Sparrows Experiment

well I ditched afternoon snack. Made my chicken bigger portioned and forgot about the flax. However, I did have a rice krispy treat with my kids today so that pretty much evens up the score :) It actually was way too much for me. way too sweet and just heavy. yuck.
I'm between soccer practices right now. long enough to down some dinner and suit up my daughter. I swear. this soccer season is going to be the death of me.

Ah She, you're always so dang positive :)

Ok well today I was 133. very nice. Yesterday I probably had about 1650 cals. I cave at night. I get in all my cals by 6ish but then by 9 my body is like ?? more ?? haha. unfortunatly I'm not going for healthy at that point. its usually something bad for me. last night it was breyers "no sugar added" peanut butter tracks ice cream.

breakfast: 2 scoop whey, 1 cup ff milk
snack: 4 egg white, 1 whole egg, 1 serving hot oat bran cereal
lunch: tuna, 1/2 black beans, 1 c broccoli, 2 T ff sr cream, flax and balsamic
snack: 1/2 c cottage cheese with cinn and stevia, almonds
dinner: chicken breast, lettuce, tomato low carb tort

Today is a cross train day...OR day off. I did an hour level 10 on the eliptical anway but no weights tomorrow is chest day. I don't feel worse for the wear from yesterdays workout which is a flippin miracle. By this point in my week my body is usually trashed especially since i haven't had a day off yet.

Eat the recommended amount next time. You can also get light or fat free. Ice cream is "bad", but if you do it right, you'll be ok, I would think.

Don't you hate when blondes are postitive..god know I do. :D

yeah actually this kind I had was low fat with 2g of fat and 6 net carbs. It wasn't as "bad" as I could have been at all but I hate putting anything that fake into my body. I woke up with a huge side stitch..which is what ALWAYS happens when I have that fake stuff at night. Its kinda weird. It was totally controlled I only probably had 1/3 cup 1/2 at the most. 100 cals worth. Still, I need to just stay away from it and drink herbal tea when I get those cravings. that usually works.

Never tried the drinking tea for cravings. Might have to try that one. I agree w/NY, just take it all in stride. It'll all work out in the end.

oh yeah I'm not upset about it or anything. I was just mentioning its a weakness :) its good to be aware of.

btw where the heck is JaymieB these days :( I'm worried about her

OHHHH TGIF. this was the longest week EVER. To make matters worse my husband is going to Mexico for 10 days on an outreach trip starting tomorrow. ugh. he's already done this once this summer so I'm used to it. but its still hard. BUT we get to go to Tahoe for 5 days ALONE when he gets back :D I'm thrilled beyond words. We hardly ever go anywhere without kids.
9 year married in 5 days :)
man I tell y'all way too much. haha

Today I feel totally disgusto. I don't think I had enough water yesterday paired with some salty stuff like tuna, cottage cheese and tortillas, not good. I also ate very late because of soccer practice running late.
ah well.
Today is my long run! 7 miles. I love long runs. they seem way easier than my intervals or threshhold stuff. I can just pick my pace and go forever. The hardest part is mental because its on the treadmill. SO boring and I keep forgetting to change out my songs on my mp3. another problem is the treads are on a top floor overlooking the weights, mainly the pec deck. There is really nowhere to look! Its either stare there to try and focus on the run, or look at a blank wall...and then I get off balance. lol. so the burly dudes always think I'm staring at them and give me "looks" lol. its kinda pathetic.
Anyway, after running I'll do chest and abs. I have been doing my weights after running because I'm not looking to make gains I just want to keep my core strength and it seems to be working. My arm mass went down slightly and I love that. I was feeling rather masculine for a while and people said stuff constantly. The cardio is leaning me out a little I think. I have no real plan for my diet today. I'm kinda tired of planning it. I know what foods equal about 300-400 cals paired together so I'll just go by spur of the moment. I started my day with 2 scoops whey in water. Milk just sounded NASTY today and it makes my runs burpy. haha. gross.
I won't get in my morning snack because I'm swimming with Ash after I run. she is finally getting less fearful of getting off the stairs in the pool. MAN you'd think with my history in swimming I'd be raising 3 fish but really NONE of them have taken to it the way I thought they may. All have been fearful till around 3 or 4years old. strange. I was water safe and water happy before I was 2!
have a splendid day everyone

Ah, you have a daughter named Ashley..so do I. How cute is that? Her first name is AshleyRose. Yes that is her whole first name. Her middle name is Nicole. She took her dad's last name so if we ever got married, he wouldn't have to adopt her.

