Risty's Diary (Christina)

Congrats on the 150's! Man, I need to get back to the 180's myself...lol
But hey, about your bf's PMS, it has been provenn that they do have PMS once a month....maybe it was his time lol
Good job on keeping up with DDR! I know I feel like I've done a good workout and usually do about 12 heavy/challenge songs at once 0.o (which watses my money kinda..but hey, for what it's worth it's great)
Keep up the good work!

Sometimes I swear he has PMS in his own guy way. But he did apologize and I explained to him exactly why I needed him to do that and how it would have helped me. I also explained how important it was for my weight loss and how serious I was. So he apologized again and he seems to now understand. ....the only reason I was able to stop at 2 was because I knew I wanted some halloween candy and if I ate more my cals would be at their limit. Besides, I want to be the type of person who can eat 2 pieces and be fine with it, lol.

(oh yeah guys get PMS) GREAT! You are an excellent communicator, and that is key to any relationship! Hey that's wonderful :) Also, I totally feel you on stopping at 2 slices, CONGRATS! Me too, I seldom can stop eating something really yummy if there's more left, and I TOO want to have control of that! Anyway, great for you, and yeah, you're not overweight anymore. Your body is gonna resist your weight loss efforts somewhat. Keep doing it! You can get to your goal, wahoo!!! :D

Howdy Risty,
Yay congrats on staying in the "150's"for now then onto the lovely 140's grrrr I have a while lol...Hope you have a nice day Tammy

I have a love/hate relationship with Halloween :p

So I've been slacking :p I haven't been feeling well so I reduced my exercise last week, which I should NOT have done. Since Halloween I've eaten like shit :p AHH! Both my grandmothers always make us a special bag for halloween, I mean... how can you say no? Chips, chocolates and baked goods...oy! But not only that, we had no kids at our house so all the chocolates are .. well.. being eaten by us. So I've eaten a lot of junk since Halloween. At least most of the crap is gone. Sad to say it looks like I gained back a few pounds.

At least even though I'm feeling even worse I went back to exercising more. I did my DDR this morning which I didnt do at all last week (although last week I did go on 3 walks on my lunch hour, plus went to CK twice). So I did exercise just not nearly as much as the previous 2 weeks. Now I'm getting back to my routine of the previous good weeks, lol.

Sorry I can't really write to anyone as of right now, still need to get ready for work!

You are at 158 now?!?!? WOW!!!

I am so proud of your accomplishments!!!

I fell off the wagon for a while, but I'm back to fix it!

I'm really happy to see you are still around here!

congrats on all your progress... now just brush up on your will power and you'll ge to your goal in no time ;)

hey risty. get back on the horse and carry on! :)
the only thing that will make you feel better about the little gain is to get it off again and you already know how to do that sweetie.
*sends motivation*
xx

For some reason I'll do well one week, and then slack for a few :p It makes no sense! OY!

I'm glad to say that this week is the good week :p However I intent to keep it that way. I have goals I want to reach on the treadmill and I intend to make those goals. Besides I wanna look as good as I can for Christmas!

On the treadmill I do this program that goes up and down in increments of 2 mins. I used to do it at the starting program where it would go from 1mph to 2 to 3 and the high being 4. I used to not even do 4, so I would lower it to 3.5. Then I was able to do 4 and I would jog it, cause it was too fast to walk for me.

Recently (a few weeks ago) I started my increments at 2 (for a warmup) so it would go to 3 then 4 and then 5. So 4 is now my walk and 5 is now my job. A few weeks ago I after 5 I had to bring it down to 3 because I couldn't catch my breath at 4.

NOW, at the top I do a min of 5 and then a min of 6 (which is a decent run) AND I can fast walk at 4 and catch my breath!

So in conclusion, my goal is to do half 5 and 6 until I'm used to it, then increase it to 6 completely. Once I get used to that I'll start my increments at 3 so it will go to 4, 5 and then 6. So that most of the program will be jogging with 3 2-min running sessions. Once I can do that and do it well, I want to do more steady running.

My whole goal is to build into being able to run. I've never been able to run and gosh darn it I'm gonna learn to do it!

I hope that made sense, it's hard to explain. But I'm so glad that I was able to go from not being able to jog at 4 and 4 now being a fast walk and I can run 6! I don't think I ever thought I could, but now that I can, I can see myself doing more.

So I went on the treadmill on monday, my knee was sore tues so I rested. Weds night I went on the treadmill again (I ate too much for supper last night as well :p ) so I made sure I went on the treadmill again this morning. And this morning was the first time I tried 6 and could do it :)

I went on a walk at lunch yesterday, and plan on walking again at lunch today.

So I think my exercise is going well so far. Next week I plan to start doing some resistance with bands after the treadmill as well. I work a later shift so it'll give me more time to get into a routine.

Anyways, that's my update. Thanks everyone for your support, I always appreciate it :)

thats a good goal! i love physical abilities goal... its easier to notice than weight goals My ultimate is to do a pull up...

Well, yet again, it's been a while :p It's hard to keep focus sometimes. Especially with Halloween, Christmas (and everyone bringing goodies to work, and I mean all the time) that and Christmas itself (had 5 dinners to go to) etc etc. It was just a hard time and I couldn't resist anything. I gained 5 pounds over that period of time and I have no one to blame but myself. So of course I'm depressed at myself for giving in all the time and so that leads to me not writing. Plus when I had made my running goal, I got really sick a couple days after that and I was sick for almost 2 weeks, so that completely derailed my exercise motivation.

