Skyler's new diary

hey all!!! Wow, so sweet - all the people checking up on me! :) My ankle is OK. I am wearing the air cast and have been icing it and elevating as told to do. I've done this so many times before, I think it will be a week at most until I am recovered, which is a huge relief. Last night, by the time I got home, it was swollen so I did upper body weight lifting (sitting down) and that was it....

Unfortunately, I'm frustrated (I think Tuesdays are my frustrated day) b/c I am looking for that quick fix. Aint we all, i know. But, I am about 2 months from the wedding, have 12 lbs to lose and just dont see how it is going to happen....I know I know....I'm sure if i lose 5 instead of 12, it wont be a big deal, it is STILL my wedding but I am so determined to weigh in on that thursday before and be BELOW 130!! I feel like it is totally out of my control. I know the last 10 lbs are the hardest. I know that there is no quick fix, I know that there isn't anything different to do to lose the last 10-15, but to keep focused, keep determined, and keep sticking to the plan....but yikes, anything to help speed this process along????
(thanks for listening to my venting)

All of us get frustrated, but you've done so well, hang in there and regardless you're going to look beautiful for your wedding :)

Skyler,

you're doing great. I know frustration sets in at times, but you have to force yourself to think positive. Just keep doing the best you can, and the loss WILL happen. It may or may not happen by the wedding, but try not to stress out about it. You will still look AWESOME! You've gone so far, so what if you don't get those few last lbs in time, your wedding will still be great! See if you can channel your frustration in positive actions and thoughts!

I'm glad to hear your ankle is doing better. Keep up the routine. Hope you'll heal up fast! Congrats on the weight lifting, you're doing great!

It's okay to vent - I wish I could do it to everybody all the time! hahaha.. . you should shake up your diet lots! Like from day to day... you've only got 2 months left and 12 pounds to lose so that means that you should step it up a notch and kick butt because you can do it! It's true that you'd still look just as gorgeous with only 5 pounds less but you've got your goal and you'll feel 10x better if you hit it for your wedding. And if you dont, you'll still feel amazing because you pushed yourself instead of giving up. I think you should go for it - I'm here for encouragement anytime you need it! - You'll do great, keep your head up - Look how far you've come already! :) Cheers!

Sarah- It takes time to see the results of change. You've added more protein (and calories) to your diet, you're making sure you get one cheat day in a week, you're doing your workouts, now you just have to be patient! That workout I gave you is from a book sub-titled "8 week body makeover" not 8 minutes, or hours, or days! YOU GOT THIS GIRL! Get away from that evil little number box and just focus on feeling great. Eight weeks... eight honest, solid weeks and YOU WILL SEE RESULTS! :D

OK OK OK. We all know by now that patience is not my strong suit ;). Thank you Paula and Elizabeth and NTL. I really appreciate it. I've been doing a lot of readings online and apparently, i really have NOT been getting enough calories w/ the amount of exercise, etc... soooo, okay, i'm calming, as soon as that ankle heals - i'm running! :) thanks for the support and the good 'talkin to'!

Running is great for calorie burning, but... Did not Paula say that running is not best exercise for your body type? ;) I think sticking to Paula's workout plan will really work for you, because it builds muscles, and with increased muscle mass your metabolism will increase, so it will be easier to loose. :)
You're doing great, Skyler, keep your chin up!

Yikes! I haven't been here in a while! Sorry  I hope your ankle heals up for ya quickly. Have you thought about wearing a neoprene "brace" when you are exercising? I have to do that with my knee or it'll do the same thing. As for frustration, I hear ya :D However I agree with Paula :D

Hang in there. you'll reach your goal when you are able to get back to kickin' butt:D Have a great day:D

hi! just coming in to say hey, and hoping for a super quick recovery for you! I hear ya on the running! hang in there the best ya can, and I do hope you will be running SOON!!!

Morning girl..!! :) Where the heck are you? I've got no emails.. you're not posting yet.. its like she' falling off the face of the earth. :D I mean its already 10 am for crying out loud!! :)

hey all,
the mood is okay today. i feel gross b/c i havent had any cardio (other than LIGHT walking) since Thursday...Friday was my day off and Saturday I twisted my ankle and here I am...

Anyways, my ankle is healing quickly which I am very pleased about. The swelling has gone down and I think think think (not sure yet) I am going to try either a walk or something later... we'll see how it feels at the end of the day.

I did more research last night and I'm starting to really think that my body has been borderline 'starvation mode' for a while now, which is why I am not losing weight as I would based on exercise, etc...

So, I am working to make sure I eat the right amounts of everything. Interestingly enough, it feels like a LOT of food...

so are you off of Paula's diet regime? Just wondering.. what sites are you researching on? I feel like my body has been stalling as well. Some days I really wonder if I don't have an actual thyroid issue.. or just no metabolism!! :) You'll get the last bit of weight off.. just be careful walking.. then again.. look at me, I am not one to talk.. :)

Good for you! I know it's hard to convince yourself that eating more will help you lose not gain but it will... just give your body a little time to adjust to the fact that you're not going to starve it anymore and the changes will come. As for the running, yes NTL I did say that for her bodytype something other than running would be better. However, any cardio is better than no cardio and if running is truly what she enjoys, and it's what she'll do, then it's all good (nice looking out for her though! ;)).

As for your patience, I'm with ya! After putting my six pounds of water back on, I'm so discouraged, I'm about to throw in the towel and just be a fat bride! LOL! Okay, I'm not quite there yet but definitely tired of dealing with the weight bullsh*t! SO YOU'RE NOT ALONE!!!! Email me ANYTIME!

I think I'm doing the same thing to my body actually.. I was thinking that after that juice fast I did I probably should have eaten more per day - it totally does feel like you're overeating though!.... it's funny because before that I could eat two big fast food meals per day AND MORE and not feel like I overate! You're doing great.. you'll get those pounds off... I have to eat more too - It's hard!

I think stomach and body gets used to the smaller amount of food and when you eat more then that, it feels "abnormal". Make sure that you eat additional calories from "good" food source. Maybe you can eat Paula's protein shake to add the calories and protein?

Glad to hear your ankle is doing better! Be careful starting walking on it, don't want to slow healing process. Although at some point light movement increases circulation, which actually promotes healing. You just need to know where that point is. :)

When I broke my wrist and it was in a cast, the doctor told me to do as much as I can with it (unless I could not do something because of the pain). But in that situation the cast was preventing movement/additional stress.