Well close, her name is Ashlynn but we call her "Ash" too :) Her middle name is Grace...because I knew I'd need it with 3 kids. LOL just kidding :)

Well I made my 7 miles. It was great. I only had an hour before i had to pick up Ian at school so I set it for 7.0 speed and did it straight through. It was fine, but very boring, I forgot my headphones. I almost wished I'd had more time. I could have done 8. WONDERFUL running week. I made huge progress this week, I'm really happy. Successful too with cals up to 1500-1600 and I'm down to 132. It also seems the "poochy" on my belly is disappearing. All in all perfect. I hope next week is as great.

breakfast: 2 scoop whey in water
gym: 7 mile at 7.0, decline push ups, bench press, pec machine
lunch: 1 serving oatmeal, 5 egg white, 1 egg
snack: 2 scoop whey, 1 c skim milk
dinner: out on a date, who knows

Well tonight I've been asked out on a date. I'm so nervous. what do I wear? what should I do with my hair? What kind of shoes should I wear? what about earings, yes? or no? what if he doesn't like me?

lol
anyway, my husband and I are going on a bike ride along the river and that should be so nice. We'll ride a ways and have dinner somewhere and then come back. The path goes for 30 miles, we're bound to find something somewhere :)
I have been very unhungry today, I mentioned when I do hard stuff I don't get hungry and am full instantly during the day. its weird. its like my body is busy recovering-doesn't have time to digest food. haha. anyway, I've tried to stay on course today but I've only had 900 cals. no big deal. I'll survive. Have a great weekend everyone!

Man we had the best time. We took our bikes down to the American River Trail which runs 30 miles paved between Sacramento and Folsom Lake. It was a little late when we got started so we biked for about 35 minutes out and then turned around. What freedom on that ride. I haven't been on my bike much in the past few years. There's never really anywhere to go and I'm nervous of cars being inconsiderate. This trail only allows peds and bikes. it was gorgeous, and a perfect time of night. I brought stuff to change into and my husband had made reservations at a restaurant called "The Melting Pot" anyone been to one? they are scattered throughout the country. AMAZING dinner. it was divine. You sit in a intimate booth with fondue pot on the table that has a built hot plate thing on the tabletop. You get to chose if you want the 4 courses of cheese fondue, salad, entree and chocolate fondue or if you want to do things separately. We chose to do the "entrees for two" which came with salmon, serloin, chicken breast, tiger shrimp and some other red meat cut. Also with a plate of potatoes, broccoli, yellow squash and mushrooms. You also chose your cooking method. We opted for a broth made of herbs, garlic and wine as opposed to oil. With it we got salad and dessert too. So I had this awesome salad of spring greens with blue cheese, walnuts, raisins and a raspberry vinegar dressing over the top. it was soo good. The fondue part took us a few hours! Its slow doing one piece at a time but it was nice to finally slow down. I think I usually inhale my food because kids always need something. We finished all that and then got a dessert pot that had melted milk chocolate and peanut butter and a plate of pound cake bits, cheese cake, strawberries, bananas, pineapple and marshmellows covered in oreo crumbs to dip. I had a wonderful glass of wine too. I don't do that very often.

All in all it was a fantastic time and I would totally go back there again, even if pricey, but we were celebrating our anniversary. I felt it was pretty healthy too minus the sugar in my dressing, and the small bit of dessert I had. We finished dinner at MIDNIGHT! :O Finally passed out in sleep around 2am

and today at 7am

I was 131.8 :)
