Omega's journey

Wow Margaret, you are so impressive!!!

Thanks for your kind words about me. It's not easy, but I can't loose if I don't try - so here I am trying!

You are so very near your goal. Good luck in this home stretch!

Hi Margaret~
Glad to see your doing okay.
It was weird there for a while to check out diaries and not ever have yours pop up.
Don't know that you have been to my diary lately. But we are nixing the internet here at home. Trying to tighten up the belt on the finances. We did really well over the summer, getting all the credit cards paid off and refinanced the car loan. Looks like we did it all just in the nick of time to with all this economy stuff going on.
So anywho I will still be getting on just not as often as I will be utilizing all those tax dollars I pay by going to the library and using their internet.
Anyhow, like I said glad things are going well.
Dawn

I'm glad to see you're back and doing well with the weightloss now that you've kicked the nasty cold to the curb. :) 130.8 is awesome!

I really miss you when you're not around and was getting worried about your long absence from here. Feel free to email me. ;) David just said the other day that he wished you and Rod lived closer so we could hang out. He really enjoyed our time together, and I absolutely agree.

Hey Margaret,
Just wanted to come by and say hi and see how things are going. I'm so glad you're feeling better. I just had some sort of flu too but fortunately mine only lasted 2 days, not like yours.

So I'm still fighting the pcos ;/ I had lab work done this week and my testosterone is way too high again. My food cravings have been bad lately too so I'm betting that's why. They doubled my metformin on Thurs. but since having the flu I haven't been taking it at all...nothing stayed down. Hoping I don't have problems with it. I also noticed when I eat fruit like you do, I have a much easier time. When I ran out and didn't restock I noticed in my food log I was eating alot more sweets. Anyway, any advice or tips you have that may help would be great :)

Hope you're having a great weekend ~Lisa

Hey Margaret,

A blast from the past I know, but wanted to drop by and say hi!!

Sounds like you havehad the flu - I have it currently. We have moved to Singapore and it is common for newcomers to get a bad case of it - this is my second time!! But it will go away, and all will be good.

Just wanted to say hi, and hope all is well,

Frankie

Hey Margaret,
glad to see you are still doing well weightwise, not so great healthwise, I hope the flu is kicked and you are doing well again.

You are so close to your goal... how does it feel? Are there days when you can't believe you have actually done it?

Have a great week, Camy

Missing you!
Kimberly and I are getting together tomorrow. We'll be eating Greek and I will be thinking of you!
Come visit us again soon. ;)

Hi Margaret,

I hope you get over your sickness soon. When I had my flu during mid Semester I lost 3kg in the process.

Shannon. :)

:waving:Hi Margaret
Glad to see you back on-line, and back to your teeny-tiny self! I am sure it took great determination and hard work to kick those holiday/illness pounds - and you sure did! I am happy for you.:hurray:

Your friend
Janice

Thanks for visiting. I thought that I ought to make a posting as I know that a few people had been wondering where I had got to and there is really no need to worry about me. I guess that you could say that life has kind of got in the way of me getting to the forum recently. I am sorry because I havent been supportive of so many who have supported me over this journey - but these things happen. I cannot promise to be better either as I have one or two things on my mind.

The good news is that my weight loss / maintenance has not been impaired by my diversions. I hit a new low on Saturday which saw my weight at 9st1.6 (or 127.6 pounds) - so I have adjusted my ticker accordingly. I am sitting very close to my ticker goal weight. I am still being pretty good with my food - all things considered (we all have the occasional slip-up)! and am still walking - but only 7 miles per day. Naturally my weight has since drifted up from the low weight - that as we all know is the way of new lows. I have set my ticker to the new low though. I might as well make the most of having got down that low.

My other good news is that I am just about into my wedding ring. I have been wearing it most days for the past two weeks - but have to admit that it did get too tight to wear for a couple of days so I cannot say that my weight is fully where I would like to be quite yet - but so very close..... This is wonderful as I had to stop wearing my wedding ring back in 1986 when I was still a young bride. I have been flashing it at people just like people do when they are first engaged or married!!!!!!!! I could never get it sized bigger as it is patterned on the outside and inscribed on the inside. If it had been sized up it would have been ruined. It really is tiny!

I certainly have been out of touch - not even aware that Kimberly and Dawn were meeting up. And I would have been extra jealous with Greek food on the agenda.....

Valerie
We are both at the stage where 3 pounds seems such a lot. Time to remember fondly the days when we could lose 3 pounds in a week!!!! Having said that there is so much pleasure in having a weight which is more or less where we want to be!

Auburn
The big thing is believing that you can do it. We all know what we need to do - we always knew it! Control our food intake to the healthy stuff and exercise regularly - even if it is walking and not necessarily the speediest walking in the world.

Dawn
Well done for sorting out the finances. We had a little financial scare recently too. We had some money in one of the Icelandic banks that went bust. Fortunately the UK government said that it would look after everyone and we had a letter to say that our savings had been transferred into a Dutch bank. I think that we only lost a bit of interest on the capital - thankfully the capital itself was secure!

