I only aimed for 10 lbs because that happens to be an achievable percentage lost - of course losing more would be nice, but having a goal and something to work towards always helps me. I also don't really see this as a contest as such, more as something that holds me accountable, and let's me see how I am doing compared to others. I've never seen any of the challenges as something that I have to 'win'.

I looked at it as an 8 week "challenge" which should hopefully come out to at least 8lb loss. Going by the 1lb a week goal. Then I figured I'd challenge myself and shoot for 10lb which also gave me an even 5% weight loss goal. I like those numbers. They are achievable, but sometimes my body doesn't cooperate so we'll see if I can do it.

I agree, I joined this to try to get myself back into the routine. Something to hold me accountable for my own actions.

It's kind of funny because I fell of the wagon so to speak for quite a while, but for the past couple of weeks I've been making a big effort to get back on. I'm sitting here at work literally counting the minutes to get home to workout again. Today's my early day so I get the whole afternoon to do as I want. I picked up a new taebo DVD a while back, tried it, couldn't keep up, and gave up on it. Today I'm going to try it again. I can do it this time! :)

Ditto. I'm here for the accountability, and also to see how I do compared to others here. But not really here to "win". I think to me a "win" would be to meet my goals, or at the very least not gain weight.

Mandy: I have faith in you! Don't give up on the taebo today. If you are too tired, take a brief (few second) break and go back to it once you catch your breath. You can do it!!

Am gonna post this :- Current weight % Lost week's % change, on Sundays only. Am scared that I won't loose any weight at all, even after all the tiring. :(

(November 23rd is a Saturday, (and the Supreme Champion of the Simple Weight loss Challenge for the year isssss, Mr.......................))

Kal-El, don't be scared of not losing weight. If you're making an honest effort to diet and exercise, you ARE taking steps in the right direction. Even if the scale doesn't reflect it you most definitely will be doing your body some good. I know at times it can be discouraging, but just stick with it, you'll be fine!

Thanks, I made it through the DVD! :) I did pause it a couple of times to catch my breath and I also skipped a few moves so I didn't hurt my knees or ankles, but overall I did a great job I think. I especially like that he spends time working on your arms in this DVD. The others he doesn't do much for arms. :)

Had my "regular" weigh inn this morning, and the scales told me 197,8.
Which was to be expected, tbh.
Last week on thursday I weighed in in the 197's as well. But the "official" weigh in for the challenge on sunday (day late) it was 204 (I weighed myself a few times, it came back consistently at 204, I was surprised at that). so I guess that was water weight or something.
Just letting you know, I'm not cheating or anything. Also this was my last time on the scales for a week or 2, going on vacation :)

Good luck everyone with the challenge!

Well Guideon mine went the opposite way. I had a one day 5.6 lb gain. These fluctuations will even out over the long run. Have a great vacation! I'll use the 197.8 for yours when everyone else updates since you will be gone for a while.

I will aim for 4.63% (or 10 lbs). I should be able to do that.

Now, I would like to reach the 80's (Kg), but that would mean losing 7.88% (or 17 lbs)... And that is a LONG shot...

So 10 lbs it is!. Hopefully I'll go above it. Good luck everybody! :grouphug:

I weighed this morning & have gained! Not happy! I think I'll have to cut out starchy carbs until my weight starts to fall. I was horrified! :(

I think I may be in the same boat Cate. Scale today first said 144, then 143.5 then 146 a few times so I gave up :( pretty sure it's all the bread and rice I have been eating, need to get more veggies in my diet. But still doing good with the pop! The can of Coke is still in my fridge at work untouched and I barely even notice it now! Saving it for a day I really need the energy and hoping it can kick start me. But more than that I REALLY need to get on the exercising...

Official weigh-in at 7am, Sat 5th Oct- 190.7lbs :( or 86.5kg. This is the highest I have been since 2007 :(
I can't say it's from over-eating or under-exercising. I really don't have a clue.

This is when the time difference between Aus & the US & France gets frustrating. Hope you all are doing better than me!! :D I do aim to fix that though. I plan on having an awesome week!

Today's weigh in was very good to me. I hit my new low of 202.2lb!! Which is down 1.17% from last week. :)

Starting weight (9/28): 167.7
Current weight (10/5): 163.5
Difference: -4.2 lbs
% Change: 2.5% loss

Just a heads up, Quercus. We ran into this problem on the Team Weightloss Challege several months back where if you added the weekly percentages up, that amount didn't match calculating your percentage lost from your overall starting weight. You may notice this difference next week. So are we doing overall percentage lost from overall starting weight? And then the weekly percentage change just being separate data?

Couldn't exercise for the entire week, and it shows. 289.0 lbs, which is only 0.4 lbs down from last week, and only 0.14%. Not a good start.

SW=144.5
PWW=144.5
CW=141.5
This Week % Change= (144.5-141.5)/144.5 = 2.076% (forget how we are rounding these...)
Total % Loss: (144.5-141.5)/144.5 = 2.076%

(Goal was 139 for this week, but I also started higher than I wanted to)

Overall I call this week a success! I was happily surprised by the scale this morning, even redid it 2 more times and got the same # all 3 times. YAY!
