Skyler's new diary

Oh well at least you can give yourself a huge pat on the back to have got this far and it won't be that long in the grand scheme of things before you reach your goal! :)

thnaks Crunchie!! you are right. You have to celebrate all the successes or else you just quit (and that aint happenin'!!).

Thanks for stopping by!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly!!!!
I'm glad you're doing well and keeping your chin up. You should, and you deserve it because you have gone so far!!!
Happy Friday to you too!

I know exactly what you mean, I have been trying to award myself non edible treats (heh) if I loose a lot. In saying that you do tend to feel really good when you see the weight has gone down, the trick is not to go to the other extreme when it's gone up.:)

I think you have a lot to reward yourself for! You've already lost more than 20 lbs, and have less than 10 to go! That means you're more than 2/3rds done :D

You're on the last stretch Skyler, keep going!

thank you all!!! i had no computer this weekend so i couldnt check in. overall was a good long one...took my dogs (3) running 4.5 miles on saturday/sunday and went for a walk yesterday as my pilates class was cancelled. Also, did my weights on Saturday which was an achievement as for some reason i tend to slack on weight training on the weekends. Food overall was okay. I averaged 1550 calories (which is is right where I am technically supposed to be to lose fat and not muscle) so I guess that is good. I am still trying to get into the whole idea that eating MORE helps lose MORE when you are closer to your goal so you dont lose muscle...but i'm sticking to it ;) and will see results SOMEDAY!!

MJ - thanks for stopping in...

Beagle - thank you as well - you are so right - more than 2/3rds of the way!! A great perspective..

Hope all is well..

ok. i think i need a kick in the rear & somebody or more than one for some help. i am happy with my success but i am STUCK again and need to figure out how to get these last 10 lbs off of me!! i make these rules, stick to them and dont lose and then get frustrated and dont throw in the towel but dont necessary CHANGE anything either. so, where does that leave me? same weight. things are hectic as i am getting married in 2 weeks, my best friend is gettign married this weekend and there is the honeymoon but i could think of excuses all day long if i wanted to...

i need a kick in the rear to get going again..like i am starting fresh...and as much as i am happy with my 20+ loss, i am wondering if i pretend that i am starting at a zero loss wtih a 10 lb loss goal vs. the 30 that i started with if it will depress/frustrate/annoy me or if it will motivate me further? yes, im venting but wondering what others think may help after sticking ot this faithful plans alternating all kinds of things for 9 months now....i want those 10 lbs gone!!

oh chica.... that post could have been in my diary!!! we are in such the same place right now! (which of course you know ;) )

We just gotta hang in there... One of the things that I have been trying to focus on now that I have started again is to eat less fatty foods... i'm trying to limit my fat calories to 300 a day - which is easier than it might sound!

I'm inspired by your exercise... i have been slacking off and haven't lifted weights in SO long... i need to buy a summer membership to our student gym, which i haven't done yet... until then, i've been looking at my 8 min abs/legs/arms/butt dvd's but have only used them once.

Just hang in there babe!

I think amomono's on to something. At this point, the calorie count may not be the important part, but *where* you're getting those calories. If you haven't already, start cutting out unnecessary fat and sugar, and maybe take a look at your carb intake too - you need carbs in your diet, but most people really take in a lot more than they need, I think I read that few people need more than 100 grams of carbs a day. Fibre is always good to increase, since it slows down digestion, which means that first of all, you stay full longer, and also, you get much more nutrition out of whatever you're eating. It ain't just for plugged pipes ;)

Whatever you do to get that last 10 lbs off, I hope it works enough to make you happy with yourself :) Because, isn't that the important part here?

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks beagle and anomono....it just gets so frustrating...at the beginning..in the middle...towards the end that seems to never come...but i'm plugging away and i read an article last night that talked about how it is so hard to lose the last 10-15 lbs b/c you really need to be on your super A game to get it done...so that's the plan..other than the fact that i have a wedding to go to this weekend and mine + honeymoon in 2 weeks, after that, i am going to hit this this HARDER and get 'em off!! thanks for the suggestions...it is super important as to where the calories come from, not just how many there are - especially i think ? at this point....

thanks for listening (reading)...

Skyler... I think you need to concentrate right now on living your life and enjoying it to the fullest... Your friends wedding, your wedding and honeymoon... This is time to celebrate!!! So, don't worry about the weight or lbs for now...

When you come back from honeymoon, re-asses where you are... And I think (once again) that at this point the NUMBER on the SCALE does not matter!!! You need to keep your exercise up and VARY it. I think you should keep eating at the higher level(1400-1500), and keep varying the calories. Make your body burn all that food and more. It takes time for your metabolism to change. You were eating pretty low calories for almost 6 months, and I think you body is still holding on to calories.

Also, I think at this point patience is the most important thing... It takes much longer for your body to change, and you have to use inches vs. lbs...

My 2 cents... It is very long road, but you can do it.

Hi, saw your post in my diary and thought I would stop in and say hello. While I dont have anything useful to add about getting the next 10pounds off I would like to say. WELL DONE on the job so far. 20pounds is awsome something to be really proud of. And how exciting to be geting married in two weeks. Nothingtolose is right this is the time to be enjoying your self. These last two weeks will be stressful enough with everything there is to do with out putting two much more pressure on your self. I remember those last couple of weeks as a really special and exciting time, so take some time for you self, celebrate your loss so far, and your soon to be wedding. Congratulations.

Hi, girl, hope you're doing fine and just staying busy with the final wedding preparations. This is very exciting time, that's for sure, and it can be stressful if you allow yourself to worry about details too much! So take it easy, details will work themselves out, and enjoy your wedding! Hope you'll pop back in here before the big day! I am excited for you! :)

Just popping in as I'm catching up on all the diaries I've fallen behind on! You don't seem to post here very often yourself, but I can't really blame you, you've got lots to do with a wedding so soon! I hope it goes off without a hitch :)

thank you all....i am back! zoila - thanks for stopping by and those sweet comments. i appreciate it. beagle too - thank you so much for checking in. last week has been super hectic but not with my wedding stuff...i was in mobile for a friends wedding last weekend where i managed to get in two days of walking for over an hour in 90 degree heat which i really didnt expect any exercise! so that was good. i did write down food/drinks and managed to stay pretty much within my ranges however, one day was high and one day was way too low...it iwll be interesting to see how my body reacts. then, sadly, my grandmother passed this weekend and we had the funeral on monday and have been dealing snce then so i've been kind of all over the place. did manage a run yesterday and weights which was great for my stress level but i am exhausted as i am having a hard time sleeping.

i have less than 2 weeks to my wedding...my dress fits....i'm good to go in the wedding category...i'm thinking stay within 1200-1400 calories until then? what do yall think?? I dont want to feel or look puffy at all!!

i guess that is lots of water, not much salt and exercising!!??????

I am so sorry about your Grandma. Allow yourself time to grieve and find a place of peace.
You have done so incredible with your weight loss! I remember getting ready for my big day.......*twinkle in my eye* ........I hope it is magical!
Keep up the good work and drink your water AND Exercise...both will definently help with the STRESS if nothing else :p !

Skyler, glad to see you're back! I missed you around here.

My condolenses on passing of your grandmother. I agree with spelin, allow yourself time to grief and rest. Stresses like that can be very taxing physically. Keep up with exercise, but if you're tired, give your body rest. I would say eat normally like you always do, 1200-1400 sounds like a great number. Drink lots and you'll be fine! :)

Glad to have you back!