Interest rates coming down is not a good thing for us either. Some prat in the UK government keeps saying that they should come down to 0%. Well I can tell him one thing for free. If they come down to 0% - we and millions like us will take our savings (that we currently live off as I do not work and schools and colleges are not renouned for paying support staff like Rod too much) out of the banks / building societies) and buy a little house in Greece. We would live there and rent out our current house and live off the rental income. If for any reason we had to be in Newcastle we would buy there instead of Greece or buy in Greece and let it out and stay with my parents. Why do these people think that anyone would have savings if they were getting no interest???????

Kimberly
I wish that we lived closer to each other too. I am so pleased that you contacted me off forum as it reminded me that people would be concerned about where I was.

Lisa
Sorry that the lab work came back less positive than you would like. All that I can say that it is true what they say and my hormone levels have improved a lot since I lost so much weight. When your weight comes off - and you must believe that it will if you just stick at it - yours will improve too. I know how it can seem like too big a task and therefore impossible - but one step at a time and one pound at a time it can all come off. I am pleased that the fruit is working for you. I eat an absolute ton of it. I swear that I eat much more than a normal person. I am also continually having s/f chewing gum and that seems to help me too. I get lots of sugar free sweets. Weight watchers does a great range that you can get in meetings here or order through an order form / order telephone line which is printed in the Weight Watchers magazine here. I absolutely love the caramel and chocolate melts. They are a hard sweet that you suck that tastes of caramel and chocolate and is 6.8 calories per sweet. They also do fruities which are other sweets that you suck. The liquorice flavoured fruities taste just like you are eating liquorice all sorts and are 36 calories for a packet of 12 sweets that can last all night while watching TV and improve an evening beyond belief. It stops you feeling deprived.

Frankie
It sounds like the move to Singapore was good for you. I seem to remember that your husband was working away from home and you were toying with making such a move. It is a good sign that you are back at the forum (says the queen of recently being MIA) as it will hopefully help you to focus on your weightloss aspirations. This forum honestly has so much good advice and support that I continually quote it as having been central to my weightloss success.

Camy
I have to admit that I still get surprised every time that I see my reflection in a window. It doesnt seem possible that it could be me.

Shannon and Anke
I did fully recover from the flu - but a few other issues have been monopolising my time. I wont bore everyone with them here - the main thing is that my weight loss has not suffered because of them.

Janice
When you talk about people having a teeny-tiny self - you epitomise the notion. You are so tiny nowadays yourself.

Take care
Love
Margaret

I am glad that you are well I had been wondering where you were, but I am happy to see that not only are you skinnier than ever, but also seem to be well and happy (I read between the lines ;)).

I hope you have a wonderful week, pop in every so often and keep us posted how everything is going (I am especially interested in how things go with the breast reduction, but I know it may still be a long wait till you can get that done),
love, Camy

Glad to see you back here at least for a pop in to update. :)

There was no Greek food on the menu when Dawn and I met up. We had Indian instead. :D

I think I said everything else in my emails..lol.

:hurray:YAY MARGARET! Fitting into your wedding ring again is absolutely brilliant - and what a lovely, meaningful goal/reward for so much hard work.

Great to see you back online and to know that you are still doing so well.

Keep it up, lady!
Cheers
janice

Hey Margaret, I just second and third and fourth what everyone else is saying. It is good to see you post and know you are still alive and well.Excellent on 127!

I finally stepped things up a notch and joined a boot camp.UGH!Rain or shine outdoors...LOL

Thanks for visiting. I will send you all into shock by a second entry after such a long absence. Thanks for your welcome back. It will take me forever to catch up on everyone.

Camy
No word on the breast reduction yet.

Anke
Thanks for the good wishes. I didnt mean to worry you all.

Kimberly
I love Indian food too. Probably something about the British empire and there being quite a high Indian population here. There are loads of great Indian restaurants. I try to avoid them most of the time these days as I have difficulty in portion control (or I should say ordering a normal person's reasonable serving) with food that I really like. As far as the rest goes - thank goodness for email!

Janice and Valerie
I have to say that the wedding ring is a great milestone. It is great getting to where I am - and the next couple of pounds should make all the difference. It will be great to be able to wear it all day every day.

Cerella
Boot camp and outdoors whatever the weather!!!! You really know how to show yourself a good time!!!! I remember the pictures of you in the snow last winter. I have a vision of you doing boot camp out in that!!! Lots of people have really sworn by boot camp - Dawn and Janice come to mind. Having said that - I havent given it a go yet. I hope that it really works for you. I hear that you ache in places that you had forgotten could ache!

Take care
Love
Margaret

Thanks for stopping by and visitin'! LOL
It's good to have you back even if on a limited basis.
Awesome News on the wedding ring. I know you were really shooting for that to be your ultimate thing in knowing you had made it to where you wanted to be.
Soon you will be there all day, every day.
