Sparrows Experiment

OK OK OK!

so when do the test results come in?

prayers for you.

off to church, jumpin and mountain biking

You are definately an early bird. Wow.
and who the heck is repping you so much! wow wow!

Sounds like a fun day FF. I bet you're doing all that in shorts huh? lol. I'm still freezing.

The tech said 3-5 business days. As soon as wednesday, as late as Friday, because of the holiday. I have an echocardiogram on Wednesday and an upper GI series at the end of the week. I'm really dreading that one.

Note: salad isn't good. This stinks.

I marched myself to the gym today. I can't stand it anymore. Did spin class just at a little lower intensity. I felt super out of shape spinning. I haven't been in there for almost 2 weeks I guess. Then did a slow paced 10K in about 55 minutes. I really just wanted to be out with the wind and the sunshine. I didn't care how long it took me. It was kinda difficult, I stopped a few times but overall I was really glad to have been so active this morning.

I had a shake this morning without milk that settled well and a quesadilla for lunch that didn't settle well. I'm starting to suspect milk. That and seeds/nuts seem to be the bad guys most often.

Well it's about half an hour from 2008 right now for you - so... Happy New Year! I hope 2008 proves to be a great one for you and yours.

I noticed that heavy starches wern't the best.
when i had gal stones, mashed potatoes and saltines seemed to be okay.
I hope you get better soon

yay its 2008! The year I rock all over my old triathlon times and accomplish my half ironman!! Lets get down to business already!

I'm feeling good. My spin instructor is a nurse and my friend. She said it sounds more like an ulcer and that it can flare and then seemingly "get better" as it waits to flare again. Certain things tick it off....I'm already finding many of those things out, if thats really what it is. SO anyway, I've felt good the past 2 days and I'll keep on keeping on through the tests and stuff as long as I feel good. The blood work came back okay so thats a bonus.

Today I did spin. "Fast and Heavy" was the theme and it was challenging, but went MUCH better than yesterdays class and I felt more like my old self. I put my heart rate monitor on. I was 120-30 on the "flats with a headwind", 140s on moderate hills and my max today was 161 where I was breathless. I still don't know what my true max heart rate is but I've never seen it go above 168 so far since monitoring it. I burned 666 cals in the hour. how's that for a number

Then I did 2500 in the pool. I felt like I weighed a thousand pounds in the water but I got it done. Tomorrow is my echocardiogram.

Thanks. It was fun. We went out to a mongolian bbq place (stuff your bowl full of veggies and lean meats and they cook it on front of you) and then rented movies. Thats what you do married with children...and no available babysitters. haha. I had a hard time making it to midnight! lol. what a light weight. I have no problems on any other day but if you tell me I HAVE to stay up till midnight...then I get sleepy. :D

Sparrow, let us know the results of the EKG. We'll be watching...

hmmmmmm

let's see if you can do a 30 minute 5K. no faster than 30 minutes for the entire 5k.

(thoughts to develop during this controlled run)--- how will you control your pace if you are thinkin in 9:40 range. length of stride?, breath? heart rate... how will you think as you run to control yourself??

if you do this on a treadmill; must use 3% incline. Any warm up must be done on a cycle.

thats the challenge? whew, and I was worried :D

challenge me not to challenge you

yeah- that's what I meant to say- hahaha

anyow- this is just to be a part of whatever you do. you may find adding 2 minutes to your typical min/mi run pace harder than you think. If you run the first one at 8:30, you've got a problem, cuz then the last two will be over 10 min pace. and if you run the first at 8:30 and the second at a flat 9:00, you have to walk to that 30 min finish- YOU FAIL!

So-- no showing off for the gymsters, time to train. Let's just hope some fatty, or some new years resolver passes you--haahaa

Stop yappin and break a sweat!

I will not! Thats a death sentence!

Well this is an easier challenge if the tread is involved since I can just set it to the pace I need to be. It would be harder out in open air, which I can't do tonight-youth night hubby is gone till forever. I'd like to be able to start knowing my stride well enough that I can tell exactly the pace I'm doing OUTside. That will be important when I'm racing. I haven't been out on the pavement enough to know that yet. Last year I could do it though.

hey I'm not the show off here! lol. I'll be doin this one at the gym since I have to be there for my class. I'll set it on 3% though. I'm going to try and swim with my clan today too, as long as no newbies show up.

How're you feeling these days?

I'm feeling good Stingo! Its very weird. I had another test today so as long as all these things show nothing unusual I'll be good to go. I've been careful with my diet as when I eat certain things I can start feeling pretty yucky pretty quickly. thanks for asking

5K run 30 minutes 3% incline
20 min moving stairs-interval program- level 11

okay so the 5k thing wasn't too bad, and it had an element of challenge to it. I think had I been on flat road it would have been harder to do. The 3% incline actually slowed me enough that it wasn't hard to stay in the 10 min mile range. I did it slow enough at the beginning so I could sprint at the end :) clever eh? It felt GOOD to sprint after going virtually uphill for 30 min. I did have a hard time not pushing the pace up. Not cause it was easy, just because its what I normally do-easy or not. It was habitual to get to a certain point in the run and expect to increase the intensity. I thought that was interesting.

My heart rate stayed steady at 130. Went to 150 on the sprint.

I felt like throwing up on the stairs. Not sure why.

I was going to swim but a lot of swimmers showed tonight! I was secretly glad so I wouldn't have to swim. I felt kinda sick and I know I would have pushed it.

tomorrow comes quickly...

That's good to hear - have to say you're looking pretty hot in your new avatar, even if you're still under the weather.

What happened with the EKG?

I don't get to know, unless something is abnormal. The tech did her thing and that was that. she can't give info, even if she knew something. It was pretty cool to see my heart on a screen. It looks like it takes so much effort for every pump of it! I liked it the most when she'd put it on color and I could tell where the oxygenated/unoxygenated blood was going. it definitely backwashes through the valve, and it sounds like sludge! she put the noise on speaker so I could hear it. Sounds like someone stomping through a lot of mud.

If something is wrong I'll get a call. so far nobody is telling me anything with these tests.
