Happy Day 1! Let us know how it goes. I agree - the mojo is just waiting for us to go out there and get it - the mojo helps them that help themselves?! Something like that anyway!
 
There's a great Ted talk by Mel Robbins where she says, 'You will never feel like it.' It struck a chord with me and I got my ass back to the gym today. Good luck with the walking challenge. Or should I say walking opportunity. :p

Yeah it went well . It's really all about creating a new habit isn't it .

Yes there is another one that says you will never regret doing it but you will regret not .

Can't wait for brighter mornings as I will definitely be up and out then . Too dangerous here right now as the roads are treacherous no lighting and icy or wet .
 
Good for you challenging yourself to walk each day, Petal. I would love to get out there in the mornings, but it goes against the grain for me. I am not a morning person. As you are talking about looking forward to the days getting brighter soon, we are starting to have cooler nights & needing to pull up a cotton blanket. I'll be envying you your Summer before too long.
 
Cate I have 3 items on my bed , a warm duvet a bedspread and a fleece blanket . And I take a hit water bottle to bed every night .

Day 2 walk done . Went with a friend . Did a good hour walk . Day 3 will do later .
 
Hey Petal. I get into a good routine with running and then I fall out of it again. I have a fairly good baseline of being able to run for 30 minutes even if I haven't gone in a couple of months, probably just from the certain amount of walking I do and the other gym classes/yoga/swims I fit in. I think I have just consistently trained enough over the last 4 and a half years that I can slack off for a bit but it doesn't take a lot for me to get back into my routine again. My baseline fitness is so much higher than it was 6 years ago, it's ridiculous.

If anyone ever asked me about exercise/running, I would say that consistency is key. My housemate could eat a ton of Mexican food and drink his own body weight in booze at the weekend, but he had such a fit body with low body fat because he was consistently training every week for years and years of his life so far. Obviously, that gets harder to maintain as you get older, but I always think that routine is king when it comes to health.

Long story short - keep going with the walking challenge and you will reap the benefits.

I have just done day 4 so I’m pleased with that . Horrid eve to be out walking but I did it . Not eaten much today . Might have something before bed .

I often found when I was in beast mode (which translates as never missing a day even when a) it was raining b) I had my period c) I felt sick d) I was having a bad day or e) all of the above), the weather when looking outside the window isn't half so bad when you are actually outside in it.

So true! There´s something special about being outside in the wind and the rain if you´re doing it voluntarily. Keep going Petal, you´re doing great!
 
Hi Petal - sorry to have missed your posts - darn alert reminder didn't tell me you've been posting! Are you still doing your book, too? With the walking every day challenge, what are the details of how long you walk or how many weeks you are doing and all that? I think I may also join you for the week days. How are you feeling lately? I hope all is going well and the walks are helping with relaxation!

Aw thanks Cate . It’s motivating me too as I just want to tick those boxes everyday . It is amazingly how quickly I notice the difference

That’s ok Marsia . Yes I am doing a minimum of 30 mins everybody day and more when I can . It’s kind of partbif my book as the stage I am I haven’t moved on to much so basically 4 days I have to have activity days and 3 days people orientated days .
I have definitely improved my diet naturally over the past few weeks .

That's really interesting they have you focus 4 days on you and 3 on people. I wonder why? I'll try for the 4 days exercising with you - should be able to do that!

So happy to hear your diet is helping you feel better!!! What sort of differences do you notice doing exercise everyday? I am getting better at exercising, but it's definitely still very spotty. I'm really happy for you how motivated you are!!!
 
Just dipping into say hello . I ended up walking for 90 mins yesterday broken into 2 lots of 45 . My days are pretty hectic just now so excuse me if I don't write much . Hopefully will calm a little tomorrow. Marsia I think I ended up with 4 days exercise 3 days people just to push me into chsnging my habits based on what I answered in a questionnaire. Probably what LaMa said too I'm a bit of an intravert . I did 2 nice things for 2 different people yesterday so that was good .
One of my possible challenges is to give up my phone for a day so going to do that soon .

I feel very bloated last couple of days . I'm not overeating or eating unhealthy so not sure what is going on . My hands are bit puffy and my shoes felt tight yesterday morning . Weird
