My Naked Life. <3 Amanda's Diary.

Well let me start off by saying that I have a huge problem with eating sweets, and snacking through out the day.. I work from home doing daycare, and I have recently become so lazy and overweight that I don't even recognize myself. I was at Benihana with my boyfriend last night and they took a picture of us at the end of the meal, I was completely taken back by the person l saw, double chin and all! I don't look in the mirror on an everyday basis and see a person THAT big, so when I saw it I almost cried! I decided I can no longer do this to myself, I HAVE to change my eating habits, NOW. I don't even know what happened to the old Amanda, the one that had an amazing body other girls would kill for, the funny girl that didn't care what people thought.. Well, I know what happened, I got into a mentally abusive relationship at 16 years old with an extremely jealous guy, and ended up gaining 50lbs because he didn't never wanted to go anywhere in fear of other's hitting on me. I lost myself in that relationship. Now I have a daughter with him, and he's not in either of our lives, so i'd say it's about time to lose the weight that came with the relationship!


Currently, since I am at home all day with the kids, I barely get any physical activity, have ZERO energy, and I end up eating for pretty much any reason other than actual hunger. In fact, I'm not sure if I know what it feels like to actually be "hungry" anymore. This is an extremely depressing thought. All I know is that I have been making excuses for too long! I keep telling myself that I can't go to the gym because no one will come with me, i need someone to remind me not to eat bad foods, or force me to wake up early to go workout. The fact of the matter is, I should be telling MYSELF those things. I have to be done making excuses and done being fat.. I will post here everyday to track my progress. Weight lost, foods eaten, and workouts.



THIS IS MY GOAL: To weigh 165 again, and look like this. (This is the only pic I have from this size, cause even then I thought I was fat.)

Welcome to the forum!

The good thing is that you RECONIZED you must do this for yourself and that is a huge step.

You have to figure out a eating plan that goies for you and your workouts.

This place has helped me SO much to continue trying.If it wasnt for all these lovely people i dont know if i would have been on my diet for 4 months now.

So come on everyday and post~We are all going through the same stuff.

How much do you weigh now?how tall are you?

I now how difficult it is cutting sweets and all day snacking but you can replace the bad snacks with carrots , veggies, a low cal cereal bar, low fat yoghurt ect.

It kind of sucks in the begining but after a little you will get used to it and specialy when you see your body responding!


Something that really work 4 me is taking pics of myself in clothes that dont fit.And im into a great suprise when they finally fit!and i have PROFF , and i can compare!

I know my body usually starts responding very quickly to working out and eating healthy, I just lack motivation a lot. Now i'm saying FAILURE isn't an option! I already feel better knowing I'm not giving myself any excuses! I will definitely try buying veggies to snack on, I buy a lot of fruit already, but the sugar in all the fruit probably isn't the best choice.

Just give it a try,there is nothing to loose.If you commit yourself on here, and with your workout it wont be that easy to just eat junk cause you;; be thinking twice about it.

Are you planning on having several little meals or not?and MUST have stuff in fridge or cuboard for binge times!only healthy things!

Dont even buy the crappy stuff.It is a little difficult but if you DONT give yourself the CHOICE and just say NO FINISHED you will get going!

It good you already eating fruits.I dont think you should over eat them as you said.I think its 2 portions of them a day.But still its WAY better and healthier that any chocolate or cake.

Also have a day a week you can treat yourself to something yummy.If you can ,that is.I find it hard to eat something really naughty and then STOP.i go on and on.So i preffer to just not have any at all.Its about self control....!!!!I

4 months ago when i started my diary it was sooooo difficult for me to stay away from chocs.I was thinking of them 24/7.It DID get easier for me.I dont think about them all day anymore and i find it a little easier to avoid than in the start.So have in mind that things are going to become better,you are going to look fabulous and hot,and you will gain a better health.I think that is enough to turn your back on bad habbits!

Thanks! It's a lot more motivating when I'm on here, and everyone is here for weight loss. I have gone thru stages where I eat really healthy and only buy healthy things at the store, in fact almost every time i grocery shop i buy healthy foods. I think my biggest problem was getting fast food. I know that I can do this, I have done it before and lost like 20lbs but then I slipped back into poor eating habits. Your adviced is all great and I am planning on making this a lifestyle change. I don't have self control when it comes to eating sweets, i also eat more than i should, so i think i need to cut it out completely for a while. How much weight have you lost in these 4 months?
 
