Skyler's new diary

thanks guys....spellin- thanks for poppin in!! love the newbies in my diary! :)

yeah, i think that is the plan - water, exercise, rest & recuperation....and a countdown ;)!!

my scale is stuck - i htink it is broken ;) - jk. i know it isnt but ugh....i hate plateaus.

Don't worry, you'll get unstuck soon. Plus, remember, you can't loose anymore weight until the wedding or the dress won't fit!!! :)

BTW, aside from bowflex, I also was overeating for almost a week, then the following week I dropped to normal (about 1400 cals), and after the week I dropped a lb! Maybe upping the calories for 5 days and then lowering them back down gave my metabolism an extra push? Just a thought... Maybe eating higher calories around wedding and honeymoon will be what will give you a push, who knows?

yeah, honestly, who knows ;)!!!! i found myself beating myself up today for not exercising last night. i have no excuse. i was just plain EXHAUSTED. none of my tricks to get going worked and there was NO changing my mind. luckily, i had the night alone, ate well all day (1300 calories) and had tons of water and lots of sleep - i went to be EARLY!! so, at least it wasnt totally sabataged with liquor/wine/cheese and a late night as usual. guess something to be proud of~

today was good. it again was hectic. i went from boston to nyc to boston all in one day for work meeting and then to pilates (which felt great). calories came in at 1280 which i am happy about especially with traveling (where i always feel like i am on vacation to do whatever/eat whatever i want bc i am not home). who knows why!! anyways, need a few more glasses of water and some stretching and it is off to bed, hopefully at a reasonable hour!

Hey, no beating yourself up! If your body tells you it needs rest, then it needs rest period, and you have to let it to recoup. You have a pretty stressful period(even if it is good stress), so if you feel exhausted, rest! When you feel better, you will exercise better and burn even more calories!

Looks like you're doing great on cals, even with traveling, which is hard! Way to go, you are really doing great!

thank you all....

this weekend was good....stayed around 1200-1400 calories every day so that has been good and did some heavy cleaning around the house due to house guests, etc...so i am feeling good. the scale hasnt moved a BIT but even my FH told me the other day that i looked SKINNY :D. ahhhh, that was awesome!!

anyways, this week is hectic as I AM GETTING MARRIED!!! i am so excited. i am working 2 days but running a few errands, most of it is done - hooray! the fun part!! i still have some cleaning and little things to do but nothing major :). so, i wont be posting for a while...

this week will be hectic with friends coming in and i made sure i have a good pilates class tomorrow night......wedding is this weekend and then we are off to our honeymoon for about 10 days starting sunday night so....it is maxing/relaxing and enjoying the festivities...i WILL be back post-honeymoon as i have a feeling there will be lots of vino and yummy food eaten while we are away (though i am NOT throwing out all this hard work, i am just going to enjoy!!). hopefully i just maintain.

hope yall have a great two weeks and keep up the great work. drink your water...exercise....stick to the plans...you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skyler,

My best wishes to you and your FH for the wedding! I hope it will go well without glitch. Please enjoy spending time with friends and family and the wedding, and of course the honeymoon!!!

I am very excited for you! Congratulations!!!

okay, i sound so optimistic with myself just the other day, got my goals back in line (those of you that dont know, i got married 2 weeks ago so have been mia and busy for the past 3 weeks, but i set goals for myself to start on wednesday and keep pushign the day back? why? i have no idea. i enjoyed the structure of calorie counting, the feel of the exercise burn, i love to knowing i am succeeding and getting smaller...but for some reason, i cant figure out, i haven't done a bit of exercise except my scheduled pilates class (never cancel that so i feel like i've really done nothing!). the worst part is that i FEEL it - i feel bloated, lack of energy, no motivation, low body esteem and everything that would normally get me to drink my water and just get on that elliptical, but what is it that is stopping me? i need help with my motivation to exercise and this is a BRAND new thing for me...usually a non-issue...help?

bliss

:D It's called "wedded bliss". LOL You're a newlywed, and that by itself can cause you to lose interest and motivation where weight loss is concerned. Don't get down on yourself. Enjoy yourself, your husband, your new marriage! Just try not to gain weight and your motivation will return soon. Gosh - your honeymoon isn't even over yet!!!

thanks twinmom. i figured it had something to do with the craziness of marriage/honeymoon and chaos and that whirlwind you get thrown on but still, unlike me...anyways, i feel better b/c after i posted, i went to the grocery and bot tons of healthy food and filled the fridge & cabinets. then i found an aerobics/step class on tv that wasnt too bad and got myself to do that! :) i just thought what if i was to read my post that i wrote but it was in someone elses' journal? i would recommend to get dressed, put on the sneakers and TRY to work out, usually after about 10 minutes, it isnt so bad...so, that is what i did - low impact, mind you, but still an hour of exercise and it worked. i feel better about myself already...i'll take it slow but i'll be back on track. what is the other option? eat whatever, feel yucky, lose all my hard work and go backwards - no! that sounds terrible, so back at it...

thanks for listening (reading) that this is a normal weight training/fat loss setback.

another good day so far....eating wise (#2 since all these life interuptions ;) )..and walked the dog...very healthy sunday - kashi/skim milk & berries, turkey sandwich with avacodo/lil cheese & once i get in my 6 glasses of water left and exercise for today (i think i'll do another tape as the attic w/ elliptical is HOT!), i'll be satisfied that i gave it my all....that's the most i can hope for..

i did a "slim in 6" high cardio with extra ab section for total of 50minutes and drank 8 more glasses of water so far...feeling better every day!

