Sprite's Progress Thread

Well I weighed myself today -I got some new digitial precison scales for xmas. I was not pleased to see I have gained 1 pound and 3 quarters over the last few days, but it could have been a lot worse.

Today I have been very good :D no "naughty" foods at all, despite having to sit with all the xmas chocs spread out in front of me!

I also got down to the gym and burnt 700 cals :) I'm gonna try to go every day this week, get a head start on the new-year effort. :D

(Oh and when I got home i worked through one of my workout DVDs for good measure. *polishes halo*)

Lot's of congrats to you for the 12's and only a 1lb
gain (I gained 7 1/2 :rolleyes: )over the holidays and for that kick butt

Thanks for the replies - I am well aware that spring is round the corner, and that is WHY I'm "kicking butt"! :D Summer will be here in no time, and I really need to get on track if I want to feel happy with my weight by the time the beach weather is upon us. :)

Lucky you not being in summer already like me. Ill probably hit my end goal around mid winter! just in time to be freezing lol :)

At least hopefully the skin will have shrunk by next summer though i suppose :)
 
As always, thanks for the replies. :)

However today has not gone well. I was good all day at work, and when I got in, but then for some reason it all went wrong and I ended up eating a packet of crisps AND several chocs. :eek: Oops. I have now removed all the chocolate around me (angry at self!) and determined to do much better tomorrow. I think maybe a solution to this sort of thing is to plan my days in advance -decide what meals to have, and also what I can allow myself as snacks. Then I can make myself stick to it... hopefully. :D

I'm going to give this a go, anyway. I am GOING to reach my birthday target!!
 
Ok, these are my new rules to try to adhere to as of tomorrow:



SMALLER portions. No seconds.

No eating after 7pm.

At least piece of fruit a day.

Less of the sauces -light salad cream, mint jelly, etc.
 
looks like a good plan.................... I don't know if you like salsas but its a good low cal version of a sauce. It's also very good mixed with a light sour cream.......

Thanks for that tip hillbillylee. I dont think I've tried it, but I certainly will now!

Another thing I had to look at was fizzy drinks, as I've basically lived on diet coke for the past 2 or 3 years -it's all I drink, (with the occasional glass of juice or something, and water at the gym) but I have decided it needs to be cut right down, and for the last few days I haven't touched a drop. :p
 
That is a lot of cokes.... If you start to get a headache go ahead and have one. Our body tends to throw a fit if the caffeine supply is suddenly shut down. If you do keep drinking them just try to up the water intake to flush out the salt they are full of....

:eek: So strange that you say that, yesterday and today I have had really bad headaches, but I didn't even consider that it could be connected to stopping the coke!! Thanks for that.
 
Funnily enough, when doing a long cycle you get an exercise 'hangover' which drinking a flat coke can cure :/

Both the sugar and caffiene help. Now i just allow for it in the diet to have one after any particularly long runs (alternativly i have a nap)
 
Haha thanks. I dont really think I'm missing the caffeine (I dont drink tea or coffee) but I miss the taste... I think maybe I am not drinking as much as I should be now, since I dont like the taste of much else, whereas before I would pick up a coke and drink it all the time just because I enjoyed it. Lots of fluids needed, so it's something I will work on. But I'm quite pleased with myself. :)

I had to log on here tonight... I was on the very verge of hitting the chocolates again. Dunno whats happening with that lately, I'm not normally a chocolate person! Anyway, a few mins on the forum has got my motivation back and I'm going nowhere near the chocs. :D
