Good job in your weight loss, Scarlett! I have very much RESPECT for you! Right now, even losing 45 pounds seems almost unobtainable- But reading your diary makes it seem more real- Thank you!

Okay, I have one positive thing and one scary thing to post.

Positive - found out I have to make a business trip the end of this month. So I went and tried on three business suits that I haven't been able to wear in over six years. They fit. Now I am actually a few pounds heavier then when I used to be able to wear these. But I think my figure might be a little smaller because of the treadmilling. I was stunned. In a good way. :D

Scary - we've been working in the yard this week getting everything ready for the summer (yes I know we are a little behind schedule since summer is already here). Yesterday my husband put down 3000 pounds of rock in our flower beds. He bought them in 50 pound bags and did this all himself. It took him all day. There was one bag left over. We were talking about my 47 pounds lost and he suggested I pick up the one leftover 50 pound bag of rock to see approximately what the weight I'd lost felt like.

OH. MY. GOD.

It was so heavy and I strained to lift it. Did I really used to drag that around with me every day?

So as a result I have a suggestion for everyone. And I want you to do it immediatley!!!! You've seen them do this on TV but man to do it for real is enlightening. Go find something that weighs the amount of weight you've lost....if you've lost 2, 20, 50 or 100. Just find something that weighs that much. Or next time you're in the grocery store go to the flour aisle and look at as many five pound bags of flour that equals your weight loss. Even just looking at it. Think how much space it used to take up on your body and it's not there anymore.

It really helps to put our accomplishments in perspective, no matter what amount we've lost. We've made it "git gone" and we should feel proud!!!!

Bet that little insight really helped your resolve (not that it needs much help), I remember seeing the same kind of thing on a TV program once where a lady lost loads of weight and they brought in a huge big bag of tatties and let her try and lift it. Thanks for your message re the group challenge, I think I may well sign up!;)

Scarlett, congrats on getting into those suits! Thats great!

Isn't it amazing to REALLY see how much you lost?! it really makes the journey worth while! :D

Hope you have a great day! Looking forward to the challenge !

That was really cool of your husband to suggest that- As scary as it might be, it definitely feels great to realize that you have done that much on your own.

Hey girl,

That is awesome news to here that you got back into your business suits! I am trying to get back into these capris I brought last year. Congrats on your loss of 50 lbs. that is excellent! :p Keep it up

Scarlett ~ Almost everytime I carry around my 30 pound kid, I think my goodness, how in the world do I carry around about 3 x this in extra weight!

Congrats on the suits!

Way cool fitting back into those suits... that must be a real thrill for you... :)

It's interesting to see what you've lost in weight, looks like in actual pounds.. it's astounding really what you've lost looks likein actual poundage... Go go girlie.. :)

Funny, I have been planning on going out to carry things around since I started losing weight! My 16 pound item was a bowling ball. 20 pounds is going to be a bag of dog food. I am looking forward to the bag of cement!

That is a great idea for visualization Scarlett, but if I get to my goal I'm going to need to carry around a grand piano. You really are doing great--can't wait until you hit 50.

I can't wait to lift my boyfriend. Just kidding, he weighs a bit more than that, but it is a whole adult human I will lose....and I WILL lose it.

Wow Scarlett, you are doing great. And the gap between weight lost and weight still to lose keeps getting bigger and bigger. I think after the half way mark it gets much more exciting, because rather than moving away from your current weight, you feel more like you are moving towards your goal!!

That was a great idea of your husbands. It is so easy to make light of the weight that you have lost when it is just numbers, but even looking at 1lb of butter, and thinking you might lose 1,2 or 3 of those in a week is amazing. But to think that you can barely lift the weight that you have lost ... that is such an achievement. Keep up the hard work, you deserve these great results ;)

scarlett, that's an awesome idea.
I've lost almost 40 pounds... and I tried to lift two of my brother's 20 pound weights... and well, I couldn't. I really struggled. It's amazing to think that we've been lifting this kinda weight on us for so long when u really think of it huh?