Hey Skyler, I just read your journal and I believe a congratulations is in order!!! How was the wedding? And how was the honeymoon? I bet you looked great in your dress and hope you might post some piccies when you get them.

I see from all your posts how hard you worked these months leading up to your wedding. You seemed to be a very determined woman and I see that it has paid off. And to come back from your honeymoon and get right back into gear is so inspirational!!!

Congratulations again, wishing you a long and happy life together!

hey scarlett, THANKS for your comments and for stopping by!! The wedding was beautiful and the honeymoon breathtaking,..has taken some adjustment to come back to "real world". Yes, I have been and am still working VERY hard as i am the slowest loser on the planet (yes, i believe that) but still truckin away b/c i have at least 10-15 lbs left to lose (to be in a good healthy tone zone). Of course, wanted it gone by June but my body wasnt working that way. Now, since i spent our honeymoon in Italy, I ate so much yummy italian food and WINE that i am bloated and NEED to get back on track so i dont lose it all together. i Dont think that i will as i am determined not to backtrack (too far) but you never know! these past couple days have been a real push for me and difficult to push through the mental part of eating the right portion sizes and exercising....but, i am excited to get back on track and start seeing results again! regardless how slow they come!! i am ready to get to maintenance and have THAT problem of figuring out how to stay there ;). Congrats to you on your 45 lbs lost!!! that is amazing....going to try and check on some diaries..

so far this morning..

kashi crunch cereal/skim milk/strawberries/black coffee (trying to up that fiber amount!!)

S

Skyler, your attitude is amazing. I really need to borrow it sometime. :)
I missed you!!! I hope everything went WONDERFUL and you ENJOYED yourself!!!!

Don't worry about slow start - you'll get back into your routine in no time. Just take it one day at a time and go slow so that your body has time to adjust, and you're not too sore.

Welcome back!

Hey skyler I never knew you were off getting married, I'm probably the most unobservant person on the planet mind you. Hope you are taking time out to rest up though, I'm glad you're finding no problem getting back into the swing of things though - that's got to be good!

THANKS!! NTL - so you are not gone!! that is a good thing! :) And, crunchie and scarlett, thanks so much for stopping by!

It has been interesting to get back to reality after the recent month of whirlwinds but we're coming along. The long weekend was helpful for sure. We were able to get our house in order and relax and get things done so that was great.

As for food - i've been averaging about 1550 calories - not bad really as I am focusing on getting back to eating throughout the day and not just one big meal and getting the water in so to eat healthy all day and end up with those calories range, I am satisfied. The exercise is coming slow but it is coming. I did a few tapes this weekend which was a nice way to break into sweating again & enjoying that feel of the exercise...of course, since my husband :)D) was off the past two days, we worked in the yard, walked the dogs and had a massive exchange session at 3 stores so that is exercise is some fashion, i believe but not exactly what i planned on....a new day is all i can say there...also, b/c of 4th of july (i can think of any excuse for this one), i definitely had too much wine/beer over the past couple days...i am counting them into the total calories but it doesnt help with that bloated/water retention feeling..........i need to swap alcohol for water for a little while, i'm thinking!!!!!!!!!

yesterday, we ate so healthy, it was great. i even made my husband (who is a fancy chef) breakfast & lunch and he made dinner. it was funny b/c he never eats enough as he is always on the run and his body was confused to be eating so healhty!! we had kashi/skim milk/strawberries for breakfast and a turkey wrap with pretzels for lunch...and then he made chicken breast with spinach and salad.......yummy! off to a good start of BOTH being healthy...he he he...

hope everyone has a good wednesday.

I think you're doing great averaging 1550. That's a good "snail's pace" for us snails!!! LOL!!! I love that!!!

Sounds like you were moving that body all weekend doing various activities and that totally counts.

Isn't it neat to say "husband"? takes some getting used to, doesn't it?
Let me tell you a funny story about my husband getting used to using the word wife...several months after we were married he was talking to our mortgage guy about some financial business and he told the guy "well, I'll have to discuss it with my wife". Then as they were wrapping up the conversation he said "I'll talk it over with my girlfriend and get back to you".

The mortgage guy was like "you've got a wife AND a girlfriend???". My hubby quickly explained that he was referring to me and just me.

Hope you have a great day!

that is really funny, scarlett. yes, we have had multiple jokes already with the wife/husband thing....it is very funny and so much fun! i used to eat 1200-1300 calories /day and i still only lost at most 3 lbs/month so i was told that due to lots of exercise i do, i am actually putting my body in starvation mode and need to eat 1500 calories per day. it is hard to think that you need to eat more, to lose more but if the trainer says so, i am going to try it out!!

It's funny you should say this actually because I was thinking the same about myself. I used to eat less than 1500cals a day but still do exercise so any day I'm exercising I eat 1500cals but any other day I'll just have 1200. It'll be interesting to see if we both start the loss again after apparently being in starvation mode. Certainly what your trainer says makes sense to me but I'd never trust myself.