Hey girly, even though you have gained abit of weight you have still remained so pretty:) I totally agree with Jasper, posting in this everyday will help keep you motivated. Your addiction is sweets, mine is chocolate. I THINK ITS HEAVEN. Its very annoying how much i love it!:(:(


Im so sorry to hear of the abusive relationship you had when you were 16, i bet you are a much stronger person now:) I wish you all the luck in the world sweetheart:) Cant wait to hear your progress:) xoxox

I can't wait until I can say the same. Yeah, it was a lot to handle at a young age and it lasted for almost 4 years but i'm finally out of it and determined to get ME back. Are you on here every day? No problem hun, i was only saying the truth!!;) I hope you realise you are still beautiful even with an extra few pounds! Thanks a million deary, but i ate so so bad last week, i was out of control haha:) I ate good today thank god!! My weight has gotten me down so much in my life, i have just turned 21 recently and have never had a proper relationship with a guy over it! So hearing your abusive story upsets me even more, i cant believe men can treat any girl like that. Im so happy you are out of that relationship hun :grouphug:

Awh thanks so much hun, my only advice to you would be to try to do some form of exercise every day, i havent been doing that and instead of losing 26 pounds i could have lost alot more.

I have been eating crap for the last 2 months! Lol! I can't wait to start feeling good again from eating right! I am getting a gym membership also so I can start working out every day.. We are really close in age! That's cool, I'll turn 21 in january. Relationships are very hard especially when you don't have love for yourself first. I'm trying to have a good attitude, and i'm glad i found somewhere to go to for support ! Have you started working out recently? If so, what kind do you do ?

Its so cool that we are the same age though:) I love finding people on here that are going through the same thing at the same age, it makes you happy that you can relate you know? What height are you and what weight are you if you dont mind me asking? What is your goal weight?


I have not started working out AT ALL. Im a real fattie, but i promise im starting tomorrow, so i will let you know how i get on:) I am going for a fast morning walk tomorrow, then im going to walk the stares for 5 mins, and do an exercise dvd. Well thats the plan, lets hope i stick to it:D xxx

Lol 5 months isn't waaaaaaay younger. Haha. Anyways, when I signed up for this I was hoping to find someone that was close to the same age, size, and wanted similar goals so that we could be weight loss buddies. I am 5'2 and I weigh around 215. I haven't weighed in like a week so give or take a few lbs. I'm looking to get down to like 160-150 range, possibly lower- alot of work but i'm ready to BRING IT! How tall are you and what are your goals?

I am starting to work out tomorrow too! I think i'm gonna do it with workout vids on my tv. They wooped my ass into shape quickly last time around. Lol!
 
Yeah hun you can defo get to 150:) I can totally believe you can do this:) Yay so the two of us are exercising tomorrow, NOW WE HAVE TO DO IT :D hehe


Im 5'7 and my ultimate goal is to be 130 by March 2012 but i say that is a huge stretch!! I really want to be 180 for christmas so i would want to move my ass!! haha
 
AIRISH I am 30yrs old and soon to b 31 lol I must b the great granny then lol! You girls are so young.

Amanda I agree with Irish you r a.much stinger person after coming out of an abusive relationship and I'm pleased to hear that ur doing this for u. We're all here to help and support u.

My downfall is chocolate crisps, toast and peanut butter and of course wine beer and cider...so yeah just about everything I like is bad for me *sigh*
Also when I POP to a shop and want a bag of crisps..which these days is like 60p for a tiny bag of crisps...then I see a multibag of crisos for £1 so I buy them and eat a few bags *sigh* just too much temptation.

Oh and it appears when u reach 30 you really do start to sound like ur mum....complaining about the price of a bag of crisps lol
 
I know you can too! 130 by march is probably too much of a stretch. Thats like 90 lbs in 6 months! You want to make goals that are attainable so you don't lose motivation. We should make a goal together or something,180 by christmas would be great! We should both shoot for that. Working out 5x week would probably produce the results we're looking for..

You're definitely not the great granny! Lol I am so glad I found this site! Everyone is so supportive! I feel 10X more motivated now than I did when I woke up this morning. Being overweight is a vicious cycle of emotions!


Don't worry I have tonssss of downfalls too! Cookies, ice cream, soda, and fast food are my worst enemies! My current boyfriend loves salty food so we have major problems, I'm addicted to sweets and he is the salt lover! I think we just need to ban all bad foods from our house..
 
Cut out the fast food it is so fattening and unhealthy.Have you checked out on the cals of a burger????its scary i swear.

How are things going today?

I started out at about 97 kg and im 82 kg today so ive lost about 14-15 kg in 4 months.I want ot go down to 65 so ive still got a long way but i think i ll get there this time!!!
 
Things are going great today so far. Haven't eaten anything yet, and I plan on getting a workout in today! I know that fast food is absolutely horrible! I am cutting it out completely, along with sweets.

Wow that's great that you have lost like 30 lbs! I'm sure you can lose the rest with some hard work. =)

Since I still ate pretty bad yesterday and didn't weigh myself officially, I am going to start my weigh in's every friday to track how much i've lost. This week my goal is 3lbs.


Begining weight: 220lbs!! Omg more than I thought.


Goal by next friday: 217lbs.



I hope to lose 3lbs a week and my goal is 175 by my 21st bday! January 8th. :biggrin:
