Omega's journey

HI there! Just popping in to say hello. Sorry to hear you and Rod are down with the nasties. Hope it improves soon. If you aren't walking or weighing yourself, I know it has to be BAD..lol. Sending germ-fighting vibes your way. :)

Hope you get to feeling better soon.
We too are sick over on this side of the pond.
Gil has Strep and I have the beginnings of a Sinus infection.
Hope you get to feeling better soon.
And if you guys feel nearly as crappy as we do than it's no wonder you haven't been out walking.

:waving: Hey Margaret! Missing you and hoping you and yours are feeling better. Have you been able to keep up with some of your walking? You are so very close to your goal!

Cheers
janice

Hi Margaret,

Sorry to hear you have not been well - I hope you're both feeling much better soon.
Its a shame you are having to wait so long for your breast reduction surgery, I suppose that is the downside of having it on the NHS but just think how worthwhile it will be when you have had it!

Thanks for visiting and your good wishes. Sorry about my long absence. We are both feeling a lot better - and I am walking again. We are not quite fully recovered and still taking medication. I am just sticking to 7 miles a day on the treadmill - but I hope that will be enough. My weight did go up - so my weight has been yo-yo-ing at a similar level for the past 3 months or so. Holidays and illness seems to cause weight gain. At least I am back into size 10 jeans - the size that I got into in June. My weight was 9st7.2 i.e. 133.2 pounds this morning.

I missed my slimming class last Tuesday because I was ill so the worst of my gain should be invisible on their records.

Clearly all your good wishes for a speedy recovery have had a good effect.

Dawn
I hope that you are both recovering too.

Angel
Great to see you back here. Sorry that I was missing when you turned up.

Becky
I cannot wait for that surgery. It hurts when I take my bra off at bedtime. It feels like I have heavy weights on each breast. The NHS does take it's time with things - but it would cost a fortune to have it done privately.

Tammy
It is amazing that you have only 73 days to go (more or less) before the baby arrives. Time really does fly.

Take care

Hey Margaret, I wanted to thank you for the advice on the hair removal. I don't have money for either process right now but when and if I need to I'll try the lasers first. Have you heard anything about Kalo cream...whether it even works for anyone at all? I've heard mixed things about it.

Anyway I'm so glad to hear you and hubby are feeling better...you guys must have been really sick from the sound of it. Glad you're back :)

Hi Lisa

Sorry - I cannot comment about the cream that you mention. I know nothing about it.

Laser is really worth knowing about - and the fact that it gets less effective as you get older because it often just ignores the white / grey hairs. I think that it is scandalous that this is not generally known.

We have been pretty unwell with this bug. It takes something to get me to stop walking and weighing. I wish that I was one of those people that loses pounds when unwell - but it is honestly just a trigger for me to comfort eat.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Hi there Margaret, I've been thinking about you such a lot these last few months. When I "left" the forum back in February/March, you and I were about the same weight with about the same goal. This summer, I kept wondering if you had dazzled your friends in Greece (it was Greece, wasn't it?) during the summer holidays with your amazing transformation. I'm sooooo pleased to see how well you've done (unlike me).
You're a real star
Are you with Weightwatchers for this final stretch? How's it going?
Hope to see you around!

Thanks for visiting. My diary has been very very quiet recently. I hope that things have been going well for you all in my absence.

Valerie
Yes - it was really annoying when I couldnt do any walking. It stopped me walking a lot longer than my hospital stay.

We are both much better now thanks. The good news is that I have been walking at least 7 miles each day - but rarely any more than that. Mostly on the treadmill because I do not fancy going out if the weather is other than perfect. I have also tightened up with my food control. The really good news is that I have taken off the weight that I put on with flu and my sights are firmly on the low weight that I had before my holiday.

Weights for the last few Tuesdays kind of tell the story.
Low weight 9st3.0 i.e. 129.0 pounds on 24/08/2008
14/09/2008 return from holiday 10st3.2 i.e. 143.2 pounds.
16/09/2008 9st10.0
23/09/2008 9st9.4
30/09/2008 9st7.0
07/10/2008 9st11.8
14/10/2008 9st7.4
21/10/2008 9st4.8 i.e. 130.8 pounds

Yes - I did join WW - and the strategy is working well. They were more than happy for me to join when I did - and interested to hear about my weight loss to date. I hope that the exams that you had to concentrate on went well. Clearly you are getting to grips with your weight loss aspirations again - and I know that you can do this. Good luck. I tried more times than I can count before this most recent time that did the trick.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Oh great news! You're almost to your lowest again :D

I have been struggling with the same 3 pounds for months, but in a sense, since I like my body and am still somewhat lean and toned, it's been OK. Better to maintain than gain. Today I was back to 143.5 so I'm happy :)