Needless to say, I somehow found it again, lol. Actually, what helped was this program going on in my town where you get a pedometer and your daily goal is 10 000 steps. You keep track of your steps and then enter it on their website and every month if you do over 100 000 you could win a prize so it's pretty kewl. I'm not doing it for the prizes, but it really got me motivated to make those steps and it's not easy with a desk job.

So what I've been doing for just over 2 weeks is getting in my 10 000 daily (weekends I tend to not get it, but that's ok, need a lil break, but I get at least halfway). So to get my steps I have to go on 2-3 walks a day. I go on a 40 min walk on my lunch hour, then I come home and go on the treadmill until I make the rest of the steps and depending on what I did throughout the day that can be anywhere from another 35-60 mins.

This week I also started getting back into my running goal. I'm going at it in a different way though. I do 20 mins (one min walking at a good pace, and one min running... and then I do that the whole 20 mins) it's very tiring but good! Next week I'll go to 30 mins, then the week after I'll increase my running duration, etc etc. It's kinda scary cause the 20 mins is hard as hell, but I want to be able to run for once in my life. So then after my 20 mins of running/walking, that's when I do the rest of my walking to make my steps.

With all this going on it's been hard to come on here and write about it with lack of time, plus I wanted to make sure it's something I was gonna do for more than a week, but it's been 2.5 weeks, so that's pretty good, lol.

My eating has been really good too. I've avoided the work snack cupboard completely, I don't even look in it cause if I know what's in it, I'll eat it.

My weigh in's are Friday so good luck to me tomorrow! I hope I went down and not up. I went up a pound last week which really upset me cause I worked so hard, but then I made myself realize it could be a number of things and I didn't let it get me down and I continued my calorie watching and exercising. So hopefully this Friday goes better!

I will be checking in again now that I'm not upset at myself :p Plus I think it's important to write things out, feelings, goals, etc.

Sorry for my constant ups and downs, but that's life and I'm just trying to break myself of that habit. I need to be more consistent with my exercise and eating habits and I need to be help accountable.

I don't know if anyone will even check this after I've been in and out a few times, but that's ok, I just need to write and keep myself on track :)

Hey, well today was weigh in day and it was good :) I went from 158.6 to 156.8... so almost 2 pounds! Thank goodness, I worked hard. WOO!

Well I must be off to work. Fun fun! lol

*waves at Cerella* Thanks for stopping my my lil diary, lol.

You seem to be doing really well! I know what you meant about it being hard to be on here all the time... I have the same problem. With college, trying to work, homework, cleaning, etc... its hard to make a schedule that fits in EVERYTHING. Great job on losing weight!!

Well, two weeks ago I did awesome and then last week not so much! LOL. I went to my grandma's house to learn how to cook some stuff which meant I brought home a ton of food not part of my eating plan. So tha threw me off. Plus my uncle took me to a belated b-day dinner last monday... I swear I ate 2000 cals just in that dinner... CRAZY! So with all that I kinda got upset with my eating and didn't go on the treadmill until weds (for only 10 mins) and then thurs (only for 20). Which I should be going on more eating like that, but ah well.

Even though I didn't go on the treadmill doing my runs like planned I still went on my 40 min brisk walk on my lunch breaks everyday. I did not want to do them, but I did. So at least I did that much with being in the mood I was in.

About my weight, it said I went up a couple pounds, but it may be only fluctuation. The only bad day I ate was Monday, and with the leftovers from my grandma I spread it out over the week and ate little portions of it, so that shouldn't have been so bad. So I dunno.

About this week, I'm back at it. Kicked my butt for being stupid last week, lol. I'm now trying Bikram yoga (heated yoga). It's very hard to be in the heat but I like it. It gets you thinking on yourself and it really got me refocused.

I did my 40 min walk monday plus yoga (which is 90 mins). Tuesday I walked for an hour (15 before work, 40 at lunch, and then a warm up before my treadmill run) and also did the treadmill run for 20 mins (one min walk, one min run alternating).

Today I'm going to go on my 40 min lunch walk and the yoga again tonight.

My eating has been great, I've been sticking to my calories (however yesterday was a tad low).

So with all of those, I'm hoping this Friday's weigh in will be more .... better. lol. And whatever the weight is I will change my ticker. I didn't last week in case it was fluctuation, but this week I'll know for sure if it's weight or not.

Everyone, thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it :)

No problem at all!

I understand that life gets busy! I haven't been on here nearly as much as I used to.

I still support you, even if you can't be here all the time!

:D

Hey there Christina,
looks like your been doing great and I see the ticker
heading south here!! Congrats on walking and yoga 90 mins thats
some hard work!Whats the difference between yoga and pilate's?
Ok well have a Happy Valentines day Tammy

So I went to my Bikram yoga today and it was HOT! They heat the room which is kind of challenging but it's good (and very sweaty) lol. My first class was monday and I had a hard time breathing. I felt like I wasn't getting enough oxygen and I felt kind of panicky. But today (being my second class) I knew what to expect and it was perfectly fine! So I'm relieved to see that even though the first day was kinda hard (breathing-wise) it gets easier.

The class itself is hard and my balance isn't the greatest. I'm really looking forward to getting more flexible, stronger and more balanced. So I signed a 3 month membership (unlimited use) so I can go whenever I want. I'll basically go when my sis goes. I won't go tomorrow being Vallentine's day and she doesn't wanna go on that day. Plus I was doing this one posture kind of weird with my knee and so it's kind of strained and needs a break. So I'll walk tomorrow and do my walk/run combo on the treadmill when I get home (or even better yet, before I go to work so it's over and done with).

I don't know what the yoga is like that's not heated, but I'm sure it's just as hard, lol.

Tammy - about the difference between yoga and pilates... I don't know because I've never done a pilates class. But it would be interesting to try both, and even try other yoga types and see what they're all like.
