today was a good day....i talked to a pt/nutritionist and apparently i should eat about 1400 calories so that is what i am doing. today was 1400 cal., i ended up being able to go to a pilates class and will now have the monday/thursday schedule which i am excited about (so i changed my exercise routine above slightly), anyways, pilates was awesome. i feel sore (in a good way) already, i walked the dogs after work, took my vitamins, drank my water and feel healthy and good tonight.
 
You have such an awesome outlook on the whole thing- good for you :) your doing great, and I think your definately gonna feel great for the wedding!! Keep it up :)
 
Skyler, sounds like you had great night! Did PT say anything about varying the calories day by day like we've done before? 1400 sounds good and reasonable.
 
no, she just said based on the high amount of cardio and strength training, i should be eating 1400-1450 to lose fat & not muscle....so that's what i am going to try and do...
 
Cool, sounds good! I think you were not loosing much weight when you upped your calories, because you were burning fat, but at the same time building muscle. So, while your body composition changes, the scale does not as much. I think those things just need to be waited out, because with increased muscle mass you will start burning even more calories, and will continue to loose more fat. Also, maybe when you eat smaller amount of calories, your body breaks down not only fat for energy, but also muscle, so you tend to loose a little more but at the same time that helps metabolism to slow down due to lower muscle mass.... Just a theory...

I really think that at the point of fat loss where you are now, the weight itself is not a good indication of a progress or even where you need to be. I think you should measure inches and fat % for progress measurement, because you're building a lot of muscle, and muscle weighs more then fat.
 
thanks ntl. i think you are right. i have been really focusing on eating enough but more so on building muscle, toning and getting strong so i know that muscle weighs more and that scale stinks at the 'reality' so i am going off of strength, toning and conditioning. today is my 'off day' for exercise, i have class tonight..and i need to make sure i get in 1400 calories as that is my primary goal as i have tendencies to under-eat.

yesterday was okay. got in my 1400 calories (barely)...crazy how after 8 months of eating 1200 or less, it truly is kind of difficult to add in those extra 200 calories...but dont worry, i'll make sure to figure that out! ;) yesterday was off day for exercise so that was okay but unfortunately, i only had about 50 oz of water...so i have some cetching up today with that.

also, forgot that i have an appt post work for the wedding so i should have done cardio this am and didnt set my alarm right. oops!! i may double up tomorrow...or one day this week...we'll see.
 
Sounds good! Good job on getting those extra 200 calories. I don't think I'll have the same problem. I love to eat so much (just the process of eating and actually enjoying the food), that it is very easy for me to fill in those extra 200 calories. Its a snack here and there, or ice cream, or something else yummy... I'll eat those things even if I'm not hungry, if I let myself. So its really amazing to me that you have to put the extra effort into getting those cals.
 
yeah, it was somewhat amazing to me as well. interesting how our bodies react. anyways, my plans for tonight got cancelled so i am hitting the elliptical full force tonight at home....after i walk my dogs, that is.
 
well, not exactly, ended up swapping out one of the errands that i need to do tonight with another one that is needed (clothes for the honeymoon!), so i am going shopping instead...back to the double-up plan another day this week!!
 
Ok, have to say - clothes for honeymoon are very important, so yeah for shopping! Double up another day it is. :)

BTW, where's honeymoon?
 
shopping was a success last night....(just never know!)...lots of coupons/sales and it worked out well. i was able to get clothes for my fiance for the rehearsal dinner (check) and clothes for honeymoon..i only needed a few more things but he needed a bunch so i did well :). yeah! another thing accomplished..

we are going to italy...the almalfi coast for the honeymoon :D

yesterday calories came in at 1400...i did drink some wine which was not part of my plan but at least the calories were in line....lots of water too which is good.

tonight i have pilates :) so that is great and yeah! it is almost friday...

Italy! What a treat! You guys will totally enjoy it! So romantic!

Glad the shopping was a success. Once I'm a bit closer to my goal, I'll do some shopping too. :) I love shopping when I can find beautiful clothes that fit me well, but due to my figure this was nearly impossible, so my shopping trips have always resulted in frustration.

BTW, you may want to leave a few extra spaces in suitcases when you go to Italy, as you may want to get a few pieces of clothes there! :)

Good Morning!!!! TGIF !!!! wow, this has been a long week. yes, you are right, i should leave room in my suitcase for stuff to bring home for sure!! great idea...i used to hate shopping as well ( i still dont enjoy it ) but when the clothes fit, it is a much better experience. No questions there...

Pilates was great...and i got in a 30 minute walk at lunch so yesterday was good. We went out to eat but we ended up sharing a salad and two appetizers so my calories came in at 1400 (i guess i am learning how to get those extra 200 calories pretty easily ;) ). It is so disgusting here today with more downpours...hoping to possibl y get out of work early and hit the elliptical b/f we go out of town for the night...otherwise, i'll be dancing like crazy at the concert we are going to in order to make up for the lack of cardio...hopefully i get time for the elliptical! :)

Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned. Hope you'll be able to fit your eliptical in. Although the image of you "dancing like crazy" at the concert is kind of more fun. :) I can just see you jumping up and down... :) he-he-he
