One Step at a Time

Today has been pretty good. Spent a good chunk of the morning and evening with the new filly. Thinking I might name her Cinder unless I find another name I like more. Anyway, I did manage to touch her a little this evening and that was pretty exciting! But I have already noticed that I'm going to have to be careful how I go about things with training her to a certain degree as she's already wanting to try to test me a little. Example being, after the second time I touched her and took a step away to take the pressure off so she gets to relax, well she decided she wanted to pin her ears and turn her butt to me. I ended up having to chase her off to show that aggressive behavior like that isn't going to be allowed and after that, she never tried to pin her ears again lol. I was able to go and touch her again after that, but she definitely took me more seriously after that.

Also spent time with Sam. Got a bit more exercise there since I took him for a walk around the farm. When I first went into his pen, I was super pleased with his response since the moment he saw me, he called out in a loud whinny and literally ran over to me. Felt amazing to know that he wants to be with me so much that he stopped what he was doing and came for me. As for the walk, he was spooked by a lot of things but we worked through it. At the end, I let him loose in the field but he remained glued to my side. So we spent some time walking and running around the field together. He basically was my giant shadow since everywhere I went, he followed. I want to try to record it sometime and show you guys a little video of some of this stuff since it's one thing to read it, but another thing to actually see.
But ya, I definitely got a decent walk and even a bit of a jog in when working with Sam.

So ya, that's about it for today. Of course, here are some pics of the filly and a pic of Sam out in the field which is actually the view I have when I step out of my front door.
Oh! And if you have any suggestions for names for the new filly, feel free to share them :)

Nice pictures as always, thanks!

I like the name Cinder.

I'm glad you guys like the name Cinder. I'm definitely heavily leaning towards it as her name.

Anyway, figured I'd give you guys a final update to the whole kitten situation since it turns out it wasn't over. Also, when I went there yesterday, there were 2 black kittens, not just one!
Got a call this morning from the barn owner. Long story short, I was allowed to take the one home and the other kitten that was dropped off for who knows what reason was going to go to someone else. So I went and picked up the one that I had last time. He's now home with me and I'm glad to have him back since I'm not too happy with how that lady (not the barn owner) handled it and how she didn't take care of them properly and left a chunk of the work to her grandma to tend to instead of cleaning up after him herself and all that.

So ya, the little guy is home with me. Ivy doesn't care that he's back. Once in a while she still growls but she let him sit right beside her without problem. Tiger is VERY grumpy that he's back lol. But he's here to stay now and she's going to have to get used to him. I think she hates him because she's very pocessive with me and is even jealous when I'm holding Ivy and Ivy's been around longer than her lol.
But I'm glad he's home with with me.

In general, I don't have much of an update for today. It's super windy and raining off and on so I'm just going to hop on the exercise bike for a bit today and call it good. Of course I went to see the new filly this morning and I'm going to see her in the evening as well. Just don't know how much I'll be able to do cause of the weather.
Oh! And when I left this morning, Sam saw my car and called out and ran along the driveway (his pen is right next to the driveway) as I drove out until the fence ended. Was quite something to see him running after me like that.

And I'll add in some pics that were sent to me from the lady who has my other little filly. She's feeling quite frisky and her legs and tendons are doing a lot better and she'll soon be ready to go out on bigger turnout.

I'm glad the kitten is back safe with you Ann. Will you keep him permanent or offer him out to a good home?
Like everyone else i like the name Cinder.
Very sweet how Sam is really showing his affection for you lately :)

@liza
Considering how hard it was for me to bring him back, the little guy is now here to stay permanently lol.
I love that the kitten has found his permanent home with you :) Have you settled on a name for him? How about Barney?--get it cuz you found him in the barn? haha

@LaMaria
Ya, that's kinda how I feel. But I'm just grateful that when I dropped off my little guy, she at least provided a bag of kitten food so he could actually eat that time around as he needed. She also kept the bowl I provided for water so he actually had access to water all the time. So I am grateful that she stepped up and did that at the very least.

@liza
No name yet, I've just been calling him Little Guy or Furball so far lol. And I get the idea with the name Barney, but it makes me think of the kids show of the purple dinosour named Barney and all the drama that happened with that. But that was a good play on words lol.

Got out and about today again.

Made progress with the filly today. She actually ate out of my hand, followed me around the paddock, and also touched my shoulder and leg with her nose so I'm pretty happy with the progress we're making :)

Also went to a horse riding lesson to work on my riding skills. Had the lesson with a friend and I rode one of her horses so that was fun to get experience riding another horse. So I got in my exercise with that.

So this is just a short update.
Some pics from my time with the filly today plus a goofy one of Sam that got during mid head shake lol.

Oh, and I made a video with some of the stuff I've done with the horses. If you guys are interested, I'll post a link to it but if you're good with just the pics I post here, I can leave it be as well.

Wow that sounds like great progress with the filly. Nice that she's so comfortable already.
Great pictures as always!!

@LaMaria
Sam and the filly aren't in together. The filly is at the stables in the paddock that Sam used to be in. Sam is now at the farm where I live. Because the filly is wild/feral, I need to have personal 1x1 time without another horse getting in the way or making it more difficult.

Well, my jeggings don't want to stay up for more than a few steps at this point lol. I also have a pair of jeans that I used to not be able to put on at all but now I can do them up. They're not quite comfortable enough to wear all day, but I can actually get them on now and do them up and could wear them for some time. Also, more lady related clothing wise, I find my bras fit differently as well. Like, the sports bra I have feels like it's getting too big and regular ones I have to do the clasp up pretty much to the tightest notch and normally I have to always be at the loosest or sometimes the middle one. So I think it's safe to say I'm definitely losing the inches in different areas.
Wanted to actually measure myself, but I cleaned up my place again and put the measuring tape away and can't remember where I put it lol.

Average weight for this week is about 206 lbs. So in a sense, i gained a pound but in general, clothing is getting looser so I know I'm still moving in the right direction.

Yesterday evening I felt rather restless and just kind of off in mood so I went and cleaned up Sam's pasture a bit but that still didn't feel enough so I walked the perimeter of it twice before going for a walk down the road. This was late at night too but thanks to the sun being out longer, I got home just as it was getting truly dark which was around 10:30 or a little after. So I got a decent amount of a walk in yesterday.

If your clothing is getting looser you are losing fat, good for you!
I also have a pair of jeans that I used to not be able to put on at all but now I can do them up. They're not quite comfortable enough to wear all day, but I can actually get them on now and do them up and could wear them for some time.
That's a good feeling isn't it. I have purchased several pair of too small jeans and then shrunk into them, I know the feeling.

Glad to see you doing so well, and as always the horse and pretty girl pictures are always welcome. Cat too.

Oh, how lovely! If your clothing's getting loose and you're feeling full of beans, then ... the passing number on the scale isn't important - you're definitely going in the right direction! :hurray:
