is gonna be named by me! We'll announce the name once we have it figured out, we aren't secretive about it.

Hah! Don't feel bad! I went a spell during the first trimester that I was too sick to do anything. Just trying to keep everything up so I can bounce back faster after this birth. Besides, before I found I was pregnant, I was working out insane amounts of time each week so this is definitely a step down. And YOU KNOW what its like having to chase a toddler (in your case 2 toddlers) around. She doesn't slow down just because mommy's preggers. LOL! I take her to the pool 1-2 times a week, to the water park once a week, to the park 2-3 times a week so I think I get one day where I get to stay home and relax a little. BY relaxing I mean cleaning house, doing laundry, etc.

We went to see Harry Potter. It was fantastic!! There were tons of kids there dressed up in robes and glasses. LOL!
