Petals diary

Hi Petal, I hope you are able to find nice ways to adjust to your husband's work where it doesn't stress you so much. It seems like a lot of my stress in situations about work (or maybe you are talking about not having as much money or something) is about what might happen, so I hope you are able to let those kinds of thoughts go so you can problem solve with a less stressed out perspective. Sorry, not quite sure what you are stressed about, so this is a little wordy!

I'm so happy we are all figuring out how to destress this year. I bet it will make a huge difference in life!!

Trying not to stress is really important. I got myself so involved with the golf club because I tried to relieve some of the pressure on G. That sure didn't work. Take good care of yourself Petal & keep doing what you have been doing. I see you getting stronger & stronger by the day :grouphug:

Just keep in mind that they are not your work changes. Be supportive but don't make it into your problem if you can.
Easier said than done .

Marsia it's hard to explain but it's like he makes these life changing decisions and decides to take me along for the journey and it's either going to be a rough ride with a crash ending or rough ride but get there safely . I have lived with this for 20 years . I like to feel secure and right now I don't .
One of my dad´s favorite saying translates to: "People tend to suffer most from the suffering they fear."
That's a very good quotation LaMa . Will remember that .

Thanks Cate yes I feel like I have come along way so must not slip back. Spent yesterday doing a good clean up as have some guests coming over weekend . Nothing as exciting as your improv guests Marsia . :)

Easier said than done is right. Ok, time to panic!!! ;)

That sounds tough that you are not involved in the decision-making process. It sucks.

I have a maybe slightly similar situation where the work we do is contract work, so one week my husband wants to order the rest of the lighting so we can finally see better in the dining room and kitchen, and the next week, he wants to comb through the shopping bill to see why I spent the normal amount on groceries. Our income is really highly variable, which drives me crazy, because it affects J's mood so much when we are down on funds. He becomes a fuss pot who wants to micromanage me. I have learned to tell myself it will all work out, and so far it has! I hope you can find a good way to not hold your breath too much!!!

You can have my improv guests if you like! It is going to rain here all weekend, and we will be stuck here with about 10 super loud people in the middle of the house where it is hard to sneak past them to rooms where it is quieter! It will probably be interesting though!

:grouphug:

I think we torture ourselves by having people over, just so we have no excuse to not do the housework. I hate the stress of someone coming to stay but do love having a really clean & tidy house. Hope your weekend is fun Petal & not all work xoxo

Marsia that sounds a bit like my husband . And yes things normally work out but there have been times the stress is really humongous. We are lucky in that we have no mortgage or loans and I work but he has no idea the toll it takes . I think it will be ok this time but we shall see .
Yes clean house is good and we always enjoy the visitors . Speaking of which I should shake a leg and see what's going on for breakfast .

At least you have a stable income from your work Petal. Enjoy the visitors.
That's a good point Em , although it's not huge but I cut my cloth to measure .

I had a day off yesterday. I was tired and I took it easy for the day and had a day off internet , cleaning etc. I did cook though . The day flew by .

Not been reading my book last few days but will get back to it today . I'm going to revisit some of the older challenges and start the phase I started last week again .

I promised myself to find my exercise mojo again starting today so I hope to have something to report on that later tonight .

Wishing you all a happy week

Sometimes a day off is exactly what you need. Have a nice week as well!
Thanks LaMa .

I have joined a 100 day walk challenge ( what have I done lol ) start tomorrow. Think perhaps my mojo coming back .
Also I skipped today . Took a while to get the hang of it again and ended up doing a good few lots of 20 at a time . It’s hard work heaving myself up and down :jump::jump::jump:

Skipping is absolutely exhausting, well done! Don't overdo it, especially at first, as it can be rather hard on the joints.

No I knew when to stop LaMa . Didn’t feel up to dinner this eve as I had some large mushroom with spinach and tomatoes for lunch so having some poached eggs on whole grain toast now before bed

Wow, good luck on your walking challenge!!! I love skipping, too, but agree - so tiring! Glad you got a nice day off - hope for lots more of those for you and more carefreeness!

Skipping? Wow! Well done, Petal. I still haven't found my mojo, but am going to get outside & drag any dry stuff away from the house today.

Thanks Marsia and Cate. I think Cate it's more me going out to find the mojo tbh . I'm finding it easy to be lazy especially winter months . But evenings are getting longer so no more excuses .
Yikes Day 1 starts today.

Hey, going out to find that mojo is about a thousand times more likely to end in success than sitting around waiting for it to find you. Well done!
