Thanks for popping by
Angel.
Its official - I am the luckiest lady alive because I have the sweetest husband - still after all these years.
Keep in mind in the following story that dance is very important to me... I was taught to dance by a national champion from a young age and got a number of dance qualifications - and in my teens came very close to qualifying as a dance teacher in more than one type dancing before I decided to focus on a more academic career...
I still loved to dance - but had to stop when my weight dramatically increased... When I was big I often itched to dance - but could only manage a few minutes and the pleasure was limited...
I started with aerobics - but now either do zumba or salsa (same teacher so a lot of people do both and it is a very friendly crowd) on six days out of seven... I go to lots of events where dance lives and in addition to people that dance as a hobby like myself - there are lots of professional dancers and dance teachers that are addicted to dancing - just socially dancing like crazy...
Friday was our 27th wedding anniversary...
Rod took Friday and Monday off work. As you will be aware - we are having beautiful weather at the minute... (I'm not implying that Rod controls the weather)...
Anyway - on Friday we went to Paxton House and did our walking in the grounds which were beautiful...
We managed to get back in time to see our friends and do an hour of zumba...
Saturday
We started with our normal 1 hour private salsa lesson followed by an hour and a half (specially long) zumba in our local church hall... This was very special to us because we got married at the church and had our wedding reception in the church hall...
When it came time to do the cool down - a romantic song from over 30 years ago that was special to us when we were young started playing...
Rod had been in touch with Chris and Chris had done some special romantic choreography to it... It was wonderful and included tons of dance symbolism (arm caresses, beating hearts, crossed hearts and LOL some occasional sneaky little pelvic thrusts to hint at that side too)...
It was so nice...
Lovely of Rod to think of the idea.
Lovely of Chris to make such lovely choreography just for me...
At the end he announced about it being special for us and why...
We had a rest for a few hours in the afternoon and went to SalSabado at night - which is a regular monthly salsa party that we go to...
It was tons of fun with a cha cha class and tons of social dancing...
Sunday
We went to Floors Castle and walked in the grounds...
Monday
We went to Raby Castle and walked in the grounds...
We got back in time to do two hours of zumba - and Chris did the lovely special cool down at the end of the second class...
I was really pleased with the anniversary weekend.
I had no naughty food (apart from sugar free sweets that I am not counting as naughty) - and in fact had undressed salad with lean protein on my main meals and fruit with yoghurt on my other meals...
I did tons of exercise - with a heap of walking, zumba and salsa...
I stayed on track and had a wonderful special time...
