Skyler's new diary

Your Doing Awsome Hey I Have A Question For You Guys Sense You Used The Pedometers How Many Steps Ia A Mile? I Have To Walk To The Ozarks So I Have Decided The Quickest Way To Get There Is Get A Pedometer Lol Would Appreciate The Advice! Have A Wonderful Safe Weekend!!!!!!

italy..wow, thtas awesome! I can't wait to do my skinny clothes shopping, been saving money like crazy so I can well, go crazy :D
have a great weekend!

hey all....what a hectic weekend/monday...let's see...friday night i ended up not getting in the elliptical but i did dance for a few hours so that is good :). Better than nothing!! Calories came in at 1350 (a little low for my goal calorie range of 1450). Saturday calories were 1400 and my exercise was HEAVY house cleaning for a couple hours. Boy, you can work up a sweat that way!! Sunday calories were 1450. No exercise on Sunday. We had my parents over for a "thank you celebration" for the upcoming wedding..gave them a present and my fiance (is a chef) cooked an awesome wine paring tasting menu....that was my big meal of the day and lots of wine which led to the 1450 calories...we were too busy preparing, lost track of time & didnt exercise. Oops! Tonight is pilates so that is a 'for sure' will get the exercise in...and i'm drinking LOTS of water....

hope everyone had a good weekend!

Red...as for pedometer steps for a mile - i'm not sure...i just know that we were aiming for 10,000 steps / day..maybe it is in that old thread of pedometer club in the club section? too bad paula isnt around..she had the book that said how far and how much of what equalled how many steps!

yesterday (monday) was a good day overall...ate 1460 calories and had a great pilates class. drank 70 oz of water and made sure that i ate every 2-3 hours...hopefully this plan will work. i took new measurements and have decreased a few inches so truth be told - the scale flat out lies when you are closer to your goal. important to remember......

Ok My Pedometer Has Miles Also Thanks And As For How Many Cals On The Rice Diet It Is 1000 Suppose To Be!

thanks for the info, RED!!!!

oh by the way, i weighed in this morning (for some torture maybe) and it said i was up 5 lbs...impossible,yes, but quite annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It Is Sodium I Bet And Water I Wouldnt Worry About It But If Ya Want To And Decided Just Join Us On This Rice Diet Journey !!!!!!!!! More The Marrier

thanks Red......my problem before has been that i havent eaten enough. i know sounds crazy but even eating 1000-1200 calories, i consistently put myself into a plateau of some sort and i am paranoid now to eat too little...i'm amazed by all your successes however and it surely has peaked my curiousity but i am going to try to stick to my current plan of eating 1400-1500 calories / day...and see what works..

i'm thinking that weight HAS to be water/sodium and also it is my TOM...so hopefully that is the answers !!!!

Skyler, inches lost, yeah!!!! You see... The closer you are to your goal, the worst the scale is for determining the progress. I'm sure whatever weight the scale said you gained is water... If you were dehydrated and then now drinking tons of water, you body will keep retaining that water for a little while longer. Stick to drinking more and the water will be released. Tom is a huge water hogger, so no surprize there!

thanks ntl...hopefully you are right, but truthfully the scale is terrible towards the end of goal and while building muscle..how depressing (if i let it get to me too much) to GAIN when you are doing things right...crazy - my nutritionist UPPED my calories again..1450-1550/day...i'm seriously having a hard time getting it all in. Im full! hope it works !! ;)

I am sure it will work. Just eat often and in small portions to keep the engine going, and you'll be fine. I'm still loosing(although more inches then lbs) even though I've upped the calories.

You're totally right, scale is terrible when you're close to the end. It just does not reflect truthfully the body composition, and until now I've never realized that you can be dropping inches faster then pounds! (I lost about a pound and a half in a month, and 2 inches?? Never thought that could happen, but I guess it does). All in all, inches are the real progress we should concern ourselves with, so that's what I'm concentrating on!

i'm concentrating on inches as well. i re-took my measurements yesterday so i have them (as long as i dont lose them again) and that is my primary focus. Yesterday was good....I ate 1520 calories (boy, was i full!!, but i'm sure i'll get used to it)....did this new cardio/plyometrics routine and really got the sweat pouring. Good to change up the cardio here and there...The scale (yes, i got back on this morning)..ugh, what a terrible invention :)...no seriously, those mysterious 5 lbs are gone - phew!! it must have been salt/water as yall said.

I decided to torture myself yesterday and I went bathing suit shopping. I literally havent bot new suits in a few years and i spend a lot of the summer on the cape plus i wanted something new for the honeymoon....i tried on like 30 suits and ended up buying 5. yes, i went overboard on the buying but who wants to put them through that torture agian soon? NOT ME! So, figured I'm good now for a while..

Tonight I have a wedding dress fitting. If they didnt do anything again, I think my mother will blow a gasket. ;) Hopefully it is gorgeous (even w/o the pins all over it).

I'm hoping to get in some weights tonight after all that....I tried to get up this morning and my bed was just too comfortable :( so hopefully i dont get home too late...otherwise, i'll have to make up for it tomorow which i dont really WANT to do, but WILL...

Good luck on the dress fitting. I keep thinking how amazing your dress is :).

Yeah for measuring inches! Except in the stomack area, the tape cannot lie! :) At this point the scales are totally useless for you. :)

Hope you'll be able to fit exercise in! You're doing awesome!

Congrats on all the swimsuit shopping. the ones you had before probably won't fit anyway because they're oversized!

good morning all...dress fitting was a success. i LOVE it and it fits awesome. i am really excited. the lady warned me not to lose any more weight until then so i am truly focusing on toning (now for the honeymoon bathing suit part!) :D. I was able to fit my weights in last night which was great. I came in at 1540 for calories yesterday so that was good...granted some of it was some wine but the nutritionist said that was okay here and there as long as you count the calories.

Yeah for measuring inches! Except in the stomack area, the tape cannot lie! At this point the scales are totally useless for you.

NTL - you are totally right..the scale is useless at this point. What do you mean that "except for the stomach area, the cannot lie"?

hope all is well....

S

I meant that stomack expands after you eat and also expands-contracts during breathing, so I've always had hard time taking accurate waist measurements, because you're not supposed to be sucking in, nor expanding it with air, and for some reason finding that middle ground is always tough!

Other then that, tape does not lie!

Cool about the dress! Well, I guess you should not try to loose too many inches between now and the wedding, so the dress will fit fine. :)

yup...first time that i cant change too much before june 17th. that is okay. sticking to my plan as is b/c i am the slowest loser ever ;) anyways....

today was good. 1520 calories and an intense pilates workout plus a 1/2 hour walk at lunch. gotta get the rest of my aqua down and my day was a success...gotta love those!

thanks NTL. it is deifnitely hard some days to notice success and so important to really NOTICE it and not freak out if nothing changes over night or over weeks really at this stage of the game....

so, yes, i did my weekly weigh in and no changes, but at least i 'm not surprised or bummed about it as i know that these last 8 lbs are going to take a lONG LONG LONG time to get off...cant even remember the last time i was down at that weight so that alone says something about my body holding onto these last lbs with a good hard fight!!
