One Step at a Time

A few days have passed so I figured I should probably come give a bit of an update.

First up is that I may be going to back to work around mid June. I'm thinking what I'm going to do is save up a bit of money and work the full time hours like I did before but after a bit, cut back my hours to give me more time with the horses since I have so many of them now lol.

Anyway, yesterday was pretty busy. Spent most of the day with my new filly and setting up some metal pannels to make the pen a bit smaller to make it easier to work with her. Also had to move the panels several times since the guy a the stables wanted to clear the pen right away. By the end of the day, I was sore and most of today, I've been rather stiff from moving those panels. Each panel on it's own was probably about 60 lbs or maybe even 70 so they were not easy to move by hand. Definitely got a workout with that.

Then today, I went for a riding lesson this morning for an hour as well as went for a 5-10 minute ride on Sam this evening. So I've got that for my exercise today as well. My riding sessions weren't that long as well as consisted of mostly walking as I was quite stiff today. Ended the day with a bath with some epson salts to help with the stiffness and already feeling better.

But ya, that's the general update for what I've been up to.

Oh! And on Monday, I went to the next town over to where Jack is at the trainers and got to go for a trail ride on him. That was a lot of fun but he still has a ways to go to get better but he's got a pretty solid start.

Last pic is of Chester, the horse I ride for my lessons.

just a short update real quick since I managed to find my measuring tape lol
Also, I weighed myself this morning at the more normal time I weigh myself and the scale couldn't decide if it wanted to be at 197 or 201 lbs lol xD

Current Measurements:

Neck: 14 (-0.2)
Arm: 12.4 (-1.4)
Bust: 43 (no change)
Waist: 45.8 (-0.2)
Hips: 44.5 (-0.5)
Thigh: 22.4 (-3.1)

So like I figured, I've definitely lost weight/inches everywhere. Pretty happy with where I'm at right now. New pics for comparison will be coming at the end of the week if I do average out near the 200 mark.

@LaMaria
lol ya, I'm thinking it's time to get a new scale. But it does make me happy that I've also been doing measurements so I still have one reliable way to judge the progress.

My scales play up when they need new batteries. They definitely also need to be on an even floor. Well done on losing inches, Ann :D

yes inches lost is a good thing to go on anyhow as scales can be misleading. Hopefully the scale can give you a reasonable idea of how you are doing generally, when you add into it the measurements. And also other things like energy levels (and yours sound really good!)

So yesterday, I learnt how to rope in about an hour lol. That got my arms a bit sore, but I'm pretty happy with the progress since I was able to rope my filly.

General update is that between yesterday and today is that I was able to catch the filly and start working on teaching her to follow and turn. I was also able to reach out and rub her neck as well. So I'm pretty happy with the progress we're making. It probably won't be long before I'll be able to halter her and lead her that way.

As for other exercise, I was actually able to take Sam for a walk. Tacked him up, but then just led him off property down the road a bit. Sam tends to walk fast since he has long legs, but I was actually able to walk a brisk pace the whole time without getting sore or tired and didn't need to stop. Now, the walk wasn't overly long, but even so, the distance I went and at the pace I walked, normally I'd have to stop 2-3 times or at least slow down to a crawl. So that was a nice accomplishment. Pretty nice to know my stamina is getting better and my muscles are getting stronger too.

I think I've also decided 100% to name the filly Sadie. It means princess and with the parts of her personality that I'm seeing, it definitely fits her.

It really surprises me how quickly you are able to make that sort of contact with a wild horse, but i guess it makes a big difference her being young? Do you know what happened to the mother? Sadie's a lovely name.
That is really great how much fitter you are feeling. You look good in the pictures

@liza
Age doesn't make too much of a difference unless the horse is over 5 or 6 years old. There are some trainers who can get as far as I am now in one day of having the horse and farther. As for the mother, no idea.

Glad you guys think so. There are times I think it's flatter but other times I think I'm just imagining things lol. So it's nice to know that it looks better to you guys as well.

So I had yesterday be a break and got back at things today. I've now got the halter on my filly, Sadie for the first time and can touch her almost all over. I also rode Sam for a little while today and making progress there too.

For some reason it feels like there should more of an update but there really isn't much to say. Either way, it's been a good day and I plan to do a lot more riding this week and all that good stuff. I also have my step-mom coming out tomorrow and she's probably going to be here for a week or so, so I'm really looking forward to that and going out and doing things with her.
