Scarlett's Diary - Tomorrow is another day

Challenges are good support, but they're really not what I'm interested in because I want to change a lifetime of habbits and the "race" format doesn't lend itself to it. I think you're doin awesome Scarlet.

Got a nice little surprise from the scale this morning. My left to lose number is now under the 30 pound mark. It was so nice to see a number in the 20's....granted it's 29.4 but still it makes it seem a little less insurmountable for me.
 
i love your attitude...dancing right to the treadmill!!!! good for you. you are really making LIFESTYLE changes and that is so great. CONGRATULATIONS on getting into the <30 to lose category. That is fabulous. Keep up the good work!! I know you will...
 
That's great Scarlett & I'm really proud of you for wanting to make a permanent change, not just a quick change. That's a tough thing to learn, and you've done it. I'm at a snail's pace too, and the closer we get to our goals, the slower it goes. We just have to learn to be OK with that. Keep up the good work.:)
 
Congratulations on having less than 30 pounds to lose! I haven't even lost 30 pounds yet! Lol! :p

Thanks girls.....and missprincess you make a great point about learning to be OK with it. If we could just conquer the "I want it right now" attitude it's so much better.

There is a little thing I keep in my head though. Christmastime is my absolute favorite time of the year. So for the past few years my promise to myself is that each Christmas I will look a little better and feel more healthy. And for the past two Christmases that has been true. I'm looking even more forward to this Christmas because it will be the best one yet!!!
 
Fantastic work Scarlet. No wonder you're doing so well. If you're burning nearly 500 calories you have a lot more to play with and crank up the metabolism too.

Scarlett you are doing so good. Getting closer and closer to your goal must really feel good. What is your motivation?
 
Congratulations on less than 30lbs to go, Scarlett. You are such an inspiration! Look at you joining the challenge, you brave little thing. It is a percentage challange, so your steady as you go approach will work out fine for you. The challange is to keep everyone motivated anyway....unless you're really competitive (as I look around the room to make sure my boyfriend can't see me saying that because he thinks I;m very competitive). It will be fun. I;m freakin about about weighing in twice a week. I have never weighed myself except at the Dr. etc...until I joined this forum.

I love what you said about Christmas. I love Christmas too. I hope I feel really good about myself this Christmas! It is a magical time of the year.
